  1. Just an update on this, i did a system restore, back to the end of december, which is when i seem to remember it was ok. I couldnt see anything obvious downloaded that was wrong when i went back through the list of restore points, but after the restore, its all ok again now. So thankyou to everyone who gave me some advice, i will be upgrading ram memory soon anyway though, just to make the running a bit quicker. John
  2. Surely nothing mate, the phone stays in your pocket, all control of the phone is through the stereo so it will all be legal as soon as the headunit is in :) Have you decided which one to go for? I've got the Pioneer double-DIN on order, same as Johnboy. Can't wait, *really* fed up with the lack of tunes in the car ! Yeah I've figured out a fair bit about the Bluetooth since originally posting. I thought I'd needed a cradle but I think I don't need one if I use the controls from the head unit, e.g. loading my phone book into the head unit and making calls from there without having to touch the phone. I also wasn't originally sure that the head unit came with a microphone but now I can see that it does. The phone feature is very good, once you have loaded in your contacts, you can dial out from the head unit, also you can dial out a number thats not in the contact list too, just by entering the numbers, so your phone can stay in your pocket all the time. The supplied mic is very good too. Sorry to hear your having trouble tracking down a unit Steve.
  3. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN :D Hope you have a great day
  4. It has 1g of ram, i may look into upping that, thanks chris. Its runs perfeclty once up and running, runs very quick.
  5. Ive been having some problems with my pc, its running vista home premium, and it seems to take a long time to start up. Once its up and running its fine, and closes down ok. Checked for the fault in the performance bit and it says about switching off transparency, which ive done, and the wallpaper image may be too high resolution, so ive changed that to a standard windows desktop, but still the same, Any ideas ?
  6. I have COD5 on PS3 only :D Lexdriver is my user name.

Kent is better for me but wherever it is i will be there. Unfortunately it cant be on everyones doorstep, and a lot of the problem is finding somehwere that will agree to hold the event. which means the location isnt so much of a priority. Its ok saying, a central location, but even when we have meets in a central location people still dont turn up. Lets wait and see what happens once we have a def location

Yes we did have all this last year, but John fuggles pulled through in the end, and we found out a lot later in the year. According to his post this morning he is looking at 2 venues today, so lets hope we hear something very soon. As Barrie has said, mr fugggles isnt one to let it drop, he did us proud last year, im sure he can do it again

  16. Ive just fitted a double din in mine, i used the the same kit and amp bypass that steve has bought off e.bay. It was easy with good instructions. The double din is easier to assemble than the single.
  17. Heres some pics as promised. it does sit in the dash nice and flush. Im really pleased with it, ive just got to set up my phone now.
  18. Thats a real shame, as i thought mersea island was a great venue. As John fuggles has said. it isnt down to anyone who attended
  19. yep, all sorted thanks, no interference either. I have to confess, the problems i had before were with a different head unit, i bought one of those cheap chinese units from e.bay and had loads of problems with it, sent it back and got a refund. The pioneer was my original choice, and 100 times better, everything fitted correctly first go, and sounds superb. Now im off to try my steps cd
  20. The pioneer unit is in, looking and sounding good, too dark to take pics now, will get some on tomorrow :D
  21. Great pics :D LOC meet to Tokyo next year B)
  22. You need a steady hand :D I wouldnt bother learning arc welding just for basic stuff, its quite easy when you get the hang of it, but it can be a bit heavy, i didnt know you could still buy them now ? mig welding is easy enough, never tried tig but im told its very similar to mig.
