i would like to add my thanks and appreciation to you and all the members of the armed forces who have served not only i afgan..
but every where there as been conflict THANK YOU
yes i know that i tried everything over a 6 month period .eventually i replaced the matrix this solved the problem
it really is quite easy to do, takes about 2 hours
its not the fact that its leaking, just totally gunged up
the radiator specialist i used took two hours of constant flushing
along with air pressure to un block it
are both the heater feed pipes in the engine compartment hot?.
if so your heater matrix needs changing.
i had the same problem tried everything to no avail.
but when i changed my matrix this solved my problem
i now have a very warm car interior
its pretty straight forward.
1.disconnect the two heater feed pipes in the engine compartment
2.remove the tray underneath the steering wheel unclip the relevant switches from the tray along with the bonnet release mechanism
3.remove the clutch pedal its held on by two nuts and one bolt unclip the cotter pin that connects to the master cylinder
the whole unit will then come out
4 unscrew the three self tapping screws holding the metal feed pipes (remember to put some towels in the footwell to soak up any water that comes from the matrix
5 the matrix can then be pulled straight out from the heater box
6
take the matrix to your local rad repair shop
to install the reconned unit just reverse the procedure
thats it job done
i,ve managed to change the heater matrix on my is200 with the heater unit in place
if you remove the clutch pedal you have all the room you need whole job took roughly 2 hours
