But my car was registered with my personal plate. I need to get age related plates made before it goes in p/ex

I have gone through the Gov.UK site (to remove my personal plate) to the point where I have to pay but could not see how I get an age related number to replace it. I have done this before but cannot remember where the age relate number comes from?

Is the so called second generation hybrid system that will be in my new UX be noticeably better than my existing UX?

Mine is 2 years old this week. Still only 5000 miles so very low use, no motorways just local shops etc, never reset the trip and it’s showing 52.8mpg.

This topic is beginning to concern me. My 2021 Takumi system is easy ish to operate and it shows the map while driving and requires no day to day input. i have a 2023 Takumi coming next month with the new touch screen. Can it be left showing the map, I have to have my phone on me every time I go out which for an older person is not as obvious as it seems for the younger generation. I do not want to have to input or accept thing ever time I use the car.

Thanks guys, you may be right. It did look more like a battery on its side (wider, not as boxy) than the box shown but you must be right. I will try and recreate it some time. Thanks again all.👍

Interesting answer David as we had 4 detours because of closed roads going the rural route to Gloucester from Bristol this morning. Each time it said +1min and why a battery symbol in orange? I have asked my dealer and they cannot answer but I am sure the full answer will come along soon. Thanks. Poor councils using up their 2022/2023 budgets 😂😂

Orange battery symbol??? Used my sat nav this morning, first time for a long time and I had a battery symbol appear. Cannot make it do it now but it was just to the right of the curser (red circle) in the black column under the destination info. It was like an A4 battery on its side in orange, the width of the column. It had “+1min” on the battery.

Do not test drive it because you will buy it and every time you fill up with petrol you be thinking of how much more it is costing you for something you do not need. 😂

I am on my second UX. bought in September 2021, still only done 3,800 miles. Never reset the fuel consumption figure, I am on 48.1 mpg. Always drive in Economy mode as I find it softer and more relaxed around town. So all short journeys and virtually no motorways.

Any updates on the original problem? My Takumi was left for 2 weeks in its normal place outside my garage and it had severe wet on the inside of the front screen. I have checked the car, my dealer has checked as well and there is no signs of water inside the car. Did about 15 miles yesterday to ensure the inside got warm, after advice from the dealer I am using auto a/c on and turned on the Nonoe filter. Below freezing again tonight and it looks like it’s misting up again inside. Any suggestions?

Still waiting for a call back but I was told when I picked the car up it was not fitted with a kick function so what am I expecting? I am logging out and deleting this app. Goodbye everybody.

My Takumi does NOT have the kick sensor fitted. It was built mid 2021, registered September 2021. The service department have done a diagnostic check and cannot find an on/off circuit which means it’s not there. The dealership are going to get me an answer. Came away with a lovey clean car so worth a visit and a chance to look around the new site. Who has a late 2021/2022 Takumi with the kick function?

Very interesting Nick. I have never tried mine because I was told on hand over last September that it was no longer fitted. Just phoned Lexus Bristol and they confirmed Takumi models should indeed have the kick function. I have just tried several times and nothing so as suggested I am going to call in for a plug in diagnostic. Will let you know the outcome.

I have been with Lexus Insurance (Aioi Nissay Dowa) since 2007. They are not the cheapest at £460 this year. (73, max NCD, clean licence) But the two main reasons are if the car is written off during the first year from new it is replaced with a new car and in the event of an accident it goes to a Lexus centre and genuine Lexus parts/panels are used. For me that’s worth a bit extra cost. After spending over £40K you cannot insure it with Insure My Banger,co.uk and have it repaired by anybody.

I bought my Takumi in September 2021 after just over two years with my UX with a Premium Pack. It drives exactly the same. Would I go into more debt to buy one?, no. I love it but at the time after 18 months of Covid and no holidays I needed cheering up, had a bit of extra cash so went for it and do not not regret it one bit even though I only found out a couple of months ago about the extra yearly road tax. Love the larger sat nav screen, the sun roof (not used it much yet) the electric seats and steering wheel moving away for easy getting in and out and auto folding door mirrors are all great. Not used the heads up display yet. Only you can decide if it’s worth the extra money, depends I suppose weather you are a car person or it’s just a box for transport. I am a car person and it’s costs me tens of thousands in my lifetime 😂😩😂

The kick option to open the boot was removed sometime in early 2021 I believe. Mine was built in around May 2021 and does not have it. I was told on hand over that it was because of possible tow bar fitting, I suspect it was because it caused owners and dealers too much grief.

It’s the cold weather. All my Lexus cars have been the same hybrid or not. I am a very low mileage just local driving around and about old fart. Since new last September my second UX reached the high 52’s before now being 48.6 that’s over 1550 miles since new. It will start going up soon.
