  1. It can and has been done in 3 hours by ormi i believe. I wasnt in a rush to do it and put halo lights in at the same time so it took me alot longer. If you are just spraying them black, then its very easy. At first I was like "I want to do it but dont want to wreck anything" but I did it and im glad. I put the oven at about 100c left them in for about 5 mins and then just kept trying bit by bit (take it out prise it abit, back in oven, take it out prise abit etc). Just make sure you have sand paper, primer and paint. You can get it done in a weekend easily. The hardest part is getting the lights off the car. Just ask if you have any other questions.
  2. Ok thanks mate no worries. anyone know anything about the electrics?
  3. Not so far mate everything seems good. I put them on the car yesterday about lunch time and they are still fine so i assume they should be fine.
  4. Nothing major but figure it may be useful. When I first started doing it I used a small screwdriver like suggested before but this damaged the grey casing. So instead I used a paint scraper 2.5 inches wide, which did not cause any damage at all and made it easier to remove the lenses. cheers
  5. ah right I didnt actually pull the whole thing out, I tried but it wouldnt come. I take it thats what has happened though. Is it possible to fix this without taking the light out on your GS? cheers
  6. Hi all Basically I have just done the black headlight mod and also fitted some halo lights aswell. They do look great by the way. Only thing is, when they are connected directly to the battery and the car is running they work fine but when they are connected to the sidelights, the large rings are dim. Whatever the voltage is that the altenator charges the battery with is perfect for the halos. But why isnt that voltage getting to the sidelights? Is there maybe a surge protector or voltage limiter of somesort? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks Just one other thing, I tried pulling the headlight adjusters out and now one of them makes a noise but doesnt adjust the light level. Is it kaput?
  7. Felix There is a company in Nottingham called blueprint who do all kinds of signs and car wrapping. I went to them and was quoted less than £160, may have been £130? for having bonnet and roof wrapped in black (gloss i think). http://www.blueprintnottingham.com/ Havent had it done yet though so cant comment on quality but they are always busy.
  8. Excellent looking car mate. Like what youve done with the front bumper, and the wheels really suit it.
  9. When mine went the mechanic checked out how much for a repair kit from lexus and it was £160. a refurbed caliper was £90.
  10. You need to remove the glove box by taking the two hinge pins out and then you will see it at the top.
  11. oh the old is200 caliper lol i have had three go so far. the last one the seals were about ready to go on, which caused the brake fluid to leak and the handbrake/warning light to come on. i was quoted, £90 for a refurbed caliper fitted, or, get ready for how stupid this is, £160 if the mechanic was to get a seal and piston kit from lexus and do it himself. Not a hard choice. Almost seems like its worth uprating the brakes instead.
  12. ok mate well getting that pic as it is was a fluke. i did it using gimp. its like photoshop but its free. im abit more used to it now so if you send me a pic ill have a go but if you want to try yourself, feel free.

  17. Ive got the toyo proxes t1r on mine and cant fault them at all. very good tyres and great value for money. Had them put on just after i had the geometry setup and it made a huge difference.
  18. I had this not too long ago with the handbrake light coming on at random times. Turned out the seals on a front caliper had gone. but obviously the fluid level had gone down.
  19. Its a coincidence that this post has come up as through no fault of my own i havent been able to drive my IS for exactly 2 months today but i went out to start it up today and the battery hasnt even got enough in it to start it up. gutted!
  20. I could get about 400 to a tank if driven gently but just recently I found it went to below 300. So i took the airfilter out and cleaned it (it was ditched) which i think made it better but i have now put a new k&n drop in airfilter in and im back upto normal.
  21. Hi I have trawled through past posts but have not managed to find answers for these questions. Im looking at some Tenzo springs that lower by 50 mm. People say that lowering this much on stock dampers may knacker them up. Has this actually happened to anyone? Also does anyone have any experience of cobra suspension lowering springs? Thanks
  22. Ok heres the thing. My handbrake warning light goes off when i disengage the handbrake. But when accelerating a little harder than usual the light comes on higher up in the rev range. then it goes off when i take my foot off the accelerator. Any ideas????
  23. Good stuff chap. cant wait to see the pics. ill have a look into getting a meet topic sorted.
