  1. Hi all, Are there any views on this forum about when cooling system components start to fail. My IS200 is touching 80k, and has had a new water pump under warantee at about 40k. Was just wondering about the rest of the components e.g. rad, hoses etc. Cheers, Paul
  2. I have the Grom Audio iPod cable - it's brilliant! About £70, plugs straight into the back of the head unit and the connector is routed behind the dash through to the iPod in its cradle to the right of the drivers wheel, so it's all hidden. Sounds fantastic and charges at the same time - can't recommend it enough Grom link Oh, and the head unit can also control the iPod e.g. next/previous track etc.
  3. Would also add the infamous 'knock', usually on the n/s/f. I've had it for a long time, am just about to get the o/s top mount replaced as that's the only thing left to change. I'll report back.
  4. When I had mine done last year, I was considering doing it myself (but didn't coz didn't have the time/patience etc.). I Googled the kits to find the price (about £150) and all of them had the pulleys IIRC. Ebays' the place to look - loads of kits on there for reference.
  5. Or just get a Grom Audio iPod interface for £70 and have your whole collection at your fingertips. Mine is brilliant and was a doddle to fit.
  6. Apologies all - seems I'm behind the times. IS200d it is indeed.
  7. Er - is this in the right forum group? They didn't make an IS200d, did they. IS220d, yes, but that's the newer car so needs to be in a different forum.
  8. Chhers good people. Anyone notice a difference between IK20 and SK20 in everyday driving? BTW, off topic but I just replaced all my wheels for the IS200 (5 spoke ones). £65 each inc. fitting at Lexus Woodford. The car looks like new again, and I love it.
  9. Hi all, I'm going to purchase and fit these soon. Are they pre gapped? If not, what's the gap?
  10. Picked up Castrol Magnatec 5/30 for half price in Tesco's (£8.50 for 2 ltrs)! Result.
  11. Cheers all for the replies. I'll see what price Lexus charge for 5L of fully synthetic, and then look at Opie oils. I've got to go in to lexus Woodford next week anyway to pick up new wheels. I think £65 each for them is excellent value (but then, it is their fault they chose a wheel that bl@@dy well corrodes with the slighest chip).
  12. I'm sure it's been asked before, but not much turned up in a search. What oil gets the thumbs up for the IS200?
  13. Hi. I've had my IS200SE for 5 years, and have had no problems with tyre wear. I get 17 - 20k out of the fronts (currently Goodyear F1's). Something is way wrong for yours to munch through them like that.
  14. hi i have had this on my car for ages and mine is the caliper carrier slider pin hole worn, try driving down a road you know it will knock on, and lightly use a bit of left foot braking if noise goes away then its the carrier hope this helps I've had my IS200 for 5 years and still have an o/s/f knock/clonk. Lexus changed the front legs twice under warantee and it would go away for a few days then come back. I wouls like to cure it though. Can you post a pic/email me one that shows exactly the part of the caliper to inspect?
