  1. It'll be worth the wait. I've a 200, love it to bits, just keep finding places to drive. ...
  2. I have standard 7j 17"s all-round with 215/45/17 Tyres. Gives a slightly harsher ride than the 16" for obvious reasons. For the 300 they recommend 7.5j 17"s on the rear with 225/45/17 Tyres http://teamlexus.co.uk/articles/UK%20Lexus...t%20IS300SC.pdf If you are buying the car to modify, then 18"s and above look great, but to get the most you are then talking coil overs, sway bars, arbs etc...the list just gets longer. If you just want a slightly sportier look than the standards and slightly better handling then 17"s are fine.
  3. Had my is200 17"s refurbed by John a few months back... Honestly the job he did was awesome and I even felt guilty when I went back a few weeks later to tell him I had scuffed some of his good work up. Not the best picture in the world, but...
  4. A lot of people refurb and put Lexus stickers on, but as you say, I'm not aware if there was any oem branding of the calipers.. Are they stickers or painted/stamped?
  5. The amp bypass cable plugs straight into the head unit. It replaces the block of cables that you have already removed. The other end of the cable connects to the block you will remove from your amp.
  6. Bargain! I paid 5k 18 mths ago for an is200 sportcross with 48k on the clock! Enjoy, they are great cars. Agree re alloys, mine got quick sold and replaced with standard 17's. Wished I'd kept the 16's for winter Tyres tho. Gets a bit slippy in the snow n ice. Fun but grey hair comes through shortly after a quick spin or two...
  7. Do you get any bulb warning lights? I've heard certain LEDs need load resistors on them to stop dashboard warning lights coming on. Btw I agree with your stance. They do may the car look a little more modern. Nice
  8. The finish of your polish looks amazing. What did you use?
  9. My stereo keeps randomly changing channel and track without any input from me. Oh no hang on, that's the wife who doesn't like my taste in boing boing music
  10. Couple of other links for you http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/g_E_2003_LEXUS_IS200~300_GXE10L-AEFVKW_1.html http://bahamutcars.free.fr/workshop/IS_98-05/index.html Good luck if you can find a dash tray, they are rarer than hens teeth, and command quite a hefty price. If you do find one but dont want it, post it up on here, there's more Ghana a few people looking. Enjoy your new car..they are very addictive
  11. Got a full set on my sportcross. So much quieter than my ol dunlops but then the dunlops were low on tread. 3000 miles so far, no sign of premature wear and I even got out in the snow in them and they faired well. Great motorway driving also.
  12. Alex Kay, are you saying you have an aftermarket head unit running through your oem amp? I was of the opinion that this was the holy grail for us is200 owners as until now I have only ever heard of amp bypass cables. Can you let me know where you got your cable from. Cheers
  13. Hiya and welcome to loc. Best bet would be to take a photo of the connector blocks you have and post them up here. I'm sure someone will be able to eyeball them and let you know if they are standard or have been replaced. My advice for what it's worth would be to get a cheap aftermarket double din unit and use that as it's likely it will fit straight into the hole and use the sAme connections as the pioneer did. Also have a quick search through the audio visual section, there's loads of good stuff (including pictures) which may help you identify what you have got.
  14. Crash and burn. What are you trying to do? As far as i am aware you cannot connect aftermarket head units to the oem amp. The inputs are rated differently which may explain the rubbish sound quality. When changing head units, the only option is to replace the amp and splice into the original loom or use a bypass cable as mentioned in previous posts to bypass the amp completely. The latter I have done similar to ormi and can vouch I works fine if th correct bypass cable is used.
  15. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=46731&pid=490034&st=0entry490034 http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=46907 There you go. Many of us have followed these two posts to get us where we need to go. Good luck and be sure to come back with some pics. Oh .. And finally....Welcome
  16. Had mntex discs fitted around a year ago. Had no issues and feel good under the foot.
  17. Will put one up when I get home. There ya go
  18. Heres my anthracite against the granite sky body.. Not best pic in the world..
  19. If it helps, here's a pic I took a while back. Not the best quality
  20. Get the front discs checked professionally. A disc has only to be out a fraction of a millimetre which can be invisible to the eye but when spinning at say 3000rpm you sure will notie it. Am speaking from experience here as I had exactly the same problem. On mine all looked ok, but if you ran the car ip above 50 and went hard on the brakes you could feel a shudder through the whole car (but more noticeable through the brake pedal).
  21. I've done mine in anthracite, looks nice against my granite sky paintwork. What colours your car?
  22. Did you have to download it all a page at a time or is there a sinlgle link to a large file?
  23. They are pre gapped To 1.1 for an is299 http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/pages/pricing/ccp/denso-sparkplugs.asp
  24. Not normally a big fan of White wheels on black cars, but as it's only the thin rim, I think that works well. Good job
  25. George is correct. There's no RCA input on the oem amp.
