  1. The new 2014 ct has a gps clock - with the gps clock set to auto update on, dst on and time zone set to Greenwich I expected the clock to change automatically which is what it says in the manual and what my iphone does. We entered France the sat nav said - you've crossed a border but I had to change the time zone to CET to get the clock updated whilst my I phone altered automatically. Something is not right More reports on the ct experience in France follows soon - just passed 3000 miles whilst away Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

  3. Yes but before you get in an Audi you have to have an operation to remove all consideration synapses and have them replaced with arrogant ones - at least that must be so to explain why I keep getting those four rings in my rear view inches off my back window Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  4. I just had to drive my old car to let someone test drive it and it just reinforced how happy I am with the new ct 200 premier 2014 on 16's. By all means make a comparison to a3 BMW 1 but try to match it spec for spec with the CT's features versus having to pay extra on the others and I think you'll be surprised at the cost Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  5. That's the one I've got the 64gb Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  6. Another thread has details of a stick so small it can be left in the USB slot and lid closed Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  7. Each to their own - the ct200 is chosen for precisely its particular characteristics - if those don't suit then it doesn't make it a bad car. Vw and Audi are fair suggestions but they are in numbers - the ct200 is unusual and fairly rare and for that more attractive to some. No car is perfect and we can all find faults in any car. The numbers of positive comments means that for many the ct meets the needs of its choosers Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  8. Lexus say not only the suspension tuning but it's the additional spot welds to stiffen the chassis that has allowed them to ease the suspension. 16's will ease ride over 17's but whether a different 16 will make much difference? I guess the lexus engineers may have considered it and gave us what they think is preferable. A lot of changes on 14 are subtle but you can't miss the new grill, the rear has changed, there is now tyre pressure monitoring, a spare wheel, changes to lights, the power take up has been reprogrammed, shark fin aerial, the nav doesn't fold any more and there's a little colour screen in the dash plus more. 9. Absolutely encore to that - I have a 2014 premier on 16's - very comfy - mostly 2 mile each way daily commutes with occasional motorway runs of 15 - 20 miles. Last two tanks averaged 49.8 brim to brim. Best according to display 61.7 on a 20 mile mixed run. About to do carcassonne and back which will be the real tester. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  10. Good luck - with the size of the manuals you may need the rest of next week too. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  11. Good info - thanks but before I remove my battery I'd hate it to be like some other batteried items where unless a battery is replaced within a quite short period - the item loses it's identity and has to be reprogrammed. I'm not saying lexus is like that but perhaps someone can provide reassurance on that point? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  12. For traffic camera read speed camera ! Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  13. Does anyone know how to change the settings for this. It needs to be disabled in France - I go next month - I get a couple of random beeps which seem to correspond with traffic camera proximity but I just can't figure the manual on this subject - any ideas. Very many thanks Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  14. I'm not sure the inside has changed much. The nav controller has changed dependent on the model. My 2014 premier still has the mouse but now you press it rather than operate side buttons. Other models have a knob. Some of the dash now has accents under buttons and there's now a tire pressure monitoring included. I went for the cream leather which is a little less extensive than before - limited to seats and door cards - the areas likely to get scuffed remain black - seat backs for instance. On an ultra blue it really looks grand. The grey leather option that I might have gone for is dropped in 2014. I have just passed 1000 miles with this new car and enjoying very much though striggling to get very good mieages. Most of my journeys are short though my best on a long run was 62.7. Just wished the seagulls would stop bombing it!.
  15. There are some very strange results here that calls into question the ratings - look how high the yeti scores in performance against others.... Also how can you honestly compare running costs of a city car against a luxury limousine - it's all a nonsense Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

  18. Others will no doubt also have read of the hatchet job that was the review published in last Sunday's Times Driving supplement. If the recent press hasn't convinced you that JC has lost the plot then this review should confirm it beyond doubt. I should like to know what alternative exists to the CT where 1. You want a car that delivers exceptional mpg and 2. It costs nothing to tax and 3. You don't want diesel because of emissions and because if used mostly around town you'll be blocking the DPF as fast as all the lanes on the M25 between J5 and 6 and 4. You dont want German - because you don't want a brain transplant which seems to happen to all Audi and BMW drivers the moment they acquire them. A transplant that reduces the consideration synapses and ups the arrogance ones and 5. You want mega comfort and 6. You want a hatchback To my mind the CT delivers in spades - mind you as you have all made the same choice you are the converted. What journalist will have the hutspah to raise their head above the trenches and declare JC just plain wrong.
  19. Mostly normal but Sport where I want the immediacy it offers. But I also use ev where I can. For instance the last bit of my journey into work is speed restricted and level so I switch to ev and glide the last bit. I have had my ct for just over a month. I struggle with mpg as my commute hardly warns the car but on longer runs I can easily get over 55 and on a 20 mile journey recently set a new record for me of 62.6. Overall it's quite a challenge to change the habits of 35 years of conventional driving. The great thing is with all the settings there's one to suit most times Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  20. One other advantage of the USB stick rather than blue tooth for music is that the album artwork carries over into the ct display - at least mine does - I dumped my entire iphone music into the low profile stick and it's works a treat Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  21. I have read that the battery will in most circumstances never reach fully charged nor be fully depleted, you found a circumstance where after a long downhill you had the longest period of recharging and therefore the best chance of reaching full charge. In normal use the car is using battery to mitigate petrol use wherever it can. That is not just at low speeds in ev - just as it grabs charge whenever it can. It also stops drawing charge when battery levels fall towards lowest level. So as you've experienced the battery charge will oscillate within a range. On mine it seems to be between 20 and 80 %. 22. The 2014 ct I have has a standard space saver but so far as I'm aware does not have separate bolts in the wheel well perhaps it's designed to accept alloy suitable bolts Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  23. It is possible FYI the 2014 has it as standard. There are other threads on here with the details. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  24. The brochure says it has led fogs and headlights I'm not sure about high beam but I assume they are halogens though may be hid. Last night shining at a white garage door on low beam there was a solid horizontal band of light. On high beam there's additional light higher and right to the extent that it looks as though only the offside head is full beaming but both are on Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
