  3. Hi all, I was washing my car and noticed this Its behind the bottom grill on the near side. It looks like it has one of them plastic plugs/screws and its come loose or snapped. does anyone know what it is ? has anyone encountered this before? I cant get to without taking the sport grill off and getting my fat arms in there - but atm its just dangling :( any help would be be greatly appreciated
  4. Yeah that grey colour looks amazing, I nearly bought one in that color - then after giving it a good look over and negotiating price I did a Hpi check - foudn out it was a CAT D and the guy didnt mention it at all. You can imagine what kind words I exchanged with him! :tsktsk:
  5. Hi Dan, whereabouts are ya? I had mine done at city powder coater in brum, took about 9 days - finished in sparkle silver, look amazing - £20 a wheel they charge £10 to take of and re-fit tyres though.

  14. thanks for the replies, will give that a miss then. found the genuine toyota oil filter for £9 off there no will go for that. Are the K&N's any good? I had a Tom's Super street ram 2 air filter on before- but wouldn't rate it - paid something like £54 for it, luckily managed to sell it on ebay later on :) am i right in thinking the K&N filters last a lifetime, u just need to oil them up and blow them out once a year?
  15. Hi all, getting my oil and filters changed, just wondered where is cheapest to by the oil and air filter? fleabay has them for £19 delivered. I don't wanna use my local parts place, they quoted £340 just for rear dics and pads :tsktsk: , dread to think what they charge for filters lol
  16. very interesting post. Ive had falkens on my Is200 before, they were very cheap - never again tho. they lasted for approx 9,000 and they were beyond legal after that. Ive had Dunlop sports on for 22,000
  17. Thanks for all your replies, and especially the link to that bargain set :) Im having some tyres put on tomorrow, so I'll have a quick gander at them while im there, then if need be get them fitted when i have my filters and oil changed next week. thanks folks - drinks all round :D
  18. just had a look at their site, kust what im looking for to promote my site on my car ! may i ask what width you went for please? It was 36" width Bit more info on it for anyone else - 1.5" height (you will have to request 1.5" height in 'order comments' during the checkout procedure as the default is 2" high. Font used was 'Handel'. 36" width btw measures exactly 4.5" gap at each side of the rear window and i lowered the sticker i think 2.5" from the roof trim (from the 'W' & 'K'). Perfect fitting as through the rear view mirror i can only see the very bottom of the 'W' and the 'K' :D Very good website, its ran by the people who do Demonplates aswell. Ian. Thanks for the info Ian :D youve saved me a lot of measuring (and swearwords) I think that sort of Decal will be ideal to promote my new website
  19. need a balljoint doing, gonna ask my local mechanic to do it, along with my normal filters and all change every 5,000. what is it likely to cost ? he only usually charges £15/20 an hour labour
  20. as hard as it may be, never go over 55, accelerate gently (a third throttle) and you will get 38.1 mpg , like i recently achieved
  21. how about TOYO proxes? see a lot of them on special off ???
  22. are there any winter tyres anyone would reccomend? i wouldnt usually bother but at the moment I have 2 sets of alloys, perfect refurbed ones (summer set) and some that need refubing, which im gonna have for the winter. just in case. the snow was dreadful last winter, so wondering if winter tyres would make a big difference ? im thinking i might get a good deal if i buy a full set of winter tyres and 2 new ones for the front atm
  23. Used daily for the work commute, the front were replaced at the same time. Cant remember the exact date but they've done 20,000 . I check the tyre pressures once a fortnight. the only thing i can think of is that the other one was just an older tyre in the first place? is there a manufacturer date on them somewhere?
