can anyone tell me where the 220d MAF sensor is located and is it easy to get off should this be cleaned often ? cheers peeps

Update so after a day the crack sound was still there Today i had the stereo out again and placed foam between the plastic bracket of the stereo and the metal bracket that screws on to it 2 runs today with heater on different settings and NO crack sound :D...time will tell as always

I had the same problem ... today ... 2nd attempt .... I took out the stereo unit ... it's got a metal bracket on each side attached to the plastic part of the stereo .... I placed some foam between the plastic and metal and replaced the 2 screws on each side .... 2 runs out today an NO crack sound so far ..... really easy to do

New felt foam round or behind the stereo .... I'm attempting this myself but it's hard to know where to put the new felt material .... I've had one go and its less often and more of a muffled crack sound .... but still there .... so will attempt a 2nd go this weekend the middle vents n stereo are real easy to remove ..... I was very surprised how easy

I was quoted £78 a month for extended Lexus warranty at Milton Keynes Lexus .. bit pricey if you ask me ... how come another Lexus garage can quote £40 :(

seems to have stopped it most of the time ... only heard one quieter crack today ... maybe add some more elsewhere lol

well tonight I had the centre consol and air vent out .... really easy to do actually .... put some new felt sponge sort of material in quite a few places including behind the stereo bolt fixings .... will see what happens tomorrow lol

what he said ... defo worth cleaning the egr valve .... I did and got 8 mpg more than I was ... and my egr valve wasn't as bad as others I've seen

well only had the car 2 weeks ... it definitely comes from the middle near the stereo ... I even felt it when I was fiddling with the buttons one day

mines 2007 ... will be asking the dealer nicely tomorrow lol thanks again for the info .... it's starting to annoy me now .... craaaack :s

will do ... got no rattles ... it's just the crack sound ... have read its a different issue .. as you said I thinks it's felt padding needed under the stereo console but will pop in and ask, will be interesting if they know what I'm talking about lol

I got the dreaded crack sound now and again ... :s was hoping to do this myself as well ... will see what the local dealer says tomorrow lol ££££

very good to know are there any alternatives ... wynns products for example ... easier to get hold off and they just bought out a dpf cleaner

hi guys the warranty advertised on this forum ... is it any good ? anyone used them and claimed ok ? been reading several and don't want to end up with a warranty not worth the paper its written on :s Lexus own warranty is almost double :s

ooops to late but mine is an 07 on 65000 miles ... nearly had 2 weeks now read load of reviews before buying and not one said about this issue and being a Lexus I thought ...hmmm should be bullet proof as I've always been told they are great cars n never go wrong :s oh well ... looking at used car warranties but hard to decide which one is worth the paper it's written on

I got an 07 just over 10 days ago ... cleaned the egr Valve completely and instantly got 43 mpg with my type of driving .... that ain't perfect for economy lol .... around town I'm getting 35-37 mpg
