So ... Getting my badly corroded alloys refurbished ... But .. do I get them done to standard colour or go a shade darker ... Car is dark grey .. anyone got pics of shadow chrome alloys on their car ?

Was just the one nut ... enough room to get a spanner on it to tighten up ... foot down from the front wheels... middle of the engine.. arms length to get to it.... exhaust is on the right off it , its a small ish shield about 8 inch long

It was the heat shield ... tightened it up and all is good again :D

Oil is fine ... It only rattles when you rev it slow and it's only between 1100 to 1300 rpm .. had lose heat shields before on other cars and it sounds the same . Will look tomorrow

As title says ... Only started today ... Seems to be under the front end . Heat shield lose perhaps ... Any ideas peeps New engine was fitted last month so hoping it's just something come lose

Not the sport but my 220d is giving 35 ish round town and 46 motorway

17 inch wheels ... Lexus fitted new rear calipers free under warranty and new discs n pads ... Got spare rear discs now lol ... Might try n eBay them

Short ish motorway journey today ... I got 46 mpg ... :-D liking it :-D

Car drove fine tbh ... Mpg was going down though ... Now and again it did seem a little lumpy when going along at a constant speed ... The main thing was coolant everywhere in the engine bay ... Topping it up every day nearer the day of the engine swap

The symptoms i had was coolant being sprayed out the coolant reservoir and now and again white smoke from the exhaust ... that was getting worse day by day Car was due the 70k service anyway and it was around the time i noticed the coolant be sprayed over the engine I booked the car in for the 70k service ..... waited for the car to be done and after the service was carried out i was told the bad news of " your head gasket has gone and you'll need a new engine" I had 4 Lexus service stamps and 2 non lexus service stamps ....after the service i had one more Lexus stamp No tests before the service and never had the car recovered to the dealer ... I have only owned the car since last October I did however take out the Lexus extended warranty the same day i booked the 70k service ... £66 a month for 20 months, that gives me 2 years cover BUT this had no effect on the new engine as i was told my car was within the age and mileage (7 years or 110K miles) Well worth the money imo as the rear brake calipers were seized and was replaced at the same time as the new engine, they alone would have cost me over £600 Lexus Milton Keynes were spot on for customer service and can not fault them at all I even had half a tank of diesel put in my car on collection day .... was almost empty when i dropped it off :D I was also told that there will be no more head gasket issues with the engine .... that I HOPE is very true Engine is smoother, more quiet and more responsive :D

Cheers matey .. only drove it home so far and it was 33 mpg ... No motorway ... Hoping it will go up over time lol . ... I used wynns dpf cleaner ... Don't know if that's similar or as good but it's easier to get hold of

Had a 200d loan car 2012 ... Tbh I prefer my 220d ... Engine has more go in it ... If that makes sense

Got my 2007 220d back today .. new engine and new rear calipers free of charge ... Can't rate Lexus Milton Keynes enough .. superb customer service Engine seems more responsive but I suppose it would :-D

Dropped my car off ... I asked if it's a new head block or reconditioned engine ... The guy said No ... It's a new engine ... Long as it works ok I'm happy tbh :-D

i got the extended warranty .... on the paperwork it states that road wheels are not covered :(

i been having that, also coolant sprayed over the engine .... Head gasket gone.... going into Lexus MK tomorrow for new engine 70k on mine with full service stamps.... all work being done and paid for by Lexus :)

That's fair enough tbh ... It's better than the one in there and more than what ford etc would do ... Not costing me anything so can't moan really :-D
