  1. Replacing oil every 6 months seems a little over zealous. My Skoda didn't need it doing for 2 years at a time - although this seemed too long to me!
  2. At it's age and mileage is it really worth getting Lexus to do the service? It won't recover the value when you come to sell the car. You might be better off paying an idependent to service the bits you want, and you'll probably pay less. Lesser dealership services tend to be no more than a look under the bonnet, fart in a bag and stamp your book. I have a Lexus service paid on already but after that I'll be doing the work myself or getting my friendly mechanic chum to do servicing work. Sorry that this doesn't answer your question but I thought I'd throw my two penceworth in. Does it say in the service book what should be done at that mileage?
  3. http://www.vaistech.com/dev/mml.php Here's the link in the US The next is from Australia, where mine came from http://www.advancedi...-Input_6/MML-L1 Nige, this looks a great bit of kit, will you be doing the install yourself? If so... pics please! :)
  4. Get a 430 and impress your friends with the massage seats - which as I just found out - change strength and style with every press of the on switch!
  5. I have a MKIII and a FL 430. I'm totally sold on the 430. It is sublimely comfortable, yes its not as quiet as the 400 but I think its better, more modern looking and with an LPG conversion you'll be laughing all the way to the bank! It has all the kit that modern cars have now and more and although you can talk to your Ford Fiesta these days there is no way that you could achieve the same levels of luxury that you do in the 430 for the same money. I love my 430 and realy feel the man about town when I'm out in it. I'd avoid the pre-facelift though, it just falls short in kit and reliability stakes from what I've seen, it's also a bit ugly in my opinion. I still enjoy the 400, it's very soft and very quiet but it falls short on kit by a long way.
  6. Could that link be pinned somewhere? In the guides section maybe? Ultra useful - good find!
  7. I don't think so, that sounds to me like you drive short distances around town! lol I seem to get only about 20mpg but I'm only really dong short distances too. I'll be trying the PWR thing tomorrow.
  8. I know it has the twisty knob but if they're 'auto' why does it have this? Seems to me the wipers are adjustable and not really auto.
  9. It just seems strange that there is a manual speed control as per the 400. It doesn't have an int setting just auto.
  10. With my wipers set at Auto they just work as they would as normal intermittent wipers, they constantly work even if its dry and I have to manually speed them up or slow them down. Am I missing something or are Lexus just being misleading?
  11. Is it broken or just stiff? Mine was stiff but after some physical exertion, in the same direction as I was pushing the button, it freed up and now works perfectly.
  12. Spend what you want to spend! For me I always wanted a facelift so I got one but don't pay over the odds! A 53 plate facelift is worth no more than about 5500 - 6000 tops no matter what any dealer tells you! You may have to be patient but you'll get one eventually. Be careful if you want one with the adaptive cruise - buy after March 2006 and you'll be paying £430 a year in tax!
  13. I leave mine unlocked as its about the only way I know to keep the alarm off. Its still immobilised though so does drain the battery but not quite as quickly. Just make sure you remove everything from the car and ensure you live in a good area! I'd perhaps consider buying a battery charger. You could get a solar trickle charge which you could leave on the car when not in use?
  14. Thanks - so if you cross enough of Europe you have to unscrew the DVD drive and change the disc?? Blimey.
  15. Sorry, this has probably been asked repeatedly so for that I apologise. What is the latest LS430 Sat Nav disc update for the whole of Europe (or UK at the least)? Where can I get them from and what can I expect to spend? Can second hand discs be purchased? Do all four DVD's go in the machine or does it read and copy the data on to a HDD?
  16. Have you got the service book? It tells you the difference in there. I think in general they examine more stuff
  17. I was shaking like the proverbial when I won the auction! Very much looking forward to tomorrow.
