  1. The first post sums it up entirely! The pre-facelift (from what I recall) is less reliable too. Be warned though all the 430's are, like any Lexus, very expensive to repair, it's very rare and parts are hard to come by. I'd still buy another facelift tomorrow
  2. That's the same colout combo as my MkIII. Very nice shind up like that. Both my LS's are green - neither really out of choice! lol. The 430 is Olive green
  3. Unfortunately I have know idea. This isn't a particularly well populated forum due to the rareity of the vehicle so hang tight, it may take a little while to get an answer. You could also try the US forum?
  4. I've just got my MKIII back from a friend who borrowed it (nice feeling being back in it - MOT this week too). Before it went the remote boot release had stopped working on my remote key fob. Now the door unlock is unresponsive. Has anyone else had this or know a possible reason or fix for it?
  5. Pre Crash System. Its linked to the cruise control system. Its a radar guided system that knows whwn you're going to crash and get you and car ready for impact. The adaptive cruise keeps you at a set distance from the car ahead. Normal cruise just keeps you at the speed you want. ACC/PCS was only on vehicles post 2005
  6. Hi, if its a facelift model (5 spoke alloys) then that sounds a good price for such low mileage. Make sure all the toys work and check the cambelt status as said. MPG will range mainly between 17-28mpg. Insurance is basically a joke! Tax is £270. I run mine on LPG and its cheaper to fuel than the girlfriends Ka!
  7. Yeah I'm not sure the £20 eBay ones dim though; unless you can point me in the right direction? I certainly wont be paying out over £100 - I'll just live with it if need be.
  8. I'll second the clay bar and tar remover. I use Autosol on chrome trim, brings stuff up lovely - get a bit on your exhaust trim with some very fine wire wool - shiney!
  9. I've noticed recently that my 430's driver door mirror is not dimming in the dark. The rear view and nearside wing mirrors work correctly. Any ideas?
  10. This is a good find, but what can be used to access these hidden menus?
  11. Can anyone tell me just how much oil my Mk3 and my 430 need in them please?
  12. This is good to know. I'll buy some now myself. I didn't want the canbus error. Of course the facelift has LED tail lights already but I imagine there is still a light failure warning of some type. The way to access the number plate lights is through the boot trim as stated above. I do have a guide on a CD manual but i don't have it to hadn to copy and paste the instructions
  13. Scour the classifieds etc for a breaking car - you might be able to get the part you need from a donor car.
  14. I think the snow mode turns off at about 30mph. I think it's more for setting off. You should be ok, but as said, take it steady. I have snow socks for my 430, used with high suspension setting and snow transmission you'll find your car suddenly feels like a four wheel drive!
  15. Hi, and welcome, I can't with the camera although knowing what little I do about car electrics I doubt it will simply be connected to the reverse lights. Not all facelifts had Bluetooth so check for the telephone option in the menus
  16. I used snow socks that I bought a year or so ago for my Octavia. I never had the opportunity to use them until today when I braved my steep road in 6 inches of snow. Car in snow mode with socks on motored through it. I was amazed as my Ka had given up at the bottom of the same road not half an hour before. Even some of those with 4x4's had given up. Neighbours and sledging children looked on in amazement as I passed effortlessly by in luxury surroundings. Brilliant!
  17. I'll second that! Or is that third it?? I want to fix my MkIII's seats. On another note the 430 front seats seem to take a long time to start pumping through warm air - is there a way of speeding them up? Replace the air filters maybe? I don't know why that would help. The rear elements get red hot almost immediately; I wish the front seats had them in. Brrr
  18. Dynamic Handling Pack - stiffer suspension and those wheels. Not sure of anything else
  19. I sure do! I take her out every now and again and have leant her out too! She never gives me any bother, I still need to sell her but I'm emotionally attached! Pound for pound I think it's probably the best car I've ever owned. No worries with the advice, it was a pleasure!
  20. Happy New Year to you all, it's nearly a full year since I bought my MkIII and what a year it was; I was so impressed (as I knew I would be) that I replaced my long time love, my Octavia vRS and purchased a lovely LS430, and I'm one happy camper :D All the best to you all.
  21. I can't stand fake blue effect bulbs so I went for Osram Silver Nightbreakers for my MkIII and I'm very impressed by them, they're no match for a factory Xenon but they're an excellent OEM replacement.
  22. Take the bulb out? My pad wear light used to light up after putting the car to full lock at low speed. A change of battery sorted it for me.
  23. Nige, did you do the install yourself? Where does the box go? Do you have anymore pictures of the kit in place? Very interested in this bit of kit
