  1. Thanks Rayaans, what settings would you suggest need changing? Am supposed to be going to Belgium on Thursday - don't want to be ending up in Spain!
  2. Thanks Ten Ninety and Ace8800. Good to hear. Was asking because although I really liked my IS 220 it was renowned for little issues such as creaky dash and problems with EGR and DPF. All of which I had. The Premier was only choice I had as it was all the dealer had! Am looking forward to collecting it tomorrow. On first impression when we took it for a test drive it seems a step up from the IS quality wise. Off on a long weekend to Belgium from Thursday so hopefully will get a good feel for it. Am a bit concerned about the Sat Nav as that was pretty good and accurate in the IS. Not too bothered about auto wipers, auto lights and auto main beam as I prefer to do these myself when conditions suit. The two things I'm really looking forward to are the ML stereo (can you call it that with 17 speakers!) and seats although reckon it might take me a while to get it right with so much adjustment!
  3. Hi all, Have just put a deposit down on a 2014 GS 300h Premier. Is there anything dodgy I should be aware of? Have just traded in my IS 220 which I loved and was looking for a 2014 IS 300h but saw the GS, took it for a drive and was hooked! Cheers, Ala
  4. Forget all the technical stuff. I feel sorry for the front passenger who's going to end up with a very painful right arm. The only place for them to rest it is on a hard bit of plastic with a couple of cup holders for comfort. Did Lexus not put a passenger in the seat when they designed it??

  6. Has anyone had a chance to drive the new IS yet? Drove one at the weekend and was quite impressed. Wasn't sure of the hybrid as have driven CT's and they were horrid! The worst thing I found with the new IS was the stupid armrest for the front passenger. Made of hard plastic with a couple of cup holders just where your elbow goes! Handles really well though. Am interested in others thoughts.
  7. Thanks both. Will be going away for a couple of weeks in October so will see how it goes then but suspect a new battery is in order. Haven't checked the windows yet. Don't really understand what that's all about. Seems strange to me.
  8. Hi All, I wonder if anyone can help? My 220d was left standing for three weeks and when I tried to start it the battery was completely flat. I have a couple of queries regarding this: 1. Is it normal for a battery to go flat so quickly? I cannot remember this happening with any previous cars. 2. I have noticed a couple of anomalies since restarting it. a) the fuel average seems to have reset itself and is now showing exactly the same as the tank average. Also, the speed light on the speedo which I had set to 80 has changed to come on at 75! Is it normal for these to have happened? I've not noticed any other oddities yet but is there anything else I should be aware of or look out for? Thanks for any help, Alan
  9. I want to go for it cause I think the restoration they did before they sold me the car was obviously substandard. However, I'm looking for a 'case study' to hit them with. I've also got a couple of interior rattles and buzzes I hope they'll sort out too - before the big head gasket claim! I love the car but am beginning to question the so called Lexus quality and reliability. Traded in a 10 year old Volvo to buy this and inside that looked as good as new when I sold it. Not a buzz or rattle to be heard and the leather was much better!
  10. Has anyone had a successful claim for corroded alloys with an extended warranty? I have a 57 plate IS220D which I bought just under two years ago. The alloys had been refurbished when I bought it but now some of the finish has come off and they're starting to corrode. There are also some blisters coming through too. This is not down to 'kerbing' as it is between the spokes and they haven't been kerbed. Any help in support of a claim would be much appreciated.
  11. Thanks. When's that warm day coming Dazed? Might give auto glym a go. I use their stuff for the paintwork and am impressed with the results.
  12. Thanks. I do tend to switch it off but assume that any misting should disappear when I use the screen demister.
  13. I have tried many products and methods to clean the inside of my windscreen to no avail. I always end up with a sort of patchy haze which looks like it's steamy up slightly but the AC doesn't seem to get rid of it. It looks worse in bright sunlight (ok, not a major problem!). It's driving me nuts. Have never had this problem with other car brands. Am wondering if Lexus put some sort of stuff on it to prevent misting? Have noticed the screen is not an original Lexus but a replacement Pilkington one. I believe it's correct as it has the elements in the bottom for the wipers. Does anyone else have this problem?
  14. Thanks Jason and Normski, Is this something that the Lexus dealer should do during a service? And how is it linked in to the DPF? I keep reading about short journeys clogging it up but is it temperature or revs that are need to clean it? I do a lot of longish trips but tend not to use a lot of Revs. Sorry if these questions seen a tad nieve! I'm getting between 41 and 42mpg per tankful on mainly motorway/suburban roads. Got 45 on a run down to the south of France a couple of months back and that was averaging 64mph topping out at the occasional 90! I don't get any problems with 6th at 70 so long as I don't have a hill to climb. Cheers.
  15. Hi All, lent my car to my brother who has put a nice burn mark from a cigarette in the trim on the drivers side A pillar. It's beige (Oakham interior) so shows up and is in my line of sight which drives me crazy. Does any one know where I can buy a replacement panel and is it easy to fit? Not yet asked the local Lexus dealer as am sure it will be very expensive to do it through them!
  16. At the risk of sounding nieve, where can I find the EGR valve?
  17. "Whats worrying me is that I had actually done a 200 mile trip from London to Manchester so was driving in 5th at about 2.5k revs all the way home. So surely should have had enough temp to burn of the soot and clear the filter" Is it temperature or revs that are need to clean the DPF? I do a lot of longish trips but tend not to use a lot of Revs. For some strange reason I can use 6th at 70mph!
  18. Am I the only one who wishes the IS Forum was divided into models? I've nothing against the 250 but only really want to find stuff about mine especially when it's technical specific.
  19. I'd like to ask if anyone has got theirs changed/repaired through warranty?
  20. Had an IS 220D for just over a year now and can safely say it's the best car I've had. Prior to this had a Volvo which had great comfy seats but more engine and wind noise than the Lexus. Have recently spent 8 hours at the wheel driving back from central France and not an ache to be had. The only time it can be noisy is on concrete motorways but not excessively so. I have 17 inch wheel. Would definitely recommend. And dealers are second to none.
  21. Have always found this company good: http://www.simplycarmats.co.uk/lexus-is220-car-floor-mat-10781.htm
