  1. I changed my mind and took the extra discount changing to the SFX kit. Jon advised that the difference in the pads was not too great so I thought "why not". You can of course buy the DAS pads or kit seperately and Autopia have a franchise in the UK where you can also buy the Porter machine complete with transformer etc. Here is the link: http://www.thepolishingcompany.com/foryourcar.html
  2. I understand that you may be unhappy with the quality of an RX but I thought that your disappointment was based on comparing it to the undoubted luxury of a new BMW 7 series. There would be very few cars in the world that could compare to that one. An X5 is a different kettle of fish as is an RX300. However if you are in the market for a new car and your shortlist contains a luxury saloon and a 4X4 then I doubt that anybody could talk you into a Lexus given that you don't like the LS.
  3. Not exactly like for like though, is it? A BMW 7 series should be compared to an LS and an RX300 to a BMW X5.
  4. There is one thing which is unarguable and that is that it will be a dogs dinner when it does arrive. Nice to hear your opinion of Our Leaders troops which I share and there is no doubt that if it were entirely up to them then Murdoch would be in charge of the BBC as well as the rest of the Government. The answer of course is to stop the public funding of the BBC and abolish the licence fee. The BBC has been turned largely into the Blair mouthpiece for political purposes and they (New Labour) have used the charter renewal as a cosh to beat them over the head with. However the image quality of almost any form of HD is so dramatically good that I think technology will have its way in the end.
  5. And I said "LG have released the first true high definition Plasma TV with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080p" :winky: ← And you are correct sir Mind you at 28,000 Dollars and weighing 250lbs it ain't exactly mainstream. No sign of it in this country yet though.
  6. Quite right Aido. Mind you the BBC and ITV are currently shooting a lot of their stuff with new HD camera equipment and they will not be far behind SKY. Still think it will be 18 months or so before it's worth buying anything.
  7. There is such a thing as true HD TVs - there are 2 sitting in my place of work. They are CRTs though which were designed for HDTV in Japan, Korea etc. Plasma and LCD have went towards computer screen resolutions, because it was the only real HD source available in the past - that's all changing now though, LG have released the first true high definition Plasma TV with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080p. Probably won't be cheap as it's 71". ← Yes, but if you look, I said, "either LCD or Plasma". As far as I know there are no plans to introduce CRT HD TVs for general sale in this country. Mind you CRT is superior to any other technology at the moment and you never know, somebody might introduce a PAL model for europe. They are very big and heavy though especially at the sort of screen sizes (32"+) which are popular here.
  8. There is no such thing as a "true" High Definition TV, either LCD or Plasma. HD compatibility means that the set has the necessary HDMI or DVI connection which will carry the HD signal when it starts being broadcast. Each set will have its own native resolution which will in turn need to be converted to as near as possible the resolution of pure HD signals. The new Sharp is probably not aimed at the HD enthusiast but at the price it sure offers value for money. Have a look at: http://www.avforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=104
  9. Almost certainly it will. If you get the chassis number of the RX then Lexus will let you know what is compatible. Lexus Bolton Parts Dept. did this for me recently when I upgraded my 02/02 IS300. Have to admit that 2004/5 Ver 2 does not give much extra compared to 2002 Ver 1. Just more obscure countries in Europe for the most part as far as I can see so far.
  10. when you selling your leathers ← ← dhuh :duh: your avatar look like a nice set of leather seat's :winky: ← It must be my age. Used to be able to understand things much better. The leather is the standard fitment in the IS300 SX.
  11. And here's another (mine). This is the 2002 DVD which has a lot more info on it. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...AMESE%3AIT&rd=1
  12. Unfortunately there is a blank space with two locating holes for the original Altezza badge. It looks odd if you don't put some sort of badge/logo there.
  13. With Astral Black the chrome is an asset. With most other colours especially the lighter ones, I would probably agree with you.
  14. Will be very interested in the response you get as mine is due soon. Lexus Bolton have quoted me £155 and somewhat reluctantly offered a 10% discount. Mind you they do collect and return your car and leave you with a courtesy car whilst it's being done. I have an IS 300 so I do not know if there is a difference in the costs compared to the IS 200.
  15. I got it from someone in Japan on Ebay. Cost me £65 all in. Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...TRK%3AMEWN%3AIT
  16. I ordered some polishing bits and pieces from Autopia on Thursday Evening at 11pm and it all arrived safe and sound this afternoon at 3pm. Allowing for a weekend that was a fantastic performance. Shame there is no automatic discount for LOC members but even so I am delighted by this standard of service and the way they do it minimises the risk of any customs or other duties. You would be exceedingly lucky to get that sort of response in this country. So well done to Autopia and I will be back. Kent.
  17. What a b****y good idea. Thanks Mr Morse.
  18. New Altezza Grille arrived this morning from Japan. I have done a temporary job with wire to fix the Lexus badge on. Does anybody have any tips on permanent fixing or a different badge perhaps. Heres a quick pic.
  19. Whitney Houston "I will always love you" Written and first performed by Dolly Parton in 1974.
  20. Take the bus home with the fit one and give your car to the couple. You can always buy another car but how many chances do you get to roger your dreamboat?
