  1. Thought other 4th gen RX450h owners might be interested in this organiser tray that fits in the top of the armrest storage. Saw a post for one on the US owners forum so just searched ebay. Just bought one as it looks to be worth a try http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-Lexus-RX-RX200t-RX350-RX400h-RX450h-Armrest-Storage-Organizer-Tray-2016-2017-/182408839935?hash=item2a786a02ff:g:booAAOSwstJZRyTk
  2. The readings are from the cars TPM per wheel display. Assumed, possibly stupidly, that it was based on reality
  3. Opionions please. Tyre pressures on my gen 4 F Sport are 2.8 bar, presumably set by the dealer before I drove it away. The manual recomends 2.3 bar for "normal" speeds. Whilst I appreciate that the higher pressure is not a problem per se Would I actually notice a difference in ride comfort/quality and or reduction in fuel consumption if I drop back to 2.3 bar. Currently achieving just over 39mpg many thanks for any thoughts on this
  4. Suggest you check out page 379 of the user manual as it has the distances in it. I tried to paste it in but copy from a pdf doesnt play nice with a text entry box, also in the Premium Nav manual it details the distances represented by the yellow and red horizontal lines.as below The guide lines display points approximately 1.5 ft. (0.5 m) (red) and approximately 3 ft. (1 m) (yellow) from the centre of the edge of the bumper.
  5. On Saturday I replaced the front disc and pads on my wifes Mk4 Honda CRV and used Eicher Premium discs from Euro Carparts for £41.99 (the RX400h are the same price) and EBC greens stuff pads. Saved myself well over £200 on the dealers quote. It only took me about an hour to do both sides and is pretty easy. If you don't have one I would suggest an impact driver to remove the disc retaining screws. I have used the EBC pads before and they generate virtually no dust and last really well. They were cheaper than Honda OEM and for a RX400h they are £56.99 from ebcbrakeshop.co.uk part number DP61681 Good luck
  6. I wholeheartedly agree on the MK1 RX, I had one and it was superb. The MK2 that I replaced it with was better I think and I still regret getting rid of it and dropping to a CT200 to save money on fuel when I lost my personal petrol allowance. Hindsight is a wonderful thing
  7. Took my RX into Lexus Leeds on Thursday for them to sort out a small rattle/vibration in the drivers door and they loaned me a base model NX300h. Well that certainly validated my decision (aided by Rayaans) to go with the RX. Whilst the NX is nice its not a patch on the RX. It felt a bit like my IS300h to drive, higher obvioulsy but more road noise, a lot more road noise, and not quite as smooth. In fact compared the the RX, and IS for that matter, the road noise started to get a bit annoying. Maybe it was the Yokohama Blue Earth tyres? Jittery ride too as mentioned before and experienced by others. It also seemed very small/compact inside and to drive The strange thing was that it felt quicker than the RX but that was an illusion, I think down to it being that bit noisier as when I got back in the RX I could tell that was quicker but because its so quiet you are going faster than the noise suggests. Fuel consumption also about the same as my RX whilst being driven in the same way (Driving Miss Daisy now I am old and tight with money LOL) For now the rattle is gone and so I am very happy and was glad to return the NX although if the NX was as quiet as the RX I cold definitely live with one but would have to go with the Premier The NX is a great car but IMHO not a patch on the RX, apologies to NX owners and I have not meant to offend
  8. Borrowed an IS300h Premier when my ct went in for service a couple of years ago. I didnt return the IS, just kept it an px`d the CT. Borrowed an NX when the IS went for its last service, not enough of a difference to keep it but ended up with and gen 4 RX450H F Sport a week later :-) It was all Rayaans fault LOL
  9. I also got my son some of the Michelinblades from Costco for his BMW and they dont squeak :-) On an is300h the Michelins do not require an adapter as the wiper arm is the hook type thay fits straight in. On the BMW we needed one of the adapters but it was no worse than the OEM ones we removed. For the price I think they are pretty good
  10. I replaced mine recently just before part exchanging the vehicle with the same blades from Costco at just less than £15 the pair, they cleared the screen brilliantly but the drivers side squeaked at the top of the stroke after about 20 cycles. Quite annoying. They are on offer at Costco at the moment for £11.33 a pair and I have bought some for the new RX450h for when I need to replace the existing blades
  11. I have the Whispbar that uses fork mount which I find much better for full suspension MTB and the Orange 5 doesnt lend itself well to the frame mount options. Either way the Whisbar frame mount uses the same bar fixing merthod which is much quicker and easier to fit and more secure than the Thule (which I also have for a 3rd bike that has 9mm QR) I wil sell the Thule at some point and buy another Whspbar though https://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel4_tab.php?31165&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuLu64Nmu1QIV6b3tCh3jRgXHEAQYASABEgLLV_D_BwE
  12. I would definitely go the roof bars route and then Whispbar carriers are brilliant, very easy to fit to the bars and easily convert between 9mm QR and 15mm through axle. Much better then Thule.
