  1. You're very welcome and I feel sure you'll have a great experience with your new car Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  2. I have a 2014 premier on 16's - I test drove the 17's - imho the ride is better on 16's but some say the aesthetics are better in 17's - I'm not concerned about looking lower its about mpg with me and the factory stats say mpg in 16's is higher. Finally and here's the rub look at the replacement cost of 16's v 17's - the 16's are very much lower price - so for me it's a no brainer - 16's Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  3. Would be interested in this too. I gave a 2o14 premier and iphone and have never seen texts or emails on the ct though I do normally connect Bluetooth Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  4. No you don't because when the car locks the door mirrors fold inwards so you can see from quite a distance that it's locked Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  5. If you read the USA sites there's a lot of discussion on this where they estimate 100moles in the reserve. I typically get 35 litres in on refuel soon after light appears so I'd say that 10l is absolutely normal - given that's over 2 gallons then 100 miles is perfectly possible on reserve but I guess no one would push it to that although the yanks seem to do it with a can in the rear so as to compete and see how far over they can get over 500 miles on a tank Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  6. Absolutely agree - great to be different and to be with tried and tested and reliable technology. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  7. I don't use it for regen - but for eg slowing on a very steep hill down to the sea - but then I forget occasionally to set it back. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  8. Good to know I'm not the only one Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  9. Just for info - if you accidentally like I did leave the drive in B - you can't engage cruise - logical but a bit perturbing until you realise your error Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  10. Oh and the album artwork comes over from the stick! Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  11. I have a premier with sat nav - my music and albums are on a USB stick - search these forums and you'll find jnd that's so tiny you can close the USB door. The voice control allows a lot of controls - mainly I use it to dial - but I have an iphone and all the contacts are brought in from the phone on blue tooth. You can also ask it to play an artist or song etc. also you can control the sat nav - for instance if you have programmed it in say go home and it'll provide a route home. I was advised not to programme your exact home in for security reasons should anyone gain access they'd know you were away or some such reason - there are other uses and they are in the manual for instance say dial then say the numbers and it'll dual them hands free. The manual is daunting but it is revelationary - good luck Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  12. Also if you have them full on then if fitted the auto dim for night driving on the sat nav won't operate. It's in the manual around page 47 - no not a geek just coincidentally checking why mine won't auto dim last nite Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  13. You may be interested to look at a car broker website. I looked at broadspeed. Whilst you might not want or like to go their purchase route - and I've not heard anything bad - it does indicate how much 'give' there is in the headline prices and it could prove useful in driving a dealer deal? Might close the price for you? Good luck Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  14. I looked at the auris and test drove it and it seemed forgettable - nothing drew me to it - similarly the prius also can't stand the shape nor honda's hybrid. Looked at a small Volvo but in the end the ct looked stylish drives well and is super reliable. It's drawn lots of good comments since I've had it especially the colour combination of ultra blue with cream leather. Ignore all talk about sluggish response - it's perfectly well powered for normal driving - if you want 0-60 in 6 seconds you'll not be looking here anyway - the key is in a good long test drive - uh and go for 16" wheels - they're not quite as cutting edge as the seventeens but a softer ride - better fuel economy marginally and half the price to replace. I'm pleased I waited for the 2o14 facelift model - just a shame they dropped the grey leather option which I quite liked. I just saw the latest stars on uk registered CT's and there's over 14,000 so there's a lot if others who agree Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  15. Both mark levinson and a spare wheel are standard if you get a 2014 model premier. There are a lot if other upgrades in 2014 worth looking at. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  16. Nothing lowly when you drive a Lexus we're all above the salt! Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  17. For tilting side mirrors I assume you mean when selecting reverse. If you have the option - my 2014 premier has it - you set the mirror adjustment switch to the right and they will auto dip on selecting reverse. If the mirror adjustment switch is centred or if the option is not installed - they won't Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  18. And if everyone did that you'd be stuffed when you were with a car full of kids and were really needing the space. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  19. Tend to agree with 200h - similarly those whose use disabled bays when not so or pick up and set down bays to nip for cash at supermarket, those that hover on double yellows or stop in yellow boxes outside the fire station to answer their phone, It's laziness combined with inconsideration grrrr. Any one else with pet hates? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  20. You have a point but - with a car with under 5000 miles and still the new toy and not yet the utility vehicle it feels right to extend the prime looks. I'm sure a more relaxed view will arrive but want to keep it good for as long as possible. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  21. I endorse your comments. I have just returned from France and picked up a stone dink that looks very like a supermarket wound so could be either - it goes in on 30th and quote is £185 so consistent with this thread. I do think the ct paint is susceptible to damage I particular suffer from the adverse effects on the paint from seagull guano - I don't know if they think my ultra blue is the sea but it has attracted vile quantities of the stuff and if you don't get it off quick it's eaten into the clear coat Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  22. It was discussed but there just wasn't time and frankly I'm not great on heights Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  23. So here then is the result of last weeks long distance test. I had to go from Ashford via Paris to Carcassonne area for work then a longer route back to include the weekend via Narbonne Lyon Cluny Epernay Laon and Calais - took east route to avoid other choice of Bordeaux Calais via Le Mans - race was on. So time was short and most journey was on toll autoroute at national limits - total travelled 1631 miles 2610 kilometres average mpg on fill to fill calculations 48.3 or 5.9 litres per 100km. Now given largest portion was spent at 80 mph this is a creditable outcome I think. The ct200 has now done 3025 miles since new. Now with the car fully loosened up is the time to see what the next. 3000 miles and more conservative driving can achieve. My uk usage might mean that could be 5 months away! Thanks Michael - now back in the uk - I wasn't away long enough to bother with local lexus dealers and it wasn't so important but I've reported it in uk and they are "looking into it" but it's new technology here so they're not sure. As for danger - the drivers on French motorways are scary - they overtake at last minute - change lanes either without indicating or whilst still indicating the last but two manoeuvres. They come past at marginally faster speeds than you then hover as you get ever closer to the lorry in front - so you brake - then they speed off while you try to shoehorn your way into a lane to overtake. And narry a gendarme to be seen until close to channel when an isolated motorbike plucks a speeding Brit onto a slip road where two black vans wait to process the victim - not me! - the plus points - fabulously comfortable driving experience in a stunning car - never saw another one. Shame about the rear passenger door that now sports a dink from a stone that going to need some serious repair skills. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
