  1. I was averaging 44mpg in my IS300h Premier and clocked 50mpg on the way to Birmingham to swap it for an RX450H F Sport. That was the first time in 2 years I had seen 50mpg as my daily commute is through Bradford with stop start traffic and lengthy queues so I was pretty happy with 44mpg. I had an NX for 24 hours and got over 40 mpg so not bad. My new (used) RX450H F Sport got 45mpg back to Yorkshire and my first full tank with 60 miles travelled on a mix of motorway and A roads with little stop start is currently at 39.8mpg which I dont think is bad for such a large car. It remains to be seen what happens when I am back at work next week. Fingers crossed it doesnt fall below 35mpg average
  2. Same with me, I hadnt thought anything of it until I just read a review that said it was included. I can hear the engine growl a bit if you accelerate moderately but its not that bad but if it were silent-ish I would prefer that, I like quiet
  3. Thanks for the tip on the B pillar. I will try to work out if it is that but may just take it in to a dealer as and see if they can sort it out. I am going to apply silicone oil to all the rubber door seals as that made a big difference in the IS
  4. is it possible to turn the sound generator off in the F Sport as you could in the IS?
  5. I paid for mine and drove it away on the same day. Test drive, paperwork and payment done and dusted in 2 hours. Only one small niggle. I have a tiny rattle/vibration from somewhere on or around the drivers door but I cant pinpoint it. Apart from that I am well pleased. Rayaans. Thanks for your advice and encouragement, just hope you dont bump in to my wife as she will probably kill you lol
  6. I ended up buying an RX450 F Sport yesterday. Very happy with it, the ride is much smoother than the NX but it is very large :-)
  7. I think I am used to it now. Will just have to keep "driving miss daisy" to ensure I maximise the mpg
  8. Thanks, thats a shame as I liked the Home screen triple tile option. The 12 iinch screen is nice though
  9. I agree on all counts. I think I will miss my old IS, it was a great car and I was not entirely sure I wanted to get rid of it as it was less than 3 years old but I have wanted another RX since my RX300. The gen 4 is definitely bigger but love it. Hopefully I will be able to average ~35mpg on my commute vs the IS`s 42
  10. Hi Steve, Its a Gen4 and i know its deceptive. Width isnt the main thing. Its the sheer bulk, its very high and the bonnet level is high too. I think I am going to need step ladders to put the mountin bikes on the roof bars
  11. Just bought an RX450H F Sport today and drove it away. Briliant but it is HUGE
  12. Hi does anyone know if it is possible to set up the home screen with the 3 tile display like you can on an is300h. I cant seem to find anything in the manual or on line
  13. Quick drive to Lexus Birmingham this morning in my is300H Premier (got 50mpg at a 50 to 70mph) to check out an RX450H F Sport white with rose interior. Initial thoughts on the test drive were mixed due to fuel consumption looking too low to consider the change but it had settled at 36mg by the time we got back to the dealership. Anyway the deal was pretty decent so I bit the bullet and drove it away. Got 45mpg on the drive back to Yorkshire, traffic on the M42 and M1 50/60mph restrictions as far as Barnsley helped but I am sure I would have achieved around 40mpg at a constant 70mph. Love the car, the adaptive cruise control works brilliantly and it is so quiet. Its bloody huge though LOL I thought that I was going to miss the ML sound system but Rayaans was right the 12 speaker Pioneer is pretty good and I think is not far off the ML so very happy with that. I am sure all the motoring journalists who review Lexus hybrids have no clue how to drive them and constantly whine about 0-60 performance and laggy gear change. Blithering idiots IMHO. I want a quiet comfortable car that is reliable and makes you feel good and dont care if it doesnt handle or accelerate like a sports car. This is my 6th Lexus in a row and second RX and I have to say this one is miles ahead of the others Anyyway over to ebay now to list some accessories from the is
  14. Thanks for the advice, appreciated. the Sidcup deal was good but the breaker was the panoramic roof is not compatible with roof bars and I need to transport 3 mountain bikes on existing carriers (that were ~£120 each) so I am almost certainly going to buy the one from Birmingham who have given me an excellent px price plus some extras. I have given them a refundable holding deposit and am going down on Thursday to see it. Its white with red interior 27/11/2015 65 plate with 10550 miles so hopefully newly serviced. Stockport (via Bradford) would not deal on their F Sport at all which is a shame. I would have bought it if they deal was the same as Birmingham as its closer to home. Birmingham is Vantage group, the same as Leeds so perhaps I will be able to pick it up from them if I do the deal
  15. Lexus Sidcup have offered me a good deal on a black/red combination with HUD and panorama roof and I am seriously thinking of driving down there. Its over 200 miles each way though so not that easy. Bradford Lexus cant deal on the price of the the one at Stockport and theirs is £450 more without the HUD and roof option, 6000 miles less on the clock so a bit swings and roundabouts I think. Its all your faut that I am now going for an F Sport LOL
  16. Link below, unzip to a suitable folder and then browse to this Lexus CT200H Service Manual Library/rm1720e/index2.html all the links should then work
  17. Bluesman Is it OK to just post the link here?
  18. Rayaans Thanks for your reply. I did tweak the EQ a bit. 1 extra bass, +3 mid and centre for treble, also moved balance and fade 2 notches to rear, 1 to left and it sounded pretty good. AS I am getting old (lol) and want a quiet soft riding car I am a little worried the F Sport will be a bit stiff but definitely want to drive it as I love the interior. The two things I wanted were comparable sound system, which I think it is and blind spot monitor which I will have to live without. Shame it doesnt have the HUD. I like it dark inside the cabin so dont care for pan roof.
  19. Took a drive over to Lexus Stockport earlier to check out an 4RX F Sport, Rose interior but no other extras. I think the black hedliner with the red works really well. Tried the sound system with my own music and to be fair I think Rayaans is right. The quality is pretty good. I think I could live with it. I best not listen to the ML in the 4RX though. I will be trying to do a deal on the car during the week. Bradford Lexus is part of the same group so I am hoping they might be able to get it for me to test drive. Rayaans. Why did you go F Sport again vs Luxury
  20. I am giving away free :-) so hopefully that doesnt contravene any rules
  21. Rayaans Yes it was the rotary controller standard nav. Do you know if the 4RX Luxury has 12 speakers? I cant seem to find any details in the vehicle equipment section. Thanks for the tip on the Luxury in Ipswich. The one in birmingham is only £1k more, newer and less miles. Bradford who loaned me the NX called me to say they might be getting a luxury with 5k miles soon so may wait to see that. Wish I could afford the Premier though or even an FSport with Premier pack, I do quite like the rose interior :-)
  22. I will consider any colour except brown and it must have black interior. I cant quite afford the F sport but would not mind the rose interior Lexus Birmingham are due a silver RX Luxury 66 plate 12000 miles for £40995 that is just about affordable. I am in no desperate hurry so might even wait for a Premier to drop to ~£40k
