  1. im really annoyed because they last really well , wel wear wise anyway, but for them to perish like that is just unfair !
  2. hi all, One of my front tyres appears to be cracked all over. Is this bad? should I replace it? its stil has good tread 4-5 mm (its a dunlop sport tyre) I need to get one for the near side anyway, but im just wondering if this is bad or not ? any advice would be appreciated, i have no idea thanks
  3. felix, ive just read under you Avatar yours is an auto, would this make a difference on the motorway?
  4. I know some of you wont believe it, but i know those are the figures and have been as accurate as possible. Like you say, i would like to do something similar again at the end of the month. yes i sat behind a lorry the whole way, between 55 and 60 mph. I had an indicated half a tank (well one notch under) left this includes traffic lights and stop start driving too! but i am very concious now about mpg, im not one of these that straight from accelertor to the brake, coast it in gear etc:) Felix is yours an auto?
  5. Thanks for that. :) thats very good, im impressed. Altho for 210miles of the journey I sat at 60 behind a lorry on the M6, i arrived in warrington relaxed and calm - usually i don't hang about on the motorways - but it jut goes to show how much of a difference it can make
  6. Hi folks, As i filled my IS up on thursday I decided to zero the trip and work out my mpg. I had an initial journey of around 210 miles ( Leicester - Warrington ) and a couple of commutes to work and some stop start. I just don't know how to work my MPG out ? please see figures below :) 315.1 Miles 37.56 litres - to top her back up (£44.28) cost @ 117.9 a litre hope you can help me out people? for the whole motorway journey i didn't exceed 60mph - so lets see if it makes a difference
  7. just had a look at their site, kust what im looking for to promote my site on my car ! may i ask what width you went for please?
  8. it wont be a write off mate, had a guy go into the back of mine last year, needed new boot, all the rear prtaically (the pan that hols the spare whatever u call that?) new rear light, spolier, and a back corner re spraying etc. if you go through your insurance, dont use their authorised repairer - i did a place called just car clinic and they were the worst! Go to lexus if you goin through insurance, you'll get a top job and a nice courtesey car ;)
  9. Very nice PJ. Are they a popular car over there?
  10. Glad its nothing too expensive and you've sorted it :D
  11. yes i have to agree, i also feel a slight loss of power when air cons on
  12. Hi all, I need a new set of front tyres. the near side tyre is bold on the outer edge for approx 2 inches - while the rest seems to have at least 5mm on :tsktsk: while the other side has perfect even wear - but needs replacing as the rubber has began to perish (small cracks etc) :tsktsk: so is this caused by a fault in the suspension etc? or is it just my tracking ? I regulary check my tyre pressures - at least once a fortnight so I dont think its to do with in-correct inflation levels
  13. i had a jet that didnt work at all, and like you said i used a pin (idiot i know! lol) I took it into lexus cov and they replaced them for me, only £23, which didnt break the bank :)
  14. Hello, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you cant. Well not in an IS200 anyway. However if you just need to put a long length in you could un-zip the little port hole behind the arm rest on the back seats if that helps?
  15. Hiya mate, got a hell of a dilemma there ! lol have you looked at the Merc M classes? some of them are 7 seaters and seem to be quite cheap atm. Just a thought ?
  16. hope you dont mind me asking, but whats the tax for an is300 on that year? surely not £400+ ? ?
  17. thats one seriously nice looking IS300 - good job mate :)
  18. hiya mate, usually i used to see the average price of £45 a wheel. someone on here think it was felix but not sure recommended a place called city powder coaters. I used them myself, and since then my friend who has an Audi S4 has used them too. the quality is superb - and a £20 a wheel unbeatable value. this price does not include removing and refitting the tyres tho. and it took them 2 weeks to do my wheels. I had mine done in sparkle silver and they look amazing :) perhaps Birmingham is bit too far from you?
  19. not sure yet as to when to get it resprayed..get a gut feeling it might happen again... yeh not a bad point for getting 2 invoices..i need to find out with my insurance company. word of advice mate -if you go through your insurance, dont let them send you to a place called "just Car Clinic" those were recommended on my insurance and they did such a Sh*t job, worst customer service ive ever experienced. Had to go back 3 times! and its still not right - wish i had just gone to lexus coventry and got it done
  20. hiya mate, sorry to hear about this. any accident is bad news :( any chance you could put some photos up of the damage ?
  21. I get between 25-28 in my manual sport, in a mix of stop start and dual carriageways. its all about driving smooth, and i never really make an "anal" effort to maintain a decent MPG. If its hot i put the air con and if i wanna go some i give it some revs. but it always annoys me when i see these people with their foot to their floor right up until they're on top of a roundabout, you should leave it in gear and just take your foot off for a couple of hundred yards before, and when you do this every day you'll soon see a big difference in your driving and fuel bills! smooth is the key ! I use my car to commute everyday - I spend about £50 a week on fuel
  22. very nice : ) good price too, just make sure that cambelts been done matey
  23. have you tried a local scrap yard mate?
  24. never charged me mate - im 22 and ive never had to pay any exra for insurance etc just make sure you book a week or 2 in advance so they can reserve one for you :)
