  1. I was going away to say alot but i cant be bothered. Im confident ill be fine with the setup ill have. It WILL be an improvement on what ive got! Not going to say anything else now until ive got through this weather crash free or not.
  2. ****** sake now im a murderer eh? Ive bought tyres, not been fitted yet. So please stop making a big fuss about it, if you care so much buy me another 2!
  3. Emm no, the front has been fine throughout the snow. Unless what im doing is totally illegal and ill get points for it ill buy another 2 but for now ill stick to my guns and eat my words if i have an accident
  4. Why not? Im not willing to spend £480 on tyres for 3 months use per year.
  5. ive just ordered 2 tyres for my is200. 205/45/17 nankangs at £118 each! they were much cheaper the guy said 2 months ago but we are being taking advantage of now because of the weather.
  6. If it were me id have towed it out the way so its blocking the whole road so that it gets moved asap
  7. i think i was really lucky in finding a set of 50mm lowering springs. theyve lowered it by around 60-70mm though and the ride comfort is no different! got them off ebay from a place in ireland
  8. hi mate looks like a great buy you got there! mileage means nothing by the sounds of what ive read on here. one small thing to do is check the timing belt for wear unless its been replaced recently. they tend to wear against the top cover. it only takes a couple minutes to check it, good luck with the project!
  9. Just check for fuel and spark over each cylinder. Possible water got in somewhere
  10. Cheers for all the info, i know if i need to use my car regularly then it will be some steelies and snow tyres. Temporary fix is socks or chains, will keep yous updated with what i try and if it works :)
  11. See the snow we have here is the worst ive ever seen. I cant see it getting much worse and if it does we will be stuck indoors and no need to drive, It really is that bad! Ive cleared around the road side of the car, got 10L of petrol, got to jack the car up, clear the snow out. Plywood down on the ground, rip the guard off from underneath the car, get lots of sand/salt/bricks in the boot for weight and hopefully get the car home!
  12. Lol its just insurance, swapping it over etc. Ive got my micra in my only lock up. So the lexus would have to stay on the road, im thinking lots of weight in the boot and get the undercar shield pulled off. If im off tomorrow due to the snow ill be getting to my car and attempting things :)
  13. So should i just forget about driving it while theres snow? What do the snow socks do? Does my car have an lsd? And lexy that would be great if it is, i can only find out once the snow has cleared though :) Cheers
  14. well me the girlfriend and our 8 month old boy went out today to do some shopping at asda in the very very white dundee, we set off at about 10.45 and got breakfast from a place up the road which took 1 hour to get to. however i thought nothing of this once we made it to asda a couple of miles away. we left asda looking forward to getting home, which i didnt until 17.00 without the car as i had to abandon it the lexus is so **** in the snow/ice, ive ruined 2 of my freshly painted alloys with being sucked towards kerbs, also something on the underside of my car has fallen down and is ploughing the snow so need to know if snow chains are going to work im going to drag my micra turbo out of my garage to tackle this weather which it will easily please help as i love the car but if it not doing it job its gotta go
  15. someone put up a picture of them fitted please
  16. ive paid for the gold membership but i cant put a for sale ad on the for sale section....help please
  17. purely a guess but aint it from in the boot?
  18. How hard is it to do the fog conversion? Id like to copy :D
  19. Right i had a new one sent out free of charge and it fits with a bit of adjustment :) only thing is i dont like them! There too tinted for my liking so i am putting them up for sale. You will get a set of lights and the one that just doesnt fit properly. £150 including delivery thanks michael
  20. Yeah they are and since checking the website again ive got it wrong. Ill see if they can do a swap as i dont fancy spending over £200 again. Problem is its been about 4 weeks since i paid for them, i dont want to wait again
  21. i spent another 3 hours on the car today. fitted the spacers that eventually came. the annoying thing is that i bought 30mm spacers and i received 2 15mm spacers! so there will be no pictures of how much they are out until i speak to the company and see if theres a mistake. i also got my centre caps done and the calipers :) so heres some pictures: SPACER FITTED CALIPER FINISHED CENTRE CAPS THE CAR AND PART OF MY MICRA TURBO thanks for looking
  22. A better tip for wheel bearings, when jacked up and the wheel is spinning. Grab the shock absorber, if its rumbling its the wheel bearing. Garage showed me this 2 weeks ago when i got the o/s/f replaced. Compared to the other side it was a HUGE difference and the car is now silent
  23. Its easily done yourself if you have the confidence. If not national windscreens are good
  24. I dont see why not. If i remember right it goes from the crank pulley to the air con and over the water pump. The water pump has its own belt so it should still work fine
