Collect Tuesday morning. Tow bar needs fitting etc first.. I've managed around 7k in the Luxury loan car so it'll be interesting to compare now I'm really used to it.

..I was thinking the same last week as I drove up the M6 wobbling the selector knob..I soon stopped fiddling just in case I pulled the whole thing out.

I've certainly noticed a marked difference in sensitivity at speed between Sport and Normal/ECO modes.

I buy WR40 in 5Ltr lots as it has so many uses - I use it on my motorcycle wheels and have done since the white FZR wheels in the '90's so why not on the F Sport - good call!

Just a note to those waiting for their car to be delivered as I've been advised the delivery date has gone back around a week from my original slot. Fortunately I have an IS h on loan so it's no drama, but you may like to check if this affects you.. Oh well - makes the new car joy even more enjoyable I guess and perhaps a consequence of the car's popularity..

Thanks David and that may explain why I couldn't find anything. IF the alerts were reliable and 100% accurate I could understand it, but they are far far from it. The miles I do I really have to rely on my own observations to keep my license clean, which (dare I say) I've managed so far. It is incredibly annoying..

Folks My loan car is equipped with Sat Nav which some may say is a good thing, but it's driving me nuts. For 95% of the time in the car and that's a fair amount of time I don't use/need it and even though it's as off as I can make it the damn speed camera alerts keep coming. So if I'm listening to music which I normally am it is really really annoying. I am unable to locate a 'Turn Alerts Off' tab, so can someone direct me please or do I really have to live with it? Thx

OK - So here's my Mexican friend's key fob and you can see the button to press that starts the engine (easy when you know!) Perhaps our cars have this function and we just need the key fob enabled?

I have plenty of Muc Off here to clean my bikes with so tend to just use this on most things, but I did plan to check with Lexus what's best on the F Sport alloys. Muc Off is an alkaline solution so I don't want to tarnish the finish. I like the sound of Steve's treatment after the wheels are clean to coat them with something, but I do think the coating my be a little fragile and will require slightly more attention especially in the winter..

My understanding is that the camera is only with the Nav system. It's very likely that there simply haven't been any non Nav F Sports through the dealership that made the comment. When I ordered my non Nav F Sport ages ago, I could have had a Nav model much sooner, but the free upgrade was on Luxury (and maybe SE?) only and I didn't want to spend £2k on something I have for nowt already on my iPhone. Here is a document I was given by a Lexus dealer that simply details the main differences in specification between the models and have a look at the nav upgrade that clearly states with reversing camera. The 300 that I'm driving now has the camera and in my opinion it's a waste of time. Any rain or low light and it's very fuzzy at best - perhaps I'm just old school but prefer to see first hand what I'm going to hit..

When I picked the loan car up, I was out of the car transferring stuff from 1 car to another at which point the engine sparked into life and I had the key in my hand messing with the buttons as I was in a mess with opening the doors/boot etc. had moved the car 50 yards beforehand. I have witnessed a colleague with a brand new Chevrolet SUV thing in Mexico also messing with his key just to open the boot to put our bags in (we had not opened the car doors at this point and the car was where the delivery driver left it) and the engine fired up - made us both laugh mind.. So I'm wondering if there's a way to start the engine from outside of the car deliberately.. Could just be a load of nonsense (one of my strengths) but the Chevrolet thing got me thinking...

Makes me jump when you're out of the car and the engine starts - it's automatic but if you're fiddling with the key at the time it's a bit disconcerting..

I'm having an issue with the Lexus display for my phone and I spend a lot of time on the phone whilst driving so it's important for me. Incoming calls from numbers I have stored are being displayed as just the number so I have no idea who's calling. Similarly if I go into the call history to make a call I have a mixture of numbers and names - seems rather random. Anybody have the same issue or able to advise a solution? Thx

My loaner has plenty of DAB stations and I'm toggling between Planet Rock and 80's stations - made the >400 miles today fly by... Not that this helps you one bit - Sorry.