  13. Whilst the infotainment system can be annoying and the sat nav display is somewhat old fashioned I always found it to be remarkably accurate, certainly in terms of distance to turns and voice warning of an upcoming change of direction. On premium nav the reversing aids are brilliant and in my is300 premier the ML sound system pretty much made up for the shortcomings elsewhere. The 12 speaker Pioneer in my gen 4 RX F sport is very good and not far off the ML in the is300. Test drove an NX300h with standard nave and audio and IMO it was very poor and not something I could live with
  14. I had my screen replaced under warranty shortly after buying the car as it was very badly affected car was a 64 plate. Re likes/dislikes 1. ML sound system unbelievably good at moderate to high volume (initially underwhelmed) 2. Seats and driving position superb 3. Love the way the car looks Dislikes 1. Boot doesn't open fully when remote released 2. Sun visors don't slide so only cover half the side window,...useless 3. Alloys easily curbed even with tyres that have protector ridge
  15. Thanks for that. I was thinking more about the output interface and whether it would be possible to connect to a projector unit that would sit on top of the dash as opposed to cutting it. You did tell me to get the one with the HUD but I couldn't risk the bars not fitting. Just picked them up from Leeds this morning but haven't tried them yet
  16. Does anyone know how the nav system outputs signal for the HUD. Just wondering if it might be possible to connect to an aftermarket projector
  17. I find the sound quality is better on FM vs same station on DAB does anyone else think the same
  18. I havent needed to use the nav yet so cant comment on its accuracy or effectiveness. On the IS300H whilst a very old fashioned interface it was one of the most accurate i have used in terms of turns and how far to the next direction change. I was hoping the RX would be at least as good and it does look to be a similar interface. The manual says it will display motorway junction gantries which the IS never did, so maybe I will give it a try next time I do a motorway journey. I dont have the adaptive lights, only the auto high beam which seem to be awkward vs my wifes Honda CRV. One thing that is slightly irritating is that the tailgate wont open from the fob if the unless the car is unlocked first. Again my wifes CRV does this without having to unlock the car first. Maybe this is me being dumb as usual. I agree that the lane departure is annoying most of the time
  19. Perhaps I am being rather dense but I cant seem to get the nav to start just on the map as opposed to the menu screen and I have to press return to get it back to map only. Is it me??
  20. over 24000 miles I returned 46.6mpg average, car reading, which was ~5% higher than actual. Highest I ever saw was 50mpg mostly 50-70mph on motorway from Mirfield West Yorks to Birmingham recently on a hot day when I went to swap the IS300H for an gen 4 RX450H F Sport. My commute is 16 miles A road about 60/40 split but traffic is usually stop start on the A road and often pretty slow on the section of M62 I drive one. The same journey is showing as 39.6mpg on the RX. You need to be aware though that cold weather lowers the mpg so you have to accept a cold/hot weather split in your fuel consumptionsomewhere between 5 and 10% lower for me For me the IS300H was a brillaint car and way ahead of the 1 series BMW (which my son had for a while) and so IMHO a no brainer of a swap. Once you learn to drive the hybrid way I am sure you will exceed the BMW mpg but in any event you will have a mucher nicer car
  21. I dont find the analogue clock difficult to read at all, definitely not as easy as digital though I have to agree. They do look pretty cool IMHO
  22. My IS300H Premier had Yokohamas on it and I am with Rayaans on this. I never thought tehre was excessive road noise. Infact, compared to the CT200 I had before it was quite and much more refined. Having just, last week, changed to a gen4 RX450H F Sport I can alos agree with Rayaans that it is eerily quiet. At 70mph there is not a hint of wind noise and road noise is only noticeable on the rougher surfaces. On smooth tarmac you could be doing 20mph for all the noise you can hear. Now thats what I like in a car :-)
  23. Hi Ja Thanks and yes the new shape, its absolutely brilliant.
