I was serving in Iraq between June and Dec 2004 at the same time when Ken Bigley was being held captive and subsequently he was murdered before I left the country.
Connolly's sick remark to the effect that they should "just kill him and get it over with" was disgusting.
As a born and bred Glaswegian I find nothing about Connolly, his humour or his support for a football club who's fans regularly sing their support of Irish republican murder gangs and who's chants go without comment or derision from the Scottish sporting or mainstream media hilarious in the least.
Connolly, through that crass remark sees human life as a waste of time, space or effort and like many of the fans of the team that he supports, that is how they view the life of British subjects, particularly members of our Armed and Police Forces, although I hasten to add not of those who are employed by the state who hand out state benefits paid by British taxpayers.
Why don't they do home indeed?
They hate the Crown, but they love the half crown.
Some things never change.
Tell me I'm wrong?
