  1. Hi, I'm looking to hopefullypurchase a front strut bar for my IS200 (engine totally unmodified, 2000 X-reg) quite soon I've had a good look around previous posts on the subject and it would appear that Cusco seem to be the best make , and Takakaira seem to be best price wise. Takakaira's strut bars (i hope that link worked!) I need a bit of advise from those experienced chappies on here on the following: 1. Ordering from Takakaira they obviously all relate to Altezza's. Will these fit direct onto a standard IS200 or will it need a bit of jiggery pokery? 2. Which is best one to go for. In the Cusco section there seems to be a large range (Alu-Carbon OS, Type OS, AS), all of which seem to fit the Altezza. Any particular one stand out against the others? 3. Any reviews on takakaira as a company generally - good, bad, indifferent? Thanks guys :D Steve
  2. Choose a Lexus and never be this red faced again
  3. Hi guys, Anyone know if these are still available, or where i could get some from. I really really want some! It's gonna be my first mod (had car for 6 weeks now), but something tells me this is gonna become addictive, and i'm sure it wont be the last! :winky: cheers
  4. Danny, I have no hesitation in recommending lexus leicester. I bought my 200 sport from them at the end of november. Tthey were brilliant from start to finish, and the level of preparation on the car was fantastic. Have a word with Glenn there, he sorted my purchase out, and he'll help you with any questions you have. He's a bloke who doesn't just sell cars - i genuinely believe that he loves Lexus cars as much as the rest of us on here!
  5. I don't know too much about cars (a true automobile muppet :P ) so i may be way out here but this sounds a bit like a problem our lass had with her corsa about 12 months ago. She would be driving along and the engine would just cut out. Engine management light would come on, and if she put hazards on, all power also drained in about 5 mins. The AA couldn't find anything wrong, neither could the AA service centre, who i'm sure though we were taking the p***, until it cut out on them on a busy road! It went in to the Vauxhall dealership, who ran diagnositics, and said it was the crankshaft sensor, and replaced it. About £150 all in i think. Dunno if its likely to be this but i thought i'd add my two penneth worth of car knowledge!
  6. It's worth reading the article about 'daylight robbery on the M4' on that website. Could affect one of the members here - if my maths are right, thats about 2500 wronly issued tickets!!!
  7. Picked up my new car, 2000X Lexus IS200 sport, Royal Sapphire from Leicester on Sat morning, and haven’t stopped smiling since! The car is magic, such a pleasure to drive. And I love all the toys to play with. Bit different to my last car – a Toyota Paseo Gutted it’s rained non-stop since I picked it up though; it’s spoilt my lovely clean car!!! After reading quite a few posts recently about people not too happy with Lexus service, I’d like to restore some faith (dealer review in appropriate section to follow soon). The service I had from Lexus Leicester was unbelievable. It’s true what they say, it’s the little things that count, and Leicester covered everything. The preparation of the car was exceptional; it looked as good as new. When I first inspected the car, there was very little to pick fault with, and the faults I did find were dealt with expertly. A new headlamp installed to replace one with some condensation in, a scratch next to passenger window switch repaired perfectly, some missing tools replaced in the boot and a small squeak on the drivers door sorted out. I also found out at handover that they had to put a new back box on the exhaust cos the old one had a kink in it! The most unbelievable thing though related to the wheels. Originally the car had 18inch Oz racing alloys on. Closer inspection of these revealed a small amount of corrosion around the valve area (v. minor), but I was told that they did not want to release the car with the alloys in that state as they were not official Lexus product and as such not covered by warranty. So, they replaced them with 5 brand spanking new 17inch Lexus alloys, complete with Bridgestone’s, whilst the original wheels were boxed up and put into the car for me to do with as I wished!!! All of the above made the purchasing experience so easy, and to boot, the missus got a bunch of flowers to keep her sweet! :winky: I’d just like to say a big thank you to Lexus Leicester, and in particular Glenn (top bloke!) for making buying a Lexus so pleasurable. Anyone who’s reading this post and contemplating buying a Lexus, get down to Leicester, you will not be disappointed.
