Hi glad you have checked out the insurance, going from a Honda to a Lexus will put a smile on your face, as for running costs very good compared with other less enjoyable drive's, it may be worth having a chat with your local Lexus dealer to see if any decent part ex have turned up or if they know of any going to auction. good luck with your search Mark

Hi i got the cassette adapter for a number of reasons, 1 cost around £259 with the lexus harness, i can spend that on my other hobbies. 2 the look, don't want to spoil the clean lines of the inside with a square add on thing, seen one in a GS and it don't look good 3 hands free is of no use to me, as i don't pick up calls while i am driving 4 it's nickable, you have to take it out when you leave the car, 5 got blue tooth in the volvo i had and it kept dropping the signal, went to Argos £14.99 great reviews plug and play, hooked up to the mark levenson great sound on shuffle job done Mark

have you checked out the insurance cost for this car, i am sure you have, but a 23 year old with a 4.Lit it could be eye watering, i am sure the guys on here will steer you in the right direction. Regards mark.

having said i paid £700 over the odds i did get 1 years tax 1 years MOT with no advisorys 12 month warrenty full tank of fuel and a 3 year service plan COSTING £16.50 Per month for 3 years thats about £500 for three services and free mot's i was going to keep up the service history untill the car reached 100,000 miles as it's only done 76,000 miles i would guess in three years it would not be far off 100,000, and i am hoping if anything did go major south with the car having a full Lexus service history there would be some good grace from Lexus for anything serious, fingers crossed, LOL and having said all that in three years i will be after a LS 460

Bought my Lexus from a main Lexus dealer, and i have to say what excellent after care service i have received, there was this rattle with a clunk sounds painful and expensive that's what the previous owner thought after i contacted them, you can hear the clunk from inside the car when you go over road humps, and the rattle with the passenger window open and passing something built up, oh ***** i thought, well after a good look round and with a good helping of luck i found the problem, the heat shield on the passenger side exhaust had fell down at the back causing the clunk and rattle i contacted Lexus who booked me in and fixed and washed the car, no more clunk and rattle going over road humps, i phoned the previous owner who said he was told it was something to do with the Air suspension by a independent specialist, and that's why he changed the car, he said if it was just that he would still be driving it as he had the major service and belt and water pump changed by Lexus in Jan 2012, complete with a full service history from lexus Looking round at prices i probably paid about £700 more for the car because i used the main dealer but to be honest, they replaced the boot struts, did a 4 wheel alignment, and fixed the heat shield all for nothing, the previous owner is a bit miffed and i am a bit chuffed, Karma all the way, i did return his sunglasses that i found in the holder, good karma = good karma. Ok all what a big dumbo i am, rear cabin air filter in big box saying air purifier doh, also found the front filter and the two under the front seats,(if you have front air cooled/heated seats, all check out fine ................from 00....06 ls430 (UL) .

traveling along at 80mph i could actually hear the 6 disc cd changer changing disc the ever so slight whirring noise as it changes that's mental

hi all found the cabin filter for the front going to change that, any one know where the rear filter for the rear air con, is it in the boot.

Had my car for just over week and half, yesterday i popped it in sport mode and power pressed my foot half way down from 15 mph we where doing 80 in a about 3 seconds nothing rushed nothing screaming just the horizon coming towards me at a vast rate, i was pushed back in my seat a bit like take off on a 380,, this is truly a amazing car i am going to get some pictures when it's been for a wash. figured it out 1 smart key, 1 valet key.

I think i read this right in the manual, only 1 key the master operates the smart key entry system the other key just opens and closes starts the like normal is this the case or should both keys open using the smart entry system ?????

There are so many threads about problems i thought i would give some + ones about my new Lexus LS430. Very seldom after starting do i need to apply the accelerator she just wafts along in 5th at 30mph on tick over, just tickle the accelerator now and again, So super silent i often turn the stereo off and just listen to how silent she is. I am so relaxed when i arrive i am almost asleep (not a good point ) Fuel economy is proving to be good I found the secret menu on the sat nav screen, no faults shown. every button works took it back to the dealers and the boot struts are changed in 10 mins all fine now. there's more than enough power and super smooth gear changes 40-80 was over in a flash just 76500 on the clock and running better than any car i have had including Merc's there's more but the good point out way the bad and sometimes on a forum you find concentrated bad points of faults which is the bread and butter of forums and helps me + other they are necessary and of great value, this post is to remind me of how good there are.

Got a call from Lexus boot struts are in and can be fitted tomorrow, now that's what i call service all FOC.

Hi thanks all, will do on the wheel arches thanks for the tip, the boot struts have failed but these are being replaced as a part of the deal, i Googled it and it's a common fault, goingto take some pictures soon and post them up. Mark
