  1. My car does exactly the same as yours Apsaauga !! Have had the car looked at and also hooked up to the Daignostics, everything seems fine, but the loss of power is there, very noticable! You can't even feel the VVTi Kick, or just the normal power kick. I still have my pre-cats though, hopefully will get it looked at pretty soon, if you find the problem let us know, will do vice-versa..
  2. sorry to hear about the accident :o but good to know your ok tho, apart from the neck pains, lower back pain, sleepless nights, ect..etc.. Hope the insurance will sort it out for ya..

    Clutch

    Update: Did the testing of the clutch yesterday, 1. Put it in 3rd Gear, started to pull, it juddered a little but it set-off! 2. Tried again, same result.. 3. Tried it in 2nd, pulled off a breeze, no probs. 4. While normal driving up a hill which i can take in 3rd or 4th gear, i often have to drop it into 2nd gear! So does this indicate clutch is gone? If so, is it better to buy the OEM or shall i go with Upgraded one? I won't be doing any other engine mods, other than what i got, induction kit and HKS Ti Hyper, (maybe getting pre-cats removed and the sports CAT replacement for MR-PRO-LEX later) Thanks for the info guys..     the cars has done 102K, (i amsure it should last longer than that?) will do the testing on the way home from work, i think there is a little tiny bit of life left, must have a word with Mr Pro-lex... is it worth getting the Uprated one of the OEM one?

    imi, try going up a hill in 2nd or 3rd gear, and put your foot to the floor :D if your car rev's and you dont seem to be getting anywhere, your clutch is slipping and on its way out :D why whats your car doing mate ← its not far off how you describe, also even though i am doing 40 or 50 is 3rd gear the revs stay around 3000, if i put it 4th the revs drop to 2000K, i also notice that when i press the clutch in sometimes its hard getting it into gear..got a feeling that the clutch is on its way out! if the cars in neutral there is a noise from the front of the car, but press the clutch pedal in and it goes, clutch re;ealse bearing?

  8. lol.. Nearest dealership is Lexus Leeds, they can't look at the car because of a new workshop construction. Lexus Bradford say about 2 weeks.. Just wondering on going down and getting it checked out by TDi North, (have sent PM to Mark with alink to this thread..) (dealers will probly put it down to the mods or something as always!) Hopefully got someone else to look at it courtasy of a LOC Member

  11. mmm.. Well the mechanic had a look at the crank n camshaft settings, all good, but he did mention one thing.. that the when the car had been on for a bout 5-10 mins he could smell something like the CAT is on its way out! :o but no fault light is displaying?? could it be the cat or even a pre-cat that's gone? will it be a good idea to getting booked in at dealers just the find out where the fault is?

  13. had a word with lexus parts department, was told the lights itself fit, but the wirring etc will not be comatible, apparently the IS300 is wired up differently to the IS200.. so it's a no no.. anybody know if these lights come with the ballasts? whats that black box thats connected to the headlights?
  14. if they do fit an IS200, i would be intrested in buying these, as my IS light casing is all dull yell and passenger side steams up now and then.. He's also based in Huddersfield, where i work, so i can pick'em up and save on postage cost. will have to purchase the bulbs tho.. whats the cost of these?

Nah been told that it could be the settings of the camshaft and crankshaft, i recievd the "Dealer Settings" for these 'thanks to Chris' :winky: so the mechanic is having a look at this tomorrow evening.. I did however ring Lexus Bradford, explained the conditon of the car etc, and he pointed out to get these settings checked and hopefully it should be sorted, if it doesn't then it's off to the dealers, he also said it could be the Coil Pack, cos a few IS's and a GS have had had theirs replaced lately.. will let ya know tho..

    Just went out for a break :P i see a Dark Blue Lexus GS430 sport parked near my IS Damn its a fine machine The reg plate is wicked.. "V8 LCX" it's got a screw/cap placed in middle of the "C" to read "V8 LEX".. Wonder if the owner is on here? (will put flyer on car next break)

  20. thanks for the info.. i have done the battery reset thing yesterday, drove it and gave it a good boot on dual carraige way.. only ting i noticed was after the reset when i started the car the idle was really poor, had to hold revs with allcelerator.. The throttle motor ticks, as you said when it can't hold the idle etc.. apply bit of gas it's fine, let go and then its same.. after a bit of drive rev are fine.. but no kick.. is it one big unit or differnt bits into one? any idea of a cost for the throttle response motor? will it cause any harm if i can carry on driving till i get checked out? Thanks
  21. started car this morning and the revs went too high 2000rpm on first start :o even moving after 500 yds up street when in neautral the revs were still pretty high :o The car drove a bit slugish, but when i did get a chance to kick it on a long run, 2nd,3r,4th there some burning smell coming through the vents!! not had it before! What could that be? Getting the pe-cats check done on Mon, "Fluff" the alternator is new-ish and regulator was too, got the alternator tested before putting it on the car.. How com no CEL lights etc are coming on? Got hooked up to the Toyota/Lexus Diagnosis machine, it shows everythings fine..
  22. Had a new another alternator put on, both the battery showing good voltage and the alternator, showing around 13 i think but somewhere in betwwen the power is missing wonder if pre-cats got owt to do with? (when the cars is fine, the lights don't go dim, it holds the voltage perfectly..)
  23. UPDATE: Cat sounds fine. Did a battery removal and re-connect, also cleaned the throttle body responce thingy with a Carb Cleaner.. the car was a bit better last nite, was a deep tone in exhaust, kick in the car etc.. but a few hours later, back to normal, the cars headlights go down, when i give some gas the bright up (got new Red Top Battery).. What was strange, when i started the car this morning, the rev idle flew up to 1.7 nearly to 2 :o is that normal? Fluff there is no humming noise when i put the ignition before starting the car.. Does that mean something wrong with the throttle body sensor or something?
  24. do you reckon its got owt to do with the throttle body being "Gummed Up", could try and get hold of some cleaner like the carb spray that goes into the Air intake? (as could pop round to the auto shop on way home) (will give the battery reset later on after work)
