  1. hi not sure if its ok to post a link to another site on here but if its going to help you then i figure why not! (remove it of not, and if not i apologise in advance) http://my.is/forums/f221/how-change-your-main-gauge-cluster-ignition-ring-lights-leds-pics-359216/
  2. hi mate and welcome. Calipers are notorious for seizing up. they area around a sticking caliper will be much hotter than at the other wheels. Absolutely great cars though. cant fault them apart from they could do with a tad more power.
  3. ahhh the old seized is200 caliper. It should have its own section on this forum lol
  4. Ok lol where are the bolts to take the rear seats out?? or how do you take them out? no worries done it now thanks stav ;) ;) ;)
  5. Agree with lance. Brakes need bleeding. I drove out a garage after having a caliper replaced but they had not been bled properly. tried to stop but just kept going! lol Bled the brakes and it was fine.
  6. Marc_is200 has just done a similar post titled "Engine problem" describing the same symptoms apart from overheating. Turned out to be the clutch. (its about 4 or 5 posts below this one)
  7. Excellent cheers for the reply chap. Much appreciated
  8. Hi Im not able to run my car for quite a while now, but it has about 3/4 of a tank of petrol left in it. It may sound like a daft question but what is the easiest way to drain most of it so i can put it in my mrs car. Tried syphoning but seems they have an anti syphon trap. thanks
  9. You can do the headlights yourself. Plenty of guides on here of how to do it. I have !
  10. Well spotted there fjcfarrar! Youve been well and truly diddled if youve got an 06 IS200
  11. The cable that goes from the accelerator pedal to the throttle body is in a plastic/rubber sleeve and goes around the back of the engine. Follow that to the back of the engine at the top. Thats the throttle body. Where this ends and wraps around the "D" shaped part, thats what you want to twist. Correction. its not at the back of the engine, its on the right hand side of the engine. ( i was getting mixed up with my mrs golf.)
  12. is there a walkthrough for this anywhere? I see there is for the fog/brake/tail conversion but not for the flashing.
  13. is the flashing mod illegal? or is it legal because you have solid brake lights aswell?
  14. Hi I have mentioned this before but am still not sure. When I did the headlight mod I tried removing the leveling motors but they would not come out. As a result one still works but the other doesnt. The motor makes a louder noise now but does not adjust the light level. Is there a way of taking them apart or have I shot it? Cheers
  15. Ok mate didnt know that about the moisture. Im a sparky and its not like normal electrics have that kind of problem. Is this because auto electrics are "sensitive" so to speak? Im in the process of installing halo lights, so now I know that want to do them properly. cheers
  16. scotch locks are not the best thing by any means but for something as simple as this and if you dont want to chop your wiring apart then why not.
  17. I just used halfords grey primer and black satin paint. also i just reused the old glue. havent had any problems.
  18. Ive watched this once and thought it was awful. Never again. Like bluesman said, you will never get another three as good as ours.
  19. Just wondering if this is possible or am i being stupid? Just so they come on when the engine is running and thats it. thanks
  20. If you havent done this already its dead easy. take your side lights out so you can so you can stick the wires from the drls in to find positive and negative then like you say just get some scotch locks and crimp them on. mine are on my side lights.
  21. Just be careful in the snow mate, nothing like driving a landy lol
  22. I didnt know that about it being self learning. But if it is programmed to revert back to the previous map, cant it be re-programmed not to? Or maybe put a chip in (piggy back)? Not sure at all, just making suggestions really!
