  1. Falken ziex 912's get my vote. Had a set put on just before chrimbo. Very sure footed in the wet and so far been good in the dry. Low noise on motorways also. I got mine 70 a corner fitted. Bargain!
  2. Try kwik-fit you can see what's in their service plans on te net. An interim for my is200 was 145. I looked at full and think it was around 185. You can upgrade to oem spec and change the oils also.
  3. OIL FILTER, AIR FILTER, POLLEN FILTER + 5L LEXUS OIL 5W30 £79.95 on lexuspartsdirect.co.uk 6 iridium ik20. (denso's) £48 on sparkplugs.co.uk 6 sk20r11's 10 or so quid more. Keep an eye on lexusbirm on flea bay. They occasionally put out is200 service kits or parts at good prices. Not sure why you are replacing the coil packs, never bought any myself. Hopefully someone will come along with a price. Oil...most recommend 5w30 fully synth but others say 10w40. The above kit specifies 5w30 Hope this helps
  4. Quick question, is it the drivers or assented seat you are testing? Am asking as the drivers warning light is in the instrument cluster. The passenger light on the centre consol. I would check under the seats in case of a loose connection in the wiring underneath . Otherwise it could be just a faulty sensor in the seat (I'm guessing this won't be cheap to fix). Finally, if I remember correctly the belt warning only comes on when driving over a certain speed, so just sitting on the drive with the engine On may not be enough to check .
  5. Doh! That seriously makes me look stoopid. Every time I search I just keep turning up an old auto express article. Cheers.
  6. Beautiful. Where do you guys find this stuff. Makes for a compelling read. If I had seen this 7 years ago I would have sold the wife to finance a from new purchase. :whistling: :whistling:
  7. Ok this is quite a pathetic question to ask after having had my sportcross for over a year, but were there different spec's akin to the saloon I.e s, se and sport? I am trying to figure out if I have a LSD or not but the paperwork I was given when I purchased the car just shows the model as sportcross. I have half leather, drilled pedals, ali scuff plates and there were 16"s on the car but they were shot so I found a cheap set of Lexus 17"s on the bay.
  8. Was it the Sony xav60. was looking at the unit on the web last night. At 349£ it looks a bit of a bargain. Make sure you come back n tell us what it's like once fitted
  9. A cam belt change on my is200 come in around 450 When changing cam belts it's advisable to check the water pump whilst there. A cam belt kit including tensioners cost me around 150. The pump 100+ 200 ish in labour. I had this work done locally, not at a lexus dealership, I'm sure they will charge more.
  10. I have recently replaced the head unit in my is200 sportcross with an alpine ida x101, which sounds fantastic however: I have noted that since cutting the amp out of the loop, I have lost the use of the subwoofer located in the boot of the car. Having looked at my head unit I now realise that this is because via the alpine connector block, my head unit unfortunately only has four channels. FL/FR RL/RR. The sub woofer out is on an RCA connector!! So...my question is as follows. I was wondering whether (with some time and patience), I could retro connect my new headunit block into the old wiring loom to the amp, buy an rca cable, cut one end off and splice it into the old loom also. This I hope will get the old sub firing back up again.. Or.. does anyone know the specs of the Sub? Could I just buy an amp, rca connect my sub woofer output from the headunit to the amp, and then pick up the wires for the sub from the old loom and fire it up that way.(does anyone know which ones they are?) Or... do I live with just the 8 speakers..(shame tho)
  11. I think you be will ok. I purchased the same cable and it worked fine with my alpine, but if in doubt, email the seller or consult your paperwwork for the head unit to see what iso connectors it has. Re other cables, I needed nothing other than an aerial connector.
  12. Oh.. It's easier to get to if you remove the glovebox. Search for threads on amp bypassing and I'm sure youll find a guide or two
  13. The amp is behind the kick panel in the passenger foot well. Bolted to the side. not sure if it can take an auxiliary sub input tho
  14. Japcar parts are quoting 157 all in + 18 I think for the cover.
  15. I followed the following guide http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=46731&pid=490034&st=0entry490034
  16. Just coming back to this old post, but for those of you in Essex I couldn't recommend anyone other than j.p polishing in Canvey. Just had my 17"s dipped, stripped, and powder coated for 180£ all in. The finish is frankly awesome. If I could ever get pics to work on here I would but put this co in your little black books. The service is great.
  17. Dinho what are you planning on doing? In your previous post you mentioned amp bypass cable but also cabling direct to your amp. So... 1. If you have located your amp on the left hand side of the passenger footwell (behind the glovebox) the connector you need is on the rear edge facing the bulkhead. Its a tricky begger to get out as you havevto squeeze the locking pins on the top and bottom of the connecter whilst removing. As there is no space i found it easier to unbolt the amp from its brackets. Once you have the connecter free, simply plug this into your bypass loom and you are done. 2. Can you wire you new stereo direct to the amp...no idea but ive heard that the cabling between oem stereo and the amp is non standard so you cannnot just hook in your new stereo (its why theres an after mkt bypass cable.....if you cannot just push the old cabling and coonector blocks out of the way of your new stereo and really must cut them, just make sure you wrap any loose ends in insulating tape.
  18. To be honest i was same as you so ended up undoing the two or three clips holding the amp in so i could get my fingers round the connecter well enough to push the locking clips in on either end of the connector. Helps if you take the lower left trim panel off (kick plate on left of footwell)
  19. I paid just over 120 for the timing belt kit from lexus southend just over 6 months ago. Come fitting i was advised to fit new water pump so i would say look around 200-250 all in. A quick snoop round eurocarparts and theres a non oem kit for 150 http://www.eurocarparts.com/timing-belt-kits
  20. Yep far left with what look like cooling fins. The side facing the firewall holds the connection you need. Its a fiddly job and helps if you have small fingers, but you need to pull the long connecter out of the amp. This is the output loom which leads to the speakers. Once disconnected you should see on your bypass cable a matching connector. Connect the two and you have now bypassed your amp.
  21. Single iso alpine for me. Autoleads facia kit and appropriate amp bypass cable. All brackets etc inclued in the kit so you should be ok . Fascia kits look imoo different in color and texture to the car interior so i rubbed it down then high build primered it followed by a coat or three of plastikote satin black spray and it blends perfick.
  22. As per topic title i'm looking for a wheel refurb in essex, but i am struggling to find the best value for money. Any loc members out there who have used anyone and can recommend them can you drop a note below. Cheers.
  23. If you google image search "is200 black alloys" theres some pics out there. Also if you search this forum for 18" wheels theres quite a few posts where people have posted pics of their cars with black alloys. Hope this helps
  24. So I ended up with the falkens. Will keep you posted on my thoughts.
