  1. Yeah the only ls460 that can be LPG converted is the ones that are in Gulf countries I think it is to do with the fact that we have direct injection and we don't They maybe dont have direct injection because they dont care about the cost of fuel or emissions We have 1URFSE and they have 1URFE They are both the same engines just we have direct injection and they have normal injection
  2. Why get rid of a car that you can drive for "mondeo money" to replace it with a car that is less refined and you said yourself it is less comfortable and costs twice as much to run If I was you I know what I would be doing
  3. Is there any way apart from beam benders to adjust the headlamps on a MK4 to LHD ? I know on the VW passat there is a switch on the top of the lamps and I was wondering if there was something similar on the Lexus
  4. To be honest I am looking at spening under £1500 obviously I am going to be putting LPG on it and there is only one person I trust to do this job and it will cost me around about £1800 so that is why I am on a bit of a limited budget. I don't want one already done as they are normally getting rid for a reason. Mileage does not matter as long as the car has been looked after (receipts to prove) If anyone has a mk4 around about my price bracket then I am all ears.
  5. An old saying goes like this..................... “Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.”
  6. I would put the flashlube on just to be on the safe side Knowing my luck if I didn't it would break Its better to have it and have no problems than not have it and have problems Anyway as for having it converted, without starting a war and without hijacking a thread these are some photos of a gs430 that I have found. This is how I would expect a job to be done and I would pay top dollar if it was like this. What do you think ...........
  7. Do you seriously think I do not have a job :-P I work for a living haha P.S when I do get my new car I will post pictures up of it. Hopefully it will be on par with Marks car
  8. If you're happy with that level of work then that is ok. Just be aware of what you are getting into You have seen at least 3 or 4 different pictures of different conversions an you choose to go with the most unprofessional looking job that looks like it's just been dug up I am not advertising any company and I am not trying to sway you towards any company more than the next but I feel that people here are smart enough to look at photos and be able to recognise shoddy workmanship and a proffessional job
  9. That is really neat Mark. I like that and even that was "thrown in" in a day :P Thrown in with a tiny bit off care too. I cannot wait to get one and get a gas system on it
  10. There was no nastiness from anyone. It was just me. If it came across as nastiness I am awfully sorry. It was meant to come across as me feeling sorry for you as you have a really low mileage outstanding car and I feel that it has been let down now. Your car is in fantastic condition and people will say that to you But now they will say "fantastic car, shame about the LPG installation" But if you are happy with your 28K miles mint condition car looking like that now then that is nothing to do with me it is your choice. I just know I would be a little bit upset. Anyway good luck and hope everything goes ok in the future for you and you have many problem free miles in your car - after all they allegedly go for 500K miles.
  11. Eend of the nastineess as I didn't want it to come to this Hope you have some problem free miles to enjoy your car
  12. Hahaha I actually am 23 years old looking to buy a Lexus I have done my research on these cars and as a result have seen some nice ones and some awful ones. I am just comparing that is all. And when I get one of these cars I will have it converted by someone who I choose from past recommendation. No names and no advertising but I am going to use someone who does it properly and not half-assed. Also Mr Bluesman that isn't my car but I would be happy with that conversion. It looks professional
  13. Fair enough and I thought it was only reduced road tax on cars registered after 2001 as cars earlier on have "cheaper" road tax anyway !!! Fair points anyway Mr Bluesman. By the way your car was converted by Profess. Guessing it was done in a day. Do you have an underbonnet pic so we can compare :P I dont want anyone shooting me down but please just look here http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/72355-ls400-lpg-converted/ The majority of the kit it put in the same place but it is so much nicer on the eye. Please say you agree
  14. I understand you have a LS430 will this work for the LS400 too ??
  15. Correct life is far too short I totally agree with you Credit where credit is due. The tank end and filler is perfect. Can't fault it, apart from the capacity but other than that its fitted well. Unfortunately the only up-side is that the car runs fine. I will be interested to see how many MPG it gets on LPG. I am not trolling by any means at all. In my opinion it is messy and looks like it has been thrown in. Especially the way those injectors have been cable-tied to the ouside of that engine cover. Just drilled 2 holes and threaded cable-ties through. It is a bit crude Looking at the curve of the cover on the picture of the injectors they would totally fit underneath it. To make it easier you could put 10mm spacers in the bolts that hold the cover down. Just looks too rushed to me. Besides that also the comments about the UKLPG being a law amongst themselves why did you feel the need to have your car externally checked by another company ? Genuine question this is not a criticism at all. If you are happy with the way it is running then thats great but for such an outstanding car that you have and such low mileage if it was mine I would want that to be a bit neater. Hope this comes across correctly and not as if I am trolling because I am really not
  16. Emer is an old donkey. Kinda like the ls400. It's big bulky and hard to hide stuff. So I see your point. But it can be done with a bit of effort Never had dealings with emer injection. Only old emer mixers. They worked well. Hope it's ok for you.
  17. Absolutely everybody is entitled to an opinion. Tank is a nice neat job. Same as filler. It's just under bonnet. Believe me you will feel embarrassed showing that off if you see some others. At least it runs ok though
  18. I do not work for the "LPG police" I couldn't care less who does it just get it done right. That doesn't look the best at all. And it seems if I hadn't had said it someone else would have. The problem now is whn your car needs a service people will not want to touch it as there are pipes and wires in a disorderly fashion which is a real shame on such a nice car. If I was you I would at least ask the person who converted it to tidy it up a little bit.
  19. I'm glad someone agrees with me. I don't want it to turn into a slanging match also as for flashlube I admire you for putting it on your car eventhough it might not need it. It's better to have and not need rather than not have and need later when it's too late
  20. Yes sorry about the towbar comment as I have already stated. The tank is very neat as I have already said. Is there a reason why it was "independantly" checked. Is the person who fitted the system not approved by UKLPG ??? I am not bothered where you take your business. I couldn't care less really but what I don't like to see is shoddy workmanship. It is a pet hate of mine. There is a set of pictures on this forum with LPG on the car and it looks professionally installed. I just feel with people fighting for business these days they would put some effort into doing the work once they get the job. Glad it doesn't switch back to petrol at high revs. That is a big plus. See..... I am not all negative I suppose that you don't have to open the bonnet with it being a lexus anyway as it will hardly ever brake so if it runs correctly it doesn really matter about the quality of the work
  21. Sorry about the filler I was looking at the photo on a low res phone and didn't see the towbar. That is actually quite neat. Still unimpressed about the underbonnet though. Hope it runs ok and you have no trouble out of it
  22. Unfortunately if someone had done that to my car I would be taking it back The injectors will fit under the cover. The ecu will fit out of sight behind the driverside strut top and the vaporiser will fit behind the driverside fog light at the bottom. Also the filler on the back is a bit low and is easily knocked when reversing and requires an adaptor. Whole lot looks like it has been thrown in in less than a day. Does not justify a 4 day job unfortunately. I would expect a lot more for the money and time spent on that. Also being an AEB system it will probably switch back to petrol at high revs. However on a positive note...... Nice tank fitting. Shame about the rest of it. Hope it runs ok for you p.s I am not trolling I am being truthful. My opinion and I have seen better work done quicker and cheaper.
  23. Any photos with the under-bonnet installation ?? Also why such a small tank ? I have heard that a 103ltr water capacity tank will fit in the spare wheel well or is that 83ltr how much gas you actually get into it ? Would love to see the location of things under the bonnet Thanks
