  1. camera struggles to show true colour but can see the new ones are whiter. so are you happy with new 5k? mine are more like 8k btw! becuase like i said ive had 6ks before and were white. can you paste the link of the uk seller too
  2. I have a similar problem, although the vibrations are very slight and only noticeable when the not holding the wheel, cant actually feel anything when holding wheel normally. So how serious is it? how long should i wait to replace rotors?
  3. Ive recently noticed if I hold the wheel very lightly or even not at all when braking, the wheel will vibrate slightly back and forth. This doesnt happen all the time, as tried this morning and was fine. I do short trips mainly in my IS. If im holding the wheel normally even with one hand I dont feel any vibrations or movement when braking. So question is how badly warped (assuming thats the issue) are they, and how long do i wait to replace them. Ive just had new pads all round and the rotors are fairly new also, hence the reason im a not to keen on spending money on them again any time soon
  4. Have you ordered 5000k's then? let me know what they are like... still not sure if i should opt for 4300k or 5k. Have heard 4300k (if correct) have a slight yellow tint...
  5. I just want a good light coverage too, and HID are much better than halogen. I also like to be up to date and like my headlight to look brilliant white so not to look dated as most good new cars show up older halogen bulbs as yellow... and the IS200 doesnt look its age as it is... these are my so called 6000k from china anyway!
  6. Ive just got my first lex. Its a 2000, i wanted a older one for the lower tax... oldest car ive ever owned was 2002. however im paranoid its going to go wrong having such a old car, i keep telling myself these cars are bullet proof... so glad to hear posts like this. Nice GS300 btw, im in shropshire too (shrewsbury) ill look out for it :)
  7. i need to do this on mine, ive looked at video tutorials on youtube etc on how to do it, but am not confident enough. let us know how it goes if you do....
  8. Like i said 9006 or HB4 will fit your IS200.... on the link i sent you would select 9006... sorry for confusion
  9. I would come fit them for you if i lived close by! its relativity simple, although quite fidderly on the passengers side due to being obstructed by various things... 35w HID it equiv to 55w halogen and is what you need. Im sure any garage would charge a small price to fit your bulbs as it prob consist of about 10 minutes labour. Any mobile mechanic would also do the job for you.
  10. As far as i know dual beam HID bulbs have 2 filaments for cars with only 1 reflector for high and low beams and work in the same way as a H4 halogen bulb does, H4 bulbs wont work in your IS200 btw, its HB4 you need, as the IS200 has a seperate reflector for high beam. BiXenon is a type of bulb which adjusts its beam for high and low also, similar principle but more advanced i think my dads MG ZT has it, none of which are related to the IS200's setup. You can also convert you high beams to HID btw, I would recommend 55w or 75w bulbs tho and would be HB3.
  11. Ebay! Dont get ripped off buy the high street still trying to charge a arm and a leg for HID technology, its simple technology these days and should be cheap to replace your HID bulbs. Yes buy a pair, chances are the other is about to fail anyway as these type of bulbs have a certain amount of hours life span. type in ebay HB4 35w 5000k bulbs/replacements. your bulbs are also called known as 9006 type as well as HB4. You do not need a "kit" only the bulbs, and is a straight swap like any other bulb. This is a UK seller and the bulbs are of good quality, if you like your bulbs as white as can be, choose 4300k http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/35w-Xenon-HID-Replacement-Bulbs-Excellent-Quality-2-Years-Warranty-UK-SELLER-/190677178673?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item2c653ed931 You can buy a pair for as little as 6 pounds also but expect the life span to be shorter and also a few weeks wait from china. Life span is normally specified in the sale, i do tend to just keep buying cheap ones every few years, but up to you.
  12. Well i bought 6000k and they are much blue'er than your pics, so this confirms mine are wrong! these chinese sellers cant always be trusted. Ill be also buying another pair but in 5000k to be on the safe side, i dont want to order 6k again and same problem happen. I actually hate turning my lights on atm because i look like a chav!
  13. I live in a small town with only 2 tint shops, the latter was only slightly cheaper. but after what you said i may try and get some quotes from birmingham (closest city to me) as i tend to be there a fair bit anyway... thanks
  14. I know, i found many threads that were useful, but none of them mentioned bluetooth or android capabilities, im guessing this is a new addition?
  15. I have a heat gun and all tools required. I find it very easy to mould to a flat window such as sides. However moulding to the natural curvature of a back window is a skill in itself
  16. Before i even bought my IS200 I knew i wanted to install a 2 din touch screen interface with all the bells and whistles, including rear view camera, navigation, USB, bluetooth..... however ive come to learn thats its not as simple as i thought, especially because I have the factory nav. I learnt that you have to bypass the stock amp which is easy enough, but doing so would probably make the sound quality dreadful Tried to research but still confused on what complications the stock nav can cause for fitting aftermarket headunits, but know it causes problems. So discovered these GROM units, and now they come with bluetooth and android capability which sounds too good to be true! but its not, its amazing, I can control all my music from my factory headunit from my android device, as well as answer calls via bluetooth with its in-built mic. 109 pounds on ebay. As for the rear view camera, opting for ones of those rear view mirrors which doubles as a screen. You can buy them as a kit with parking sensors, camera and rear view mirror...
  17. wow wish my IS200 got those figures with its smaller engine! petrol engines have come a long way in the last 10 years, and am fed up with all the hype about diesels, there so over rated. Bet your 330d was noisy and laggy? I want a IS250 next.... lovely cars and also love the image
  18. After my local tint shop quoting me 250 pounds to tint my IS rear windows, ive decided to try it myself! I have helped tint a friends car before and we successfully did side windows to a good standard but failed miserably on the rear (curved) window, so will therefore leave that to the pro's, which would then only cost me around 100 pounds. Found some pre cut film for the IS on ebay, and he can send me front and rear windows minus back glass, for 27 pounds posted, and the added bonus of being pre cut to exactly fit the IS200. Will l do before and after and let you know how it goes. btw am opting for 20% rear 70% legal on front as ive noticed there slightly tinted anyway so prob wouldnt get away with 50%....
  19. Thats annoying, i hope it doesnt happen on mine, you planning to try and diagnose? if so let me know how it goes, visa versa.
  20. Yes it does, but i tend to look at the shifter... this is force of habit after driving a focus auto without indicator and shifter easily put in wrong gear... getting used to just gently tapping the IS into drive now tho.... :)
  21. not sure about the light? surely if the bulb was out it wouldnt come back to life sometimes... unless they are HIDs? If they are and are worn out they will sometimes light up sometimes not... otherwise must be a loose connection. take a picture of the engine bay, light cluster from the top wow 1400. its crazy how much you can pick up a IS for now, even one as good looking as yours, when i bought mine my instincts were saying there must be something wrong at such low prices, but there really isnt. bargain of the century. still dont really know why they have depreciated so much.
  22. I just got mine a month ago, SE Auto. also had some fun in the first few days of ownership! people say there not the fastest thing but after driving a 1.6 focus auto its not bad! Yours looks awesome, tastefully styled i think, awesome reg too, did that come with the car?
  23. you are getting 2 mpg more as the stated town driving for auto is 20 mpg. 29mpg figure will be for both town and motorway driving so if you dont drive on motorway you wont achieve this figure. i just checked and with my last car, i could achieve "combined MPG" figure around town vs the "urban" figure, same with any car?
