  2. Hello Nmac, my excuse is i have been fighting with my audio unit! had my hand stuck behind the amp for the last few days
  3. Was it Sparkystav, found this thread for you.... http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=68000
  4. Fixed it!! Checked all the connectors they were fine, checked the HU that was fine... so that lead me onto the missing wires.. i connected a switchable live to the red connector and it all worked, so i slighlty modded the wiring and its working a treat! will post pics later, thanks to all involved. :D
  5. The ebay link lead is the same as the one i have with two pins. Side view Top view Thanks for the input Shahz, will try scraping my knuckles again with the amp later i think ;)
  6. Thanks for the replies. Checked the cable and it is the one as posted by shahz, as you can see the bottom connector only has two pins!?! Not sure if it was a genuine autoleads one mind Will have another play when this poxy weather clears up any other info would poss be a help if anybody else has had a problem ta!
  7. Have a 2000 IS200 Sport, with the usual non working audio, so decided to install a new double din unit. Purchased a JVC KW-XR811 All well and good me thinks, get a Bypass cable from Ebay job done or so i thought........ Wired up switched it on and nothing.. hmm but i could here it powering up when connected, but pressing eject lights up the unit as does pressing the display button if only for a few seconds. check everythings plugged in, check instructions, ah is some babble about modified wiring on the JVC loom which i try but that does nothing no power at all... I then take a closer look at the leads... This gets complex so bear with me! :duh: The unit comes with a ISO lead with plugs into the back, and the other end into the bypass cable. 5 wires going into it red, black, blue/white, orange/white and yellow. Lower connector in picture but the end of the bypass lead that connects to this only has 2 wires yellow and a black. top connector in this pic Therefore no connection to the red wire which according to the instructions is "accessory terminal" so i presume that i have the wrpng bypass cable? but looking on ebay, obviously there is Non amp leads and Amp leads, and the end that connects into the amp connector is a long white one not the double one. So am i doing something obviously wrong yet i can see it or have i the wrong lead?? I have searched through all the "relevant" threads but couldnt find a solution , any help would be much appreciated
  8. Not really, you can get a blank key cut to one of your old ones, or if you got a genuine key it would be cut to the chassis number of the vehicle.

    Hello and Welcome! :)

  11. I decided to "mod" the Toyota one, sort of following what p.lindblom had done to his, very carefully cut of the back of the pocket with a small hacksaw, then filed it down to get rid of rough edges. Then filed a tiny part of the original heated seat switched to make them fit snuggly in the hole. Used some block felt to line the pocket and some foam in the back to keep the switched in the correct place and they dont move at all result! Got a audio unit ready to go in, just waiting on a Amp bypass lead from Fleabay to arrive now... Will post some pictures when all done B)
  12. Hi and welcome Very nice looking motor :D You'll soon be bitten by the Lexus modding/cleaning bug
  13. Hello and Welcome first and foremost When i was looking for a IS i found this forum a very valuable source of information (and still do), but you have to do a lot of searching this link i found helpful http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/knowledge/index.php?page=index_v2&id=41&c=5 and of course the important spec sheet! http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=2100 But the only main thing that i could say that isnt covered by the above is go with your head, and dont rush into buying the first one you see. As for reliability, if you look after it properly then it will look after you, (bloody bullet proof!)
  14. Free image hosting site http://photobucket.com/ Welcome!
  15. Have a look at some of these.... http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=1161& http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=46907 And for removal of the dash tray.... http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=2160 I have a 2000 IS200 and the top dash tray pulled off towards me, but have a look at the above as there are 3 diff types, i originally was trying to pull the felt off, but realised it was screwed in!!
  16. There is a few on a well known auction site at the present..... ;) but your better off ditching the original and fitting a aftermarket audio
  17. Have got a genuine Toyota double din facia part number 55413-53010 all ready for a new stereo system, but it only has the one switch hole for the TRC/Snow off switch, im looking for ideas as to where to put the Heated seat switches Have had a good old search and found some info from very old threads i.e http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=54114&mode=threaded but the question of how the switches were held in was never answered, and the pictures that sparkystav put up of his setup have now gone Any help/idea's would be highly appreciated
