Just learnt my ct premier 2014 has left Japan and is enroute to uk via Singapore and points east of here. Should arrive uk late march for delivery to me v early April. I guess if others have orders in, could be on same ship. So six weeks or so to wait still.

I read on a US owners club site that whilst the drive train is shared the software is not and the fault is in the software. So I think one must wait for a recall notice to be issued which based on the US posting is unlikely.

The motor relies on the solenoid to throw the starter drive into the engine. If the solenoid is stuck the previous poster's suggestion of a hammer helps. If the battery is not fully charged then there isnt enough power for the solenoid to throw. The fact you were jumped and it now restarts suggests the combination of jump and subsequent drive has put some power into the battery - for now. The risk is the battery might not be securely holding a charge. Have someone check the battery condition. If they report good then you just need a decent run to recharge it. If they report poor cells it's going to need a new battery.

The 2014 models are 1000-1500 less than the outgoing models. Add to that you ought to be able to get a discount on a 2014. See car broker broadspeed as an indication. There does not seem to be much withdrawn in features from the 2013 but 2014 has a number of improvements including a spacesaver spare. A 2013 would have to be a cracking deal to be attractive

The mpg and emissions are both indicated to be better for 2014 on 16" than 17". The emissions on all rims are supposed better in 2o14 model versus earlier version

I don't think it's the factory extras that is the delay. I ordered three days after uk sales codes were issued in v early jan and end march was estimated. As sales have picked up now for what is a worldwide launch then it must lengthen the time before any ct gets into the build schedule. I too called for 16" even though all the write ups claim they've addressed the ride. I think it's the right call. Good news the new ct comes with a spare wheel!
