  1. This might have been done before, and you might think's it's naff but here we go:-

I've been having loads of problems with the speaker in my car kit, basically when on a motorway I can't hear the person speaking. The car kit is a siemens btw.

While I was cleaning my aircon filter I noticed the cabling for the speaker, disconnected it from the siemens controller box and doubled up the wiring with one of those old cassette tapes that plays music cd's from the ear jack..

Anyway, it works, I can leave the cassette tape in as I never use it (who needs it with 6 cd's?!) and I still have the siemens speaker wired in so I can hear the phone ringing, press the tape button and I can control the volume for the call.

I think it's a brilliant idea as you don't need to mess about with the internal wiring.

    :winky:

  2. Yup, put them in last night and they are much brighter, I only paid £12 for the pair !!! Dead easy to fit, I have my old ones as spare now! We'll just have to see how long they last......

Would definetly recommend them, I do like the blue tint they give - but will the rossers be hassling me though!

I've seen something similar in Halfords for £19.99 each !!!

The ebayer's nickname is xenondepotuk - he's based in canada, his feedback is not 100% but I didn't have any problems at all - took 7 days to deliver.

  3. Yes I agree Nowden, here's what I have been quoted so far:-

    Lexus Chester - £390 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Lexus Stoke - £228

    Lexus Stafford (Toyota) - £220

Looks like I'll be taking a day out to stoke and spending my £170 saving on some Wedgwood instead !!!!!!!

BTW, I asked about the pollen filter at the dealers:-

    Lexus Chester - £50 !

    Lexus Stoke - £25 !

Can anybody explain why there is such a huge margin difference?

  4. I'll post the pics tonight when I get home, there are photos of the interiro but from the passenger side view. You might be able to make out the steering wheel - You'll probably know better than me if it's a tezza s/wheel or not.

The interior is defo from an IS200 though...

  5. I emailed the geezer,

I asked him if it was an import, and when it was last serviced and if it was an altezza or an IS200, here's his response:-

"hello ebayer this car is an import we bought the car already registered, it

was first bought to the country and sva done in june 2003, it is an altezza, lights are on the car....."

    mmmm....lights on the car eh?

He also sent me some more pics of the interior with the big dangly from the rear view mirror... It's definitely the old shape (with tape deck on top) and I have also noticed that the centre's from the alloys are missing.... it doesn't look like a tezz at all, more like an IS200.

pm me if you want to see the pics (I don't really want to put them on here...)

  6. Me again (last time)

I quote - " THE MILES ARE GENUWINE, DUE TO ME BEING A DISABLED DRIVER; I HAVE KEPT THE CAR IN GOOD NICK, AND HARDLY EVER DRIVE IT. "

If that's the case where is the disabled badge in the windscreen???

Anyway, the numberplate is T761 HTR and the car is a LEXUS IS 200 (99 ON) SE AUTO - I thankyou!!!

    Check it out on www.directline.com

  7. I'd be interested in knowing how chips away do - I had a quote from them on a scratch that needs repairing, they said it would be £100 but they phoned up & said they couldn't do it - something to do with the machine for spraying on metalic paint had broken.

Let me know what they do - cheers!

  8. Mine used to rattle and there was an attempt to sort it out under warranty. The rattle has gone away but when the visor is back there is an annoying clicking noise whenever I go over a bump.

BTW, I had a creak in my drivers seat which was also fixed under warranty.

  9. I've just checked in my manual (2002 model) and it states that to double lock the doors, press the lock button twice. It warns about making sure nobody is inside as they won't be able to get out. Not sure about the sensors being disarmed though!

Why do they change these things. To be honest I find it a real pain double locking !!!

The other thing I noticed was when you press the lock key once the indicators flash, when you press it again they don't flash and the locking noise is different - if you know what I mean ?!?!!
