  2. Hi people Well what can i say, hope all is well. Been browsing on the LOC on and off, you all have some nice cars with cool mods.. As promised got some pics of the new IS i have now, it's an 02 plate IS200 Sport, with 65K on the clock. Got it at a good price considering it has the TRD Kit on, lowered on H&R springs 40mm and just had timing belt changed with 12 months MOT. Came with the 18" Sport alloys (currently for sale, see for sale section). Can't post direct photo, but here are the links to them.. (can a mod sort this for me please??) Red Lex 1 Red Lex 2 Red Lex 3 Red Lex 4 Red Lex 5 needs the Maguires touch when i am back from holiday, then couple of things need to be done to it to get the required look. Black headlights and foglights HKS Silent power back box Rear foglights mod see what i can think of...lol a couple of pics of my previous most cherished lex.. Black Lex 1 Black Lex 2 Black Lex 3 let me know with your opin ions on the red lex.. Imi

  4. thanks for that guys, im gonna take it to my mechanic in the morning and see what he says. i personally thought it was the back plate, however will get the mechanic to have a look. will report back once i find out!!
  5. hi, i have just had my lexus lowered on springs. since i have had it lowered there is a grinding noise from the back driver side wheels. the mechanic says that there is a 'shimmin' missing and i require a new brake kit? can anyone shed more light on this for me? (e.g. what that means, what needs to be done, cost?)
  6. hmmmmmm. so they tyres wont look odd on my alloys. e.g. tyre wider than the alloy? will there be any rubbing, especially if i lower the car?
  7. hey, i just wanted to ask if anyone knows what the difference is between 225/40/18 tyres and 235/40/18. i bought some alloys which are 18" and 7.5 in width for my is200, and also got some 235/40/18. but i have come to know that these may not be the right ones? can anyone elaborate??
  8. thanks all. ur views are much appreciated
  9. oh by the way i have now registered aswell. my username is Mr_A!!

  12. hi guys, (its imi's mate again) right ive just had my kit put on and i thought id put some pics up and see what response i get. do u think it suits the black rims? ive asked alot of people and its 50/50. i cant decide (bare in mind its gettin lowered this week aswell). please help.. http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w323/asad_m/DSC02302.jpg http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w323/asad_m/DSC02301.jpg http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w323/asad_m/DSC02300.jpg http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w323/asad_m/DSC02299.jpg http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w323/asad_m/DSC02298.jpg http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w323/asad_m/DSC02297.jpg http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w323/asad_m/DSC02294.jpg http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w323/asad_m/DSC02292.jpg
  13. Thanks for the replies guys.. I'll get my mate to go back to the dealers and see if they can sort something out, but on another he has found a place in Rotherham near sheffield that can make springs for the car, whether they are any good is a different story ;)
  14. I've got a freind with an N-Plated GS300 Sprot, one of the rear springs has broken and is having problems getting hold of another set, dealers say they don't do them anymore, and TDi sell them for a 98 onwards model.. anybody know where he can get hold of either 1 spring for the rear or a whole set of lowering springs for his GS Sport?
  15. i can vouch for it working on mine, as to when i went to Glossop in the snow.. went up a hill with 2" snow, while rest of them struggled getting up this hill, even the Toyota Celica was struggling infront of me, but i over took it..lol.. i have got 18" alloys with Ventus tyres, and a bootfull of ICE.. as as most of the IS200 with standard wheels are on summer tyres, so there is hardly any chance of them gripping in the snow/rain..
  16. Good luck with the recovery Mat.. and Duncan, hope u get well too mate.. I broke my leg last Oct playing footy, was off 8 mths that was boring..lol
  17. #4 has got my vote.. they are PHAT!! B)

    Silver Altezza

Lowered, standard wheels, small number plate at front ? went past me on wakefield road, waterloo, while i was stuck in traffic :P
  19. there wasn't any snow untill i got to steves, but it was an experiance for me as never driven a RWD car in the snow before, and was surprised as to how it handled, in my opinion i would rate it a 8/10 as to how it performed..
  20. lmao.. it didnt snow during the 1st bit of the journey, only as i entered Glossop that it landed pretty thick quickly, if it started snowing as set-off, doubt it if i would have even made it half-way.. as for the cliffs, that pic i took on the way home, it was all clear on the way there tho..
  21. Thanks guys.. going to lower it a bit more all round so the tip of the tyres are covered, but thats after the new year me thinks.. should see state of it today!!!
  22. Had to go up to Charles worth Motors yesterday for a Service, MOT,Front discs and ARB bolt replacing (broke off).. For those who have been up to Glossop, you know what the route is all about.. for those who don't maybe THIS might help.. Just entering Glossop and the snow started pilling on, the dreaded Marple hill approached with nearly 3" of snow on the road, had to stop as soon as i turned the corner, Celica infront braked due to bus n van stuck, i had to stop, looking up the hill i was like .. anyway pressedthe SNOW button, slowly but surely made it up, wheels were spinng like hell, everyone looking I got up the hill with only minor problems compared to some of the other cars that were behind me, even went past the celica.. Steve was shocked when i turned up in the snow.. told him its all about right, heres a few pics.. (there was no snow at the garage at 9am when steve got there, i got there 9.40 and this is what is was like. :winky: IS+SNOW=FUN) at Garage Big Joe's New Job My car on MOT ramp the usual case in snow!! Parked up at Woodhead Pass Rear End..lol on way back main roads were clear-ish, but got home safely.. B)
