  1. HKS do a 600bhp kit for IS200. This is what you want, bored to 2.3L with fat turbo. http://www.hks-power.co.jp
  2. See my rims on Aristo Vertex at www.lexusvertex.com for example of Chrome Lexus wheels, 17x8, made by JMJ in Japan. They are magnesium carbon so super-light. Beware big heavy alloys like Anteras as they screw the handling of your car up. Going too big 18/19/20 will screw up your handling also, maybe 18 is OK but typically 19 and 20 are for show only.
  3. Forgot to mention - tried dumping 330bhp thru rear wheels with P6000's which I originally had - crap, big traction problem. Dumping 330bhp from rolling start in WET no problem for Goodyear F1!!! Next tyres are road-legal slicks.
  4. I use Goodyear F1 all round for fast road and track use. Very good, side walls didn't cave in on heavy cornering. 3 laps round the track and the cornering is 100%+increased with the heat, quite an incredible tyre dry or wet. I pay around £115 exc.VAT each for 17x8 F1's.
  5. If your tyre wear is uneven e.g outside this is 'positive camber' If your tyre wear is inside this is 'negative camber'. Camber adjustments can be made to suspension to fix this, for example my GS/Aristo needs slight negative camber as the back wheels cramp under power. I had excess negative camber after track use and the tyres wore on the inside badly. Camber adjustment sorted it all out. Sometimes when they clamp the card down on the boat from Japan, it can move the camber out badly and suspension needs re-set after importing a Jap car. Even wear is OK, but uneven wear is camber problem. Take it to a specialist such as Lexus but if not a 4-wheel alignment / suspension specialist could sort it out.
  6. I have the same problem - no cable and no ADSL from BT I use ISDN, this is much better than regular phone line as it's v.quick dial-up, connection doesn't break as easy and it gives multiple phone lines. It is about 30% faster than a 56K modem. I recommend CAT5 cable as it gives 100mbps speed, much quicker than wireless. Wireless is OK for checking your email in the garden but for true reliable speed you need CAT 5 cable. You can buy CAT5 cable already made up to 25M etc. I run all my cables over-head and behind the skirting boards, have got av and speakers all wired this way also.
  7. HKS have modded an IS200 to 600bhp. I understand it has bored engine to 2.3L and turbo-charger. http://www.hks-power.co.jp/ Also, the Jap IS200 (Altezza) comes with F1 shift and 210bhp, compared to UK 150bhp (limp). If you need a Jap to English conversion, try Translingo software.
  8. I carry a can of this type of stuff at all times. It's for emergencies only, like when you get a flat. It's safe to drive home on, my mate has used it on his Fiat Coupe. Next day he got the tyre place to clean out the stuff out of the tyre. Goodyear F1 very good treads, had a few nails in them and no punctures + immense grip dry/wet.
  9. Oil coolers are expensive and really only for track use - is your IS200 tuned to the moon? I hear HKS have a 600bhp IS kit, you could check out the oil cooler info thru an HKS dealer.
  10. I used TRD pads on standard discs on my Aristo Vertex and they warped the discs. I recommend Black Diamond grooved + Ferrodo brake pads. This is what I use for track, and usually holds up for 5 laps or so (compared with a BMW M3's 3 laps). On the road they are more than enough to stop the car. AP Racing do 4/6 pot kits for Lexus now also, for real stopping power. Dot 5.1 brake fluid anyone? www.lexusvertex.com
  11. Octane should be around 100 for your Aristo. I use Silkokene octane booster, available from Demon Tweeks Optimax fuel is fine, in fact v.good with octane booster. Lag is reduced greatly by having correct octane, incorrect octane e.g.95 for normal fuel, 97 for Super Unleaded, 98 for Optimax will give turbo lag and damage pistons at high revs.
  12. Tesco are good - £1200 for my Aristo Vertex turbo.
  13. The ARS light will be a dodgy MPH to KMH convertor, remove this and run the car in KMH and this should solve your problem or replace with a Blitz product. Cruise control is Limited to 70MPH / 110KMH on the Aristo Vertex. Yoshi. www.lexusvertex.com
