Now there are just four more exterior mods in the pipeline; my Seibon CF bonnet (will hopefully get painted this week), my TRD side skirts, my new rear lights and a bit less height. EP Racing are very cheap. If you don't mind modifying fibreglass it's definately worth bying theirs. Thanks Stav. Hello everyone, As I mentioned in my previous posts I still have a problem with my car horn. I know the sound of it quite...well , not that manly but I would like to hear it. When I press the middle part of the steering wheel the horn does not engage...so I've decided to open the steering wheel and here is how it looks like. Clicky I've noticed few things: 1. The father plug at the bottom, near the white plug is broken. I think that should've been the plug where the airbag unit should've been connected. 2. There is only one wire for the steering wheel. Is that OK? as on my previous cars I had like couple of wires there.... 3. My bank account will take a hit if I go to Lexus to fix it. I've checked the fuses and everything. They are OK. The unit is working as if I lock the doors with the bonnet open and close the bonnet the alarm goes off and thats connected to the horn. So is this look normal to you? Any other pics would be really good just to make a comparison and see what I need to order from Lexus...or wreckers most likely.... Thanks in advance for your help

hi, just making you aware that you cannot dim or bighten your speedo/dash led lights via the switch, its a bit like trying to turn down the intensity of an energy saving bulb via a dimmer - it just doesn't work. Well, how do you explain the fact that other people can actually dim or brighten the intensity via the switch but I can't?

No I haven't change the disks. How do I adjust the shoes to reduce the travel? Is it hard to do that? If you could explain, it would be great. Cheers

Hello everyone, Yesterday, I changed my rear brake pads. The problem is that when I pull the handbrake, the wheels are not being locked in...they are still going. The car eventually stops but not as before changing the brakes where the wheels were locked instantly when I was pulling the handbrake. Do I need to bleed the brakes? If yes, how do I do that? Well, i used the inverted angle normal LED's from Ebay. They do light up and work but I can't seem to be able to modify the intensity of the light. The light is quite dim, and not as strong as I owuld like to be. Strangely enought, the dimer works if I use the factory bulbs.

Where the sat nav should bem I have just a pad that it needs to be removed,....i think. As for the lights I am just wondering if I need to add another regulator or something ....I am lost now.... :shutit:

Hi all, I managed to install new LEDs for my speedo, fuel gauge, etc but the light is quite dull. I turned the regulator left and right but still nothing. Does it work only on normal light bulbs and not on LEDs? Is there anything I can do to increase the intensity of the light of the dash lights? Next job is to the A/C unit but it seems very hard to remove the felt liner. I've tried to stick a screwdriver in there but still...are there any bolts that I need to remove or is there a trick or tip I can make use of? Thank you in advance for your help. I will post pics when I am done.

Hello everybody, I hear a noise that comes from the rear of the car which goes away only if I press the brakes. I think it might be related with the fact that my rear brakes need changing but I would think that there might be other causes...wheel bearings or something else. Quite hard to locate the noise though.... Anyone?... Thanks in advance.

Yep, sounds like it. But I think that the power source is recharging while I am driving and it works after ..say 20 minutes of deive. It takes like 10 pushes on the button to work but it kicks in. And it works for like couple of minutes lock unlock ....I am guessing that might be my key....or it might be the internal power source ...i dont' know. It worked before, no problemos ..but now it drives me crazy. Maybe someone who works for Lexus might be able to tell me. I've spoken with someone from Service Lexus and they told that it might be something to do with "initialization" whatever that is.

I've changed the battery today with a new one. It didn't work right away but after 15 minutes drive, when I used the remote it worked like a charm. But then after few hours of sitting outside ....again the same problem. Phil mentioned that it might have an internal power supply separate from the main battery. I will call Lexus tomorrow and ask them if there is a separate power supply. If anyone know what the cause might be, please let me know. or if there si any way to fix it .... Thank you

Hi there, Well, I've changed the battery few weeks ago hopping that will solve the problem. I will change it again just to make sure I dont have a preob with it. The red light on the key goes so I think the battery it's ok???? I might be wrong.

Ok, so couple of weeks ago I disconnected my car baterry for about half an hour. After that I tryied my remote control and it wouldn't work properly. It was taking me like 20 -30 seconds to get it working. Today, I received a new shell for the key as the previous one was in a very bad condition. Since I replaced it ...it doesn't work at all. I change over the internals and everything but still no worky...I know this is the masterkey. If I insert it in the ignition, the security light goes off instanlty....it would be a good idea to get another one. Anyway....long story short, I tryied to reprogramm it but altough I get into the programming mode(door locks lock and unlock automatically) I can get the remote to work. is there any way to reset it or something? So ..i need help with this. What am I doing wrong? is there anything I should check. The battery seems to be ok as the red light goes on and of but it seems that there is no signal or something. ..I am very confused. or more likely :duh: Cheers

I got in touch with a really helpful chap in Australia. He managed to track down two bumpers, but unfortunately the first one was the wrong model and the other one was a replica. He told me that he's going to keep looking for another one in Australia and NZ. Meanwhile I've started trying a different approach. There are a lot of Altezzas for sale, with the Legana bumper fitted. I figured it might be possible to convince one of the owners to replace the bumper with an original one and sell me the Legana. I therefore started going through British and Irish used car websites and found two Altezzas with my favorite bumper. I e-mailed both and one of them answered. You cannot imagine my pulse raise when I read that he’s actually thinking about replacing the bumper before selling the car. However, after a bit of correspondence I found both pros and cons of buying this one. The downside is that it turned out to be a replica and that it has no fog lights. On the other hand, it obviously fits nicely and better yet, it’s platinum ice. I’m currently awaiting a bit more info and some closeup pics of it. This morning I spent two hours searching for used cars in Japan. I found four platinum ice Legana Altezzas and e-mailed all the dealers. Two of them (Suzuka trading co., ltd. and Global harmony trading) replied quickly. The first one kindly informed my that they can’t accept my request. The other answer was pretty much the same, but they also told me that they sell replicas for ¥30,000 (£230) that look like this The best source for used Altezzas with the bumper I want seems to be NZ, but as I don’t live there I can’t register a TradeMe account which means I can’t contact the sellers. I won’t give up, though :) Never give up mate. Well, as I mentioned to you in our corespondence , I will be able to get replicas for quite a good price from NZ with fog lights and mesh. It would be really price effective if someone could organise a group buy in UK, and I can send them from here. Otherwise, I will keep an eye on TradeMe as you I suppose, and if something comes up, just let me know and I will contact the seller straight away with no problems. As I mentioned to you, TradeMe is Ebay in NZ... everyone sells everything on TradeMe. I am registred on TradeME and I can ask questions with no prob. I've actually bought just few days ago a grounding kit for my Lex. Just let me know if you see something that might be of interst. Cheers

HI there, I have a play in the Left outer tie rod end. I was wondering if I need to replace the tie rod or is there something else I need to do. Is it hard to replace it? Any infi on how to do it? Also does anyone do aftermarket tie rod end for Lexus's Is200.

Have you guys heard of this one? Doe it make any difference in power?
