It's additional weight of rims in the large tyres - on the ct the base model has 15" and that's even more efficient . Refer

Just to throw another factor in - the ride in all 2014 models vary from earlier because of various facelift model changes - also you have to consider 16 v 17 wheels in ride effects. For my part the 2014 premier on 16's is perfectly comfortable.

No dispute with these opinions - i can get well into the 60's on individual journeys but not on averages over tank fills measured brim to brim. Given a range of 450 ish miles which will include several cold starts and a wide variety of geography road type traffic densities and journey lengths I believe it difficult to consistently get over the low 50's

Without nav it says
Press the DISP switch several times until the settings screen
Press and hold the DISP button to enter customise mode screen
Press DISP again and select vehicle
Press and hold DISP button to view customisation options
Sorry if that doesn't work - I don't have a non nav but it's what is in the pdf I found

Do you have the nav option or not. The instructions seem to be different for each - Google "headlight sensitivity setting on lexus ct 200" and you'll be offered two different pdf's - the settings are shown at around number 10-12 ish

The 40.9 is for average 12 mile journey ie whole tank distance divided by days between fill ups. When my average is that low it daily commutes of 3-4 miles interspersed with occasional longer journeys.

I do lift and Coast when I can - the killer is short town journeys often too and from work in rush hour of only 3 or 4 miles - the engine doesn't seem to get warmed up not that you can tell given lack of a gauge. In Cornwall on holiday recently - computer indications regularly showed journeys of 64-66 - in one case near mevagissey the lane was so narrow we switched to ev to pop us over the hill then glided down the other side recharging for miles. Bridport to Christchurch showed over 66 mpg and padstow to bridport similar. So I can get higher but only over longer.

Having done nearly 7000 miles and 19 tank fills since new I think I'm well used to driving the ct as best I can. On average based on pump fills not the onboard computer I am achieving 47.9 mpg. On a tank where the daily drive averaged 12 miles the consumption was 40.9 where the daily average was 90 miles the average was 53.60 and where the daily average was 281 just 44.8. Clearly lots of short journeys or hacking great motorway distances does for the consumption. The rated stats for the premier on 16's is 74.3 and I've only ever got there freewheeling off the Pyrenees! I'd hoped that knowing the manufacturers specs are over egged we might have got to 85% but I'm averaging 64.5% of the manufacturers spec. In all other respects I'm delighted with the car - just feeling a bit short changed on economy - mind you I'm only paying 60% of what I used to in the accord!

I use a silicon blade - it's available from halfords is about 30cm wide and is really soft- does the job you are asking and can be used to remove excess water from off glass and bodywork after washing the car before finally drying it.

Updates to the cars software are notified from time to time. My understanding is you load these into a formatted but empty memory stick them place it in the USB port in the centre console and from there the software can be uploaded. I am not aware there have been any updates this year.

Presumably this was the small service battery not the hybrid drive battery. If it is it is not as bullet proof - it can go - and you've probably been a bit unlucky

There is a lot of discussion on this in the USA site. The warning light comes on when the range indicated gets close to zero BUT and here's the thing - it seems the reserve is very generous - there are reports that you can drive up to 100 miles before the reserve is used up and some have been driving with a spare fuel
tank just to see how far they can get on a tank. The consensus is that's not advisable to run it down to the dregs. Hope you enjoy your new CT as much as I do

Yesterday I got my first text that appeared on the sat nav screen and it was read to me - so I'm not changing any more settings - it works - I also got a message from the car on the little multi display to the right of the speedo - washer fluid low - thank you CT!!
I also used the leather wipes that came with the supagard kit - whoops - I nearly slid off into the footwell and the steering wheel was not much better. Should come with a warning

Certainly dab is very patchy - we bought a dab for our flat and we can't pick up one station it! At least the ct is mobile !!
Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
Am sat in 2014 ct premier and pressing "stations" on the dab page automatically brings up 26 stations pressing presets brought up 5 - I think it's automatic unless you go to manual but does depend on location - currently on Dover sea front

Re washer . Try inserting a fine sewing needle into the nozzle thread eye end and twist to break up the blockage then operate the washer to flush out the debris

Years ago there was a product we bought on the m4 at a service station when the wipers packed up on the way home and it was sprayed on the windscreen and caused all the rain to be shed easily and we got home despite the rain - never seen it since

All autoglym I believe - he loves doing it and I love being the recipient of his generosity but I can't begin to understand how he does it.. :)
