  1. Hi, I am thinking of fitting LED brake light bulbs to my MK1 RX300 and would prefer not to fit load resistors. The following post gives details on how to do this on an IS200 - www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t34759.html Can anyone with a circuit diagram tell me if this is possible to do on a RX300? Thanks Martin
  2. Hi, I'm trying to remove the indicator relay in the drivers side kick panel but as much as I pull, it won't come out. Before I get medival on it - should it just pull out or is there some locking mechanism? Thanks Martin
  3. I had the same noise you describe. Just replaced the front antiroll bar bushes. Its seems better but I'm not sure if i've also got some noise coming from the brakes now. I'll post back in a couple of days when I've had a chance to test fully.
  4. How about a Toyota MR2 MK1 T-bar. They handle better than the MKII :D :D
  5. That was brilliant. He reminds me of the comic - Dave Gorman.
  6. I replaced all the shocks on my 98 MkII at 98K, mainly as there were problems with uneven tyre wear. My friend who did the work said that when he checked them after removal, only one of the shocks was in need of replacing. The replacement shocks were KYB's. The ride is now marginally firmer which is not what I personally wanted. I'm not sure that new shocks will solve the 'jiggly' ride problem as this may be a 'feature' of the GS, others may be able to comment.
  7. Weston-super-Mare (unfortunately) Gold GS300 - currently fitting DAB radio adapter and starter button.
  8. Thanks. I guess the OBDII interface has some kind of output for g-force/brake position but this can only be sampled once or twice a second?
  9. Hi, I'm thinking about installing an LED braking light that flashes (probably illegal) during hard braking on a MK2 GS300. Does the brake pedal have a position sensor which I could tap in to? Perhaps if anyone has a wiring diagram they could check for me. The only other methed I could think of detecting a hard braking situation is to make some sort of g-force sensor using a spring and contacts (very Heath Robinson). Thanks Martin
  10. Great to hear Geoff is back. He has been very helpful to me in the past with electronics questions. Welcome back. Martin
  11. Wow, thats incredible!!!!! Respect for having the b@lls for doing this, it looks fabulus. Very inspiring.
  12. I had a simular problem where the bonnet would not close. The bonnet cable was worn/stretched. I mananged to add a 1/4 inch type washer which took up the slack in the cable and enbled the bonnet to latch.
  13. MAKE/MODEL: Fulda / Carot Extremo SIZE: OEM 17s (235/45-R17) MILEAGE: 15k THREAD LEFT: 1-2mm (approx) DRIVING STYLE: 100% Gentleman, 0% Agressive OTHER NOTES: Cupping wear on the inside of the near side front and rear tyres, causing horrible noise. Going to replace them with Continental SportContact 2's.
  14. Thanks for the pics. The exhaust trims look an excellent fit I shall be getting some of those.
  15. Very nice hardware. Looking forward to the install pics. What software are you planning on using as your front end?
  16. I have the same problem with "manky" chrome exhaust trims. Are the ones on ebay tappered\cut at a 45 degree angle (difficult to tell from the picture), the same as the ones on the GS? Thanks
  17. Hi fluff34567, I am also looking for some new tyres which are low noise, good comfort and safe. My current Fulda Carot Extremos are awful - very noisy due to uneven wear. The replacement shortlist is (bad points noted): Continental ContiSportContact 2 (?) Dunlop SP Sport 9000 (noisy as they start to wear down) Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 (dont last long and noisy) Michelin Pilot Primacy (very poor customer reviews on tirerack.com) Yokohama AVS dB S2 (noisy after >5000 miles!) After much research I finding it increasingly difficult to make a choice. The reviews on various websites (eg www.tirerack.com, www.tyretest.com) seem to contridict each other not to mention the customer reviews on www.tirerack.com. Kwik Fit are currently offering 4 for the price of 3 on Continental tyres which is tempting. Let me know what you decide.
  18. Managed to find the jpg drawing of the audio connection. Dont know how to post a picture that is not a web link. Let me know if you need a copy.
  19. The relay that switches the sound over is controlled by my carpc rather than a seperate switch. So that when I star Winamp one of the actions the software does is to switch the sound from the Lexus cd player to the carpc sound output. The Lexus Sat Nav can still be heard while playing mp3's as it uses a different input to the amp.
  20. The carpc sound output from the four wires (left+, left-, right+, right-) each have a large electrolytic capacitor (non polarised) in series with them. They go to the lexus amp input via a relay which switches between the lexus cd input and the carpc.
  21. Yes, the silver box in the pictures contains the display converter and also the relay which controls the switching between the pc and the sat nav display. I must thank Geoffers for his help with the rgb info. The sound output from the carpc is integrated in to the stock amp. Let me know if you want me to send you the hookup diagram.
  22. I used a dash switch mounted to swap between the carpc and sat nav. See http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread...highlight=lexus The carpc has been updated since this but it give you an idea. The green switch is the manual power switch and the black switch above it is the display switch.
  23. Jdmparts Guru Do you have the names of any companys which can re-finish my existing steering wheel? (mine is also beige/Suffolk) Thanks
