  1. Haven't got mine anymore, so I can't check, but my recollection is that there is a manual switch on the light in addition to the auto switch that works when the boot opens. If it is switched off at the manual switch, the boot remains in darkness whatever the position of the lid. cheers this sorted it Sorry to be lazy but my boot remains in darkness too. Where's the manual switch? Thanks in advance. There is a switch for trunk light in the glove box.
  2. They are called wind deflectors mate. I'm planning to get this as well. Do you think this will survive the auto high pressure car wash?
  3. It has so many "small problems" that need to be addressed. *sigh* Don't know if it's normal to have so many problems with a brand new 2009 IS250 sport. Or it just bad luck? Anyway, here are the problems... 1, Fluttering noise in the cabin when step on the gas. Most noticeable around 2000 - 3000 rpm before next gear kicks in. Sounds almost like a bit paper stuck in a wind tunnel and apears on the passenger side. The cabin is not as quiet as before anymore, sometime I start to think that I have a 220D and not 250. 2, Viberation noise from inner rear mirror. Problem is with the whole thing, as it constantly make noise, doesn't matter how you adjust it. Really annoying! 3, When turning with blinker switched on it make some clicking noise ( NOT the normal blinker klcik) from the steering wheel. Sound almost like some cable is loose in side... 4, The power telescope/tilt steering wheel hit the brake pedal (pretty hard sometimes) and make the clunk noise when start the car. Strangely it doesn't do this if the steering lock is on. 5, Squeaky driver seat. 6, Rattles everywhere in the cabin when the car is warmed up. Specially the frame around the SatNav. Clicking noise from behind when driving on rough road. Sounds like when you hit the table with your hand and with the ring on your finger. 7, All of sudden the wing mirrors doesn't tilt as much in reverse as when the car is new (3 month old) so I can see the curb. also, the mirror at passenger side doesn't tilt as much as driver side. 8, A gap between the head light housing and the bumper om drivers side. No gap on passenger side. Found this when I washed the car... 9, A gap beside the start button. Larger than normal (compared it with other 250 at dealership). 10, The front passenger door closes very hard. The frame above the window can bounce a bit when close the door normally. Drivers door closes little bit hard too, but not as hard as the passenger door. Definately nowhere near to the solid feel as the demo car in the showroom which I love. 11, Squeaky brake. Sounds like open an un-oiled old door in the morgning. What's up with the Lexus quality control? This cannot be the L-finesse Lexus is so proud of? Anyone else have any of the problem listed above? Anyone experience so many problems with their brand new car? Will keep you updated. Over and out!
  4. Very nice mod! Congrats! Now you need to get some IS-F wheels and a F-sport exaust!
  5. I try not to exceed 2000 rpm until mine is up to normal operating temperature, and it doesn't take more than 5-6 minutes of driving (2 to 3 miles). Not exceed 2000 rpm? wow, you drive that slow? :winky: Well, It takes definately longer than 5-6 minutes for engine in my car to warm up. I don't idle my car in the morning and the first motorway ramp is like 3 minutes way. No way that I can keep rpm under 2000 LOL I just try to not exceed 3500 rpm
  6. Not at all. Never in my last 3.5 years of ownership. Thanks Tango. will go back to my dealer and complain! I didn't recall I heared or feel the clunk before the tech fixed the click noice from my steering wheel. The techs at my AD (only lexus AD in the city) is useless, instead of fix a problem they just made some new problems and claim its normal! :tsktsk:
  7. If I shift fast from P to R, D to R or R to D and step on the gas to get away fast there is no clunk and all pretty smoth. But, If I Shift from P to R slow and hold down the brake pedal few sec I can feel a little little clunk like it telling me what the gearbox is doing. I think it's quite normal. And yes, the operation of the shift stick from P to R is a little bit stiff from the begining (my car is 2 month old) But I learned to quick move the stick to right with my thumb (None UK style) and pull down it to R with my 4 other fingers. I can do this really fast without any slowdown :)
  8. I have power tilt/telescoping steering wheel on my 250 and now after the dealer fixed the clicking noice issue I had with the steering wheel, I got a loud clunk noice when the steering wheel moves into the position every time I start the car. I can feel how hits the break pedal when making this noice And sometime I can feel that it hit the pedal pretty hard. I mentioned this to the dealer and the tech said this is normal and wont do anything about it. Now the question... is this normal? Does this happens on your car at start up? Thanks!
  9. About the day/night mode... You can switch the lights to night mode by turn the "light nob" 2 step forward and just before "Auto". This dims the dash board, change the colour of the Nav screen and lights up all texts om the buttons when you are driving at night. But, I found that it "dims" the xenon low beam as well. When in this mode the xenon low beam is not as white/bright as in day mode. I have no idea why it does this and I don't really like it.
  10. I wonder the same about the high beam. I was thinking to ask dealer on my next visit... Also, when you switch the head light to night mode the light get weaker than day mode. Don't really like it... Some one can explain why? And according to the dealer there is no way you can get rid of the start up warning.
  11. Thanks for the welcome! Here are a couple crappy pics of the car :) Spy photo a week before delivery on dealers lot Week after delivery
  12. Beside the SatNav and USB, there will be a F-sport version of 250 with IS-F grill, IS-F steering wheel, IS-F front seats and ISP wheels. I belive the price will be sky high compare to regular version... Funny that the "F-sport" version will not be equipped with any F-sport options (intake, exaust etc...)
  13. Did you lowered it on OEM sport springs or F-sport springs? It looks like same height as my stock 250 sport with 18" Nice looking rims by the way :)
  14. I have some kind of metal clicking sound as well when my car goes over dumps some time (not all time, and not too loud. It didn't do this in the first month of the ownership, but comes after awhile of driving on rough roads.). Maybe it comes from the floating brakes or the sport springs. Just a wild guess Ps. Lexus is just too quiet and you can hear all these small noises.
  15. I use this for my SE c905. Works fine. And it got a cool led lamp on the connector
  16. Hi all Lexus lovers, New member here. Has been checking out this site since I ordered my fully loaded silver 2009 IS250 Sport in March. After 4 painful month of waiting I finally got my car delivered in late July. Main purpose of the car for me is drive to work and back. So far the car works just fine. It has pretty good handling and it is fast enough for everyday driving (although I wish it could has some more HP). Really hope for a trouble free ownership of this car! :)
  17. Nice colour of choice! This was my first choice of colour as well. But since my dealer doesn't have a 250 with this colour nor can get one to demo I was unsure how it looks in real life and order a sliver instead just to play safe. The colour samples at the dealer and in catalog looks really bad compare to the real GFM.
  18. Congrats! The car looks great and so does the rim! I almost got these rims for my winter setup, but I went with the star shaped X wheel instead. I think it will looks even better if you lower your car a bit :P
