  1. Never liked the Falkens I had on mine when I bought car four years ago,so got rid of them as soon as I could, however have heard good things about Vredestein as I was talking to a guy who deals in tyres and he recommended them especially the all season one.
  2. Prices seem to vary widely, you can get them cut for as little as a fiver or pay as much as twenty, just depends.
  3. Good advice especially if you don't know exactly what you are looking for.
  4. Alternatively you could also try cheaptoyotaparts on the web too, pretty good, may require your vin number.
  5. hi of course you are,you can buy a blank key fob off the bay(try top fobs) and you should be able to have it cut in Birmingham if not I know a mobile guy.
  6. hi,updated the disc in my IS 200 three years ago and it cost me £139.00,in order to avoid buying the wrong discs,go to lexusmapupdates and input your current disc number and it should give you the part number for the updated disc or better still pm ACLex on here(LOC parts dealer) and am sure he will be able to help, will pm you his work number if needed.
  7. To be honest with you,you will come across that,I did, went to a place I had previously used and was told they no longer cut them because can't guarantee they will work as they didn't supply them and can't be held responsible either,I know a mobile guy that does will pm you his number if you need it.
  8. You should be able to tell if the transponder is damaged as it won't work properly, but from what you have said seem to be just the casing.
  9. what do you call badly damaged?the transponder is a complete unit, held together by two screws inside the fob,so if that is in itself not damaged then you shouldn't have a problem, just unscrew the fob from near the top of the blade take out the transponder and put it in the new fob.
  10. hi,as already said, just buy a blank key fob(try top fobs on eBay)have it cut and transfer the electronics/transponder to the new one,and all should be okay.if you have any problems am sure you won't be short of advice from here.
  11. hi,what brand of tyres have you got on?remember it's rear wheel drive, have you had a full geometry done on it recently(tracking and alignment)
  12. how many years ago was that, its usually every 60,000 miles or 6 years, which ever comes first, don't forget, idler, tensioner and possibly water pump too.
  13. Do you really think you can tell the difference a 250 ml bottle of redex will make?not too sure you will notice much.
  14. hi,chances are if it hasn't got Lexus on it,then it's been changed,in which case water has probably got in to some of your electrics which in turn is probably responsible for your auto lights staying on.
  15. Hi do you know if the windscreen has been replaced in the past at some stage?if so is it a Lexus one or Pilkington one?
  16. Once you get the ball joints and suspension done, you will need to have a full geometry done.
  17. As informative as it might be,not one to take chances or gamble if its due a change it gets changed, always better safe than sorry, furthermore costs alot more when it snaps/damage it causes.Peter you might as well consider putting in a disclaimer before someone in future decides to sue (eg I will not be held responsible for any damage caused,if you do not change your cambelt as and when due),simples.
  18. Yes it has as rubber does perish over time even when not used hence eg(6 years or 60,000 miles)whichever comes first
  19. Well I use Heeley Alden and have done for the last 18 years
  20. or have a look in the service history book if you have one,it lists items that need inspecting, changing, intervals etc
  21. Hi,from what I can get off the web it seems to be every six years or 60,000miles,however if you do have a owners manual this should have the information you need or confirm what I have just said.
  22. Ok if it is not open to interpretation - what is a EML(its a warning light yes?)should a car in for a MOT have any of its warning lights permanently on?(they are meant to go out after a few seconds if nothing is wrong or there's no fault). The EML indicates a fault if it stays on as does the ABS light. So as a tester what's the difference, both indicate faults so why regard one and disregard the other????
