  1. thats a good idea never thought of that, i do own a heat gun. I was trying to think of a way to keep it flexed back. Will give it a wirl. thanks
  2. got ya, yes I know the space there.... but wasnt sure how the space was effected when closed, hmm well since the LED panel i bought was only a few quid I might do what you did if they dont cut it.... did you buy something similar to this?http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-24-LED-Linear-Flexible-Strip-Car-Lights-24cm-White-/110665850344?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19c432dde8 are you going to explain why you have a Is200 door lying around? lol btw i want some clear markers like that, but price was a bit steep on lexstacy, that where you got em?
  3. Very true a bit steep for side lights and the cheap ones look decent enough (ive had them before) I just remember getting thru them fairly quickly, and it doesnt help that i have a weird obsesion with lights and end up spending too much money on them! but at that price you cant complain. Ive bought the same bulbs I just linked for fog lights for mine to colour match my 5000k HIDs bulbs (that havent arrived yet) they should be just as bright as the halogens becuase there CREE. Ive had cheap ones in there too that dont really give much light output, however look good (gives it the DRL look without looking OTT). Some ppl HID convert fogs. but like you said fog lights are for cutting thru fog and when its actually foggy im always thankful for them, the IS in the USA are full blown yellow.
  4. Thanks for reply. I think the reason why im struggling to see level on gauge is because its very low! and i dont want to just put water in to see if the level moves...going to use the proper stuff... did see a slight whitish residue at bottom of engine bay, but very slight, couldnt see anything obvious. if yours is leaking how do you know it needs a whole new radiator? could you just fix the leak?
  5. Ill be honest i cant make out the pic ( feel i bit stupid!) i just ran out to the car too to try and figure it out, so you took pic with door open? the metal showing is the car or the door? i think ill wait till its light lol
  6. I meant when you turn engine off the interior lights dont come on until you open the door (im pretty sure). Well i bought 48 panels for both so my cars gonna look like a christmas tree!
  7. yeah i noticed your side lights looked yellow when next to your HIDs! and I told you to go for CREE diodes! lol cheap ones never cut it and also fail after a while. I got CREE Q5s with projector lenses on the end for my sidelightshttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120876024923?var=420068704422&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 which are stated at 5k temp i think , only problem i have is the bulb holder actually points about 25 degrees outwards, so you can only see the beam well from far left or right, looks alright tho but was thinking to try these instead with a wider light angle http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310407328240?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  8. Just went to the garage to give my IS200 a good checking over before winter hits and because i havent had it up on the ramp since i bought it, anyway my mechanic said the radiator has no coolant whats so ever! How could this be tho, the car temp gauge has always sat just under the half mark as should. have just bought 5L of red toyota stuff ill put a little in and see what happens as im guessing i could have a leak. Are coolant leaks common on the IS? would the car still run good if it had no or low coolant? if the car had any coolant would you see water in the radiator if you took the cap off?
  9. yes was thinking of using two panels for the middle light as i could prob fit 2x 48 led panels as i measured it as 10cm wide (as stated in my document) but bought 1 for now and see how it looks. That mod im not to bothered about TBH, although the car is much better lit with both on yes, but I think adequate as is. What I would like is the interior lights to come on when you take the key out or turn to 1, one thing i miss the focus had, then they fade out when you start the car.
  10. wow that looks friggin awesome! where exactly did you position the light panel for the puddle light? not much room under the door when closed i noticed.... btw let us know what the OEM rear lights look like with LEDs after you got the resistors sorted... im still unsure whether i should just switch the bulbs like yourself or get some new LED rear lights, not to keen on the chromed/clear frame anyway
  11. Well got it checked over and yes front discs slightly warped but not badly, so that explains that. However checked the rear pads and the new ones I got are exactly the same design and would also rattle! the holes on the pads is too big for the pin and the pads move, however was told its perfectly fine and safe however just will have annoying rattle! ive checked other pads online and holes are same size so what are my pins missing something? So if anyone want a pair of brand new rear brabus pads PM me
  12. Just make sure the terminals are at the back of the engine bay. and yes a good price for those and with warranty. I got my new batt at a trade price from a place in my town, a bit cheaper but not a bosch, but you pay for the name....
  13. Yes I find the same thing too. After driving a focus auto for 2 years i also found the accelerator on my IS200 very snappy and its one thing I dont like about the car, I find im using the snow mode in slow moving traffic and also driving out of my neighborhood, although ive got more used to it now, just takes a little more careful foot control. Im putting it down to my focus being fly by wire but not sure of the IS200's setup....
  14. Im about to install LED lights all round to my IS200 including: Map light Main interior light Ash tray light Door markers Boot light Adding puddle lights Number plate lights I have made a chart to help myself or anyone else who who wants to as well. I will be mainly using LED SMD panels and therefore need to get dimesions correct for each space.... I will add some pictures of how I get on too. As for door markers, I will be placing LED panels within orange plastic surround. For the puddle lights if you look there is a indent under the front doors towards the front that would house a small light panel perfectly, I will be running the wires from the door markers. I may or may not have to remove door cards, will have to see. http://www.2shared.c...conversion.html
  15. where you bought t brembo pad at from my i ask? (item part number) Got the pads online somewhere cant remember where, part number P 83 045
  16. 225,45,17. How can i tell if its lowered? Ive only had the car 3 months and the owner never mentioned anything... also no receipts amongst the ton of paper work that came with the car about being lowered.... I have a picture here of the car side view if you can tell? http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=78811&hl=#
  17. I know, i found many threads that were useful, but none of them mentioned bluetooth or android capabilities, im guessing this is a new addition? You need to try harder mate :) Have a look at this link: http://www.lexusowne...=15#entry758774 I wrote a whole post about installing the GROM unit with bluetooth, and pairing it with my phone. I'm using a Galaxy S2 with Android Jellybean and it works fine Wow great write up! thanks very much and thanks for link. i will do a thread on how to hook up to android also
  18. Thanks so much i will get it checked out! and will also get those correct pads on asap
  19. Good to know a mechanic owns a lexus too, confirms that they really are good cars.
  20. Just wondered if its just my car or all IS200 with 225 width tyres scrape wheel arch guards when full lock and just before? I have after market wheels but still 17" so shouldnt make a difference. I need to somehow pin back the wheel arch guards as it does flex a good amount
  21. yeah thats the seller i thought you used i was just waiting for you to confirm.... i will be ordering mine also! I think ill opt for the 5k even tho you said they still have slight blue ting, as long as there not full blown BLUE like current! and dont want to cross the line from white to yellow with 4300k but if you do try em let us know... Im also hoping the 5ks from this seller will match the colour of my CREE Q5 LED side lights and fogs. You can see one of them in one of my pics. Yeah try on some lanes... but I noticed the low beam is very narrow on IS, my last HIDs on my focus covered much more and actually had to have them pointed down most of the time, if pointed up it was like full beam. Im guessing this is because the IS is actually setup for HIDs which is a good thing but it makes me want to get high beam HIDs now, prob is i rarely do any country driving so not sure its worth it.
  22. wow thanks for the info! It wasnt me who had the brakes done, it was the previous owner and considering the fact he put on the wrong pads on the back i wouldnt trust he checked anything! is this something i can check myself by just taking the wheel off? and ive only just bought the correct pads for the rear but still havent fit them... they have play and do not have mounting pins like front, would this cause the issue also?
