Last week you were selling up because of a knocking noise, this week your thinking about spending £6000 on the engine

I totally understand about the impulse buying mate. Then, when you think about it you realise you dont really need/want.
Been there lots of times mate. I think ARB's are for peeps who like to go fast round roundabouts. I'm quite a "normal driver" Thought about them a few times but managed to control myself.
-
Why did you bid in the first place ?
-
Welcome mate.
-
You need your geometry set up properly. The OEM set-up is wrong, causing uneven tyre wear.
If you go to THISsite all the info is there.
Hope this helps.

Great info Nick, i'm desperately looking for the front doorcards in black, with the chrome speaker rims.
Have e-mailed every breaking is200 on e-bay to no avail. If you happen to be passing that place anytime, would it be possible to have a nosey for me mate ? Only if your passing mate, i dont want to put you out.
Do you know if they would post things to Scotland mate ?

Welcome mate, looks a nice buy.

Iv'e heard good thing about Charlesworth mate. Good luck with it mate.

Dont get too disheartened mate, these little niggles are a pain in the ar$e but you'll struggle to get a car as comfortable as your Lexus. Take it to your local independant garage and ask them to have a look for you mate.
If it's a disc, they are not too expensive, HERES loads. If it's a caliper you can either get a NEW one for £115 from HERE or a repair kit from HERE for £30.
Keep your chin up mate, you'll get to the bottom of it.

Could possibly be your disc is warped also mate.

I had the same thing mate. Red hot caliper, clunking when turning slow and braking. I fixed it by taking out all the pads and clip/springs,copper greasing the the pads and shims and bending the clips a little bit to make sure the pads are tight. I also took the sliding pins out the caliper and greased them also. I just sprayed some WD40 on the pistons then pushed the pistons back into the caliper.
Hope this helps.

Car looks great Ian, the body kit is TRD, avalible from Lexus.

Hi ACLex, is it possible to get the front doorcards ? The ones with the chrome speaker rings, from 51 onwards i think. If so how much would they be ?
Thanks,
Tommy
I think you may be searching Flea bay or breakers for these as they are £610 + vat each :o
Andy
:o I'd be cheaper buying a full car, taking the doorcards, then throwing the rest away :duh: Iv'e tried loads of breakers on flea bay, nothing doing.
Thanks anyway Andy.

A wee mod for your steering wheel, take the L from the airbox in the engine bay, nice and shiney.
just swap them over, easy peasy :winky:
-
We don't need air con in Bonnie Scotland

On the is200 there is a little spring/wire that clips into the pads, that keeps the pads away from the disc's ,ie stops the the pads rubbing against the disc's, it may be missing, as i have one missing and it's making this noise.
-
Have you tried Lexus mate ?
-
Your car is stunning mate, welcome.
-
Looking for both front door cards in black with the chrome speakers,
think they're from 52 onwards.
Thanks, Tommy
