  1. It would be interesting to see if there is a difference with the OEM hids on the IS, and for what reason.
  2. After going out at night I found there slightly blue'er than I saw in the day, but am happy and dont mind a bit of blue and they match my LEDs exactly. You might prefer 4300k matt, I think oem hid bulbs in new cars are 4300k
  3. Found where the water is coming from, but can anyone identify the pipe for me? Its just next the the off side fog light, just past and under the washer fluid tank which you can see above. The picture was taken from the wheel arch. Picture from a breaking IS200.
  4. Got my 5k's installed now too and much happier. In fact I think the colour is a perfect, any lower down the spectrum would start to look too yellow i think. comparison 5k on left 6k on right. very frustrating how the colour changes from manufactures, these 5k's now look the same as my 6k's in my last car! will always go for 5k's from now on. If i ever manage to get my fogs bulbs out will upload a pic of LEDs in those too, im gonna have another crack at it today
  5. OMG that video is amazing! ive never seen it before. but i do know the IS in the USA is a very respected car and a high miler in fair condition would cost in the region of 7k. Im moving to California next year and was looking to buy another, I might just ship my right hooker at the prices ppl want! although its worth every penny.
  6. heres a few simple ones that shouldnt cost to much (not all to my taste) LED side lights, LED fog lights (DRL?) LED number plate lights, LED interior lights all round, HID conversion, Shark fin areal, chrome handles, aero wiper blades, lip spoiler, clear fog lights, mud guards, caliper paint with decals, clear side indicators, sun strip, window tint, rear view mirror with back up screen/camera and parking sensors, chrome exhuast tip
  7. I like the smoke, makes me feel like ive got a wopping great v8 under the hood lol
  8. dame! i just wasted 10 quid lol
  9. yeah if lexus say then should be fine. The posts i read may of been old and lexus were prob more anal about using the toyota stuff thensince it states in the manual to only use it, these cars are old now. Also states in manual to use propylene glycol what ever that means, which is other reason i used toyota because not sure if other ones had it. so does the halfords one have this ingredient?
  10. Btw no havent used ac since bought the car, have you been out lately? Lol. Jk. Should of mentioned.except Sometime to defrost window for few mins.
  11. Toyota red is longlife 40k miles. Pink is super long life 80k. I bought 5L wholesale for £22 red toyota on ebay but direct from toyota so have invoice for logbook. Pink was a bit pricy and not planning on keeping the car because emigrating. I read all over the LOC and other forums to use toyoya stuff, so did.
  12. Ok a bit of a update. The coolant is not leaking it seems, its staying at the same level. Still got water dripping like i said so could be headlight washer or something, but am not too worried about it. Im going to run the washer fluid out and see if it stops. Will keep an eye on the coolant level tho, because seems strange the car had no coolant when i bought it. Still going to replace the water pump for piece of mind and hoping it will fix the noise i can hear. I feel a bit stupid after this! but im no mechanic, and my mechanic was the one who suggested the leak! thanks for all your time, especially thanks to Chris!
  13. its strange your LEDs would blow a fuse, never heard of that before. i had seen some listings of LED panels etc that are different voltages so just check, but most are standard 12v. Only my door marker LEDs have arrived so far, not sure why someone said they dont make a difference, they are much brighter and look much better. Jomo I think i will invest in the LED strips instead of using panels, thanks for info. btw havent ordered those strips, just wondered if thats what you got, but can see the difference. I order a small 12 LED panel that fits snugly into a small groove in the door frame toward the front, but i ended up using them in the markers as they fitted better than the 6 LED panel I was originally going to use. Will get some pics up when complete.
  14. Yeah after driving around its not the best, and it looks naf. going back to stock for now. worked well in my last car tho (had revolving type) but not the lex. Cant recommend it. but maybe one like this would work better if i had the balls for screw into my tunnel. http://www.ebay.co.u...d=p5197.c0.m619 Will try and do some modifications/improvements before i go for OEM. see if i can get anything out of it, seems a waste not too. gonna cut the bottom out and make it smaller and fit around centre tunnel better....
  15. Just fitted a universal armrest that cost me 22 pounds on ebay. I have bought from the same bulgarian company before for my previous car and have been happy with the quality. There are quite a few different sizes and designs available. even saw one with same gold coloured plastic as IS interior. You can find the seller by typing universal armrest into ebay. My first impressions after fitting the armrest is, it looks a bit big and out of proportion. Also think its slightly to tall for my arm to rest comfortably, but have raised the seat slightly. I will live with it for a few weeks and make another verdict. I have managed to fit it without making any changes of damages to my IS interior and the car can be returned to stock at anytime. I have however damaged the armrest underneath by remove the base and screwing my own holes into the wooden frame. Heres how i did it, and heres how it looks. Give me your honest opinion.
  16. Yeah could be. But like I said deff got a puddle, but water is clear not red and is directly under washer fluid tank. Also I started another thread not long ago about a motor grinding noise coming from throttle body area/glove box but now am wondering if its water pump which would also exain leak. Had a look at throttle body and look fine clean inside etc. car just hit 99k and cant see any invoices of new water pump. Timing belt was done at lexus with intermediate service but no mention of new water pump.
  17. Its been wet the last few days so havent noticed a puddle. Ill put some cardboard under the car over night and if its dripping can get a better idea of where from. Already called my garage and will get it looked at again. Ide rather it be the simple issue of a new radiator than something more complicated, but we'll see. Update. found the dripping on off side at very front.
  18. Well I successfully topped it up on Monday and today ive already lost a coupe of centimeters in two days! so give it a week or two and it'll be empty again :( I cannot see a leak either i had a good look around. so can anyone now advice me on a new radiator, which im guessing is what i need? ive seen them for sale for around 60-80 pounds with two years warranty so that sound right? and do i need one specific for my automatic trans? cheers
  19. Mines very quiet around town I think, and a passenger also mentioned it was quiet the other day (around town)
  20. I was thinking it was something along those lines, just waitibg for someone to confirm! Right round two tomorrow! Lol thanks again
  21. i just topped it up but I used the radiator cap by accident does it matter? I only managed to fit 1 litre in as well and gauge hasnt moved from what I can see
  22. I sometimes like to think the wine in first gear is a turbo lol :zee:
  23. I need 2 of those anti rattle thingys too! im just gonna try and rip em off a scrap IS200 somewhere
  24. I havent seen them sell for less than 100. Ive just bought a universal one because i cant justify paying so much for such a simple thing! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270809194640?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 I didnt really want to mention it on the LOC yet in case it goes tits up and looks rubbish! but will do a thread on it once arrived and show ppl how it goes. bought a similar priced one for my last car (different design) and it was of good quality and worked great. As i dont want to screw it to the centre tunnel and do any damage to the interior, I am planning on unbolting the storage lid and fixing this one too it either with metal plates or a thin sheet of wood using the same screws. Im quite good at making things. If that doesnt work good I may try and purchase another storage lid from a breaker and literally bolt it to it. If it goes well it will serve really useful also because my IS doesnt have front cup holders because ive got the NAV and it comes with two.
  25. update: just had wheels off on ramp not wrong pads, but missing anti rattle clips like these: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?app=tutorials&article=123
