  1. I've tried a few times to get the memory seat linked to the key but it never works on my 2011 model. What was your way of doing it Keith? Once you have set your desired seating/steering/mirror position to a number on the door turn the ignition all the way off. Then (with no power to the car) press and hold that number on the door and the door lock button on your fob at the same time. You must press them at the same time or it won't work. The car should emit a long beep when it's set but the car might still lock with you inside. Then test it by moving your seat back a bit, get out the car and lock it. Once you touch the handle to re-open it, you should see your seat move back to your position. Then do the same for your partner's fob (but on a different door number obviously). Hopefully that will work for you but the procedures are in the owner's manual (they are in mine anyway)! Good luck. Superb Keith...after faffing around for a bit I managed to get it to work. Thought it hadn't worked but once I opened the door the seats returned to my position. Now to set the spare key up for the wife as she will be driving the F to work on Wednesday whilst I sort out her RX at Hedge End. First time she has flown solo in my car so hopefully it will come back in one piece.

  3. I prefer being able to choose my own colour...the oem ones are nice but for me personally the Wheel Specialist have some fantastic finishes available. Saves all the grief about trying to colour match them.
  4. No admin fee for me...and thankfully I have an IS250 rather than a CT. Ok it's not fast but is so much faster than the CT they usually loan me.
  5. Liking the alloys...seen them on a few US ISFs. How are you finding the Michelin's? They are my next choice once I burn through my Bridgestones.
  6. Got to agree about the CT....so slow. My car is in for it's service tomorrow and I'm dreading a CT as a loan car. Wouldn't mind trying out an NX though.
  7. Cosy is one word for it I suppose...and how dare you insult me by saying I work for Auto Express
  8. It does depend on the height of the driver...I wouldn't want anyone older than about 4 to sit behind me in an RCF.
  9. You need to be careful changing from a 400 odd BHP rear wheel drive to a 70 odd BHP front wheel drive car, the totally different handling characteristics could catch you out :) The only thing I had to be careful with was pulling out at junctions and roundabouts. Had to drive like a proper granny.
  10. Never with Lexus...it's just a case of showing my driving licence. The respray company I got my front done with though made me ensure that I was covered to drive their courtesy car on my insurance. No extra fee thankfully as it was a 1 litre Fiesta. Coming from an ISF they knew I couldn't get into any trouble in that.
  11. It does help so many thanks...one of the good things about having a new battery will be it learning my driving style. Quick question...how do you set up window switches. May as well know now for next week.
  12. Mine is much more volatile and moves well above and below the mid-point. After driving it for a while it always settles back to the middle. I have just noticed it over the last couple of weeks that it is much more random. Add that to the clock issue and I'm guessing it will be a good time to get it checked out and replaced if necessary.
  13. Obviously the manual is next to useless but I was told that the battery level should be in the mid point on 12 volts. This can move sightly when first starting the car in cold weather but it should settle in the middle of the display.
  14. Need some advice about my battery. Just before Christmas the car wouldn't start and seemed to just 'catch' when the start button was depressed. I stopped pressing it and tried straight away and it started without fuss. Didn't think much of it as it was pretty cold and only happened once. My car is booked in for a service on the 17th of Feb and I have asked them to do a battery check on it. I have noticed that the battery level indicator is all over the place...sometime above the centre level and sometimes below. Today I noticed that my clock was half an hour slow and am guessing that it's a battery issue. The battery will be 4 years old at the service and I'm guessing the cost if replaced will be over £100 as my IS250 had to have it replaced last year. Does this sound like a simple battery problem?
  15. Not me...I've just been a bit more cautious then I was during the summer. Had a few back end slides though which makes me think next winter I must invest in some winter tyres.
  16. Cheers Stu....will have to have a look at Gleam machine now. I don't really see the point of the alloy protection from UF...I can do the same thing for a fraction of their cost...same as the glass treatment.
  17. Been thinking about getting them to do my full paint correction in a couple of months. How much are they asking for the new car protection? They don't seem to list prices for their services on their site.
  18. Got it as my default too..and earlier this week it flashed when the temp dropped to 3 degrees.
  19. Easiest way to check is if the ISF has DAB it has the LSD. You also get a 40 GB HD on the first of the facelift models as well.
  20. I wany to to see your F Peter...must arrange a meet soon.
  21. Try getting a C63 around a corner..when I test drove one before I bought the ISF all that power made it very hard to even try to attempt a corner that an M3 or ISF could breeze round. Sometimes the whole top trumps 'my engine is bigger than yours' means nothing in the real world. p.s. Peter...I'm going to be so jealous of that Wald spoiler of yours.
  22. I managed a proper slide in a (thankfully) empty car park last week with just a bit of ice so no way am I taking mine out in any snow.
  23. One thing...Not giving it time to cool before switching off? This isn't an old school turbo here. Why would you need to do that? The dealer told me this too when I bought my car.....haven't heard it before with a NA engine.
  24. Just had a letter from Lexus about another ISF recall....this time about the cooling fan. Seems there could be an issue where the screws which secure the engine cooling fan motors to the fan shroud could become loose over time. This apparently could interfere with the operation of the cooling fans and engine temp could increase. Hedge End did mention this last week to me but said it was only a minor issue that they will look at in my service next month.
