  1. i bought my clear front & rear indicators from here matrix
  2. Had a simular leaking problem on my mates 1997 LS400. His turned out to be the drain from the sunroof had come off. There are pipes leading from the sunroof and going through the roof lining, down the rear window pillars and out through vents in the boot floor. His were clear braided nylon tube and the offside tube had come off/broke in the rear pillar. The water just soaked the boot area and carpets. Took ages to find, even had the rear screen refitted before discovering the pipes were at fault.

  4. The lamps need no real modding if going on a MK3, but you end up without a rear fog light, you can put a red bulb in to simulate a fog light but its not as bright (no internal reflective chrome). Also the bulb holes have to be trimmed to take a UK bulb. These lamps were for the Japanese market and they use a slimmer capless bulb. No messing with wiring is required if you use the old bulb holders and trim the lamp. The same goes for the Mk2 set but the inner lamps with the key hole are wider.I didn't end up using the inner set for two reasons, the MOT man failed me for a fog lamp and my number plate would not fit between the lamps. they have smaller plates oversea's. Its only about an inch but it looks OK with the original red inner cluster and a Red/White outer cluster. I cant post any pics of both cars (me is thick) but if you leave your email I'll send some if you want
  5. Try driving for a while with a lead foot (teach the car who's boss). As mentioned above, It may be the gearbox/throttle memory, mine went back to Lexus for a simular fault. The mechanic took my car out for a while and after that it drove like a different car. Apparently if the battery is removed or you drive it gently, the car learns and adapts itself to that way of driving.
  6. Monday 1st -Whitefield, Mancheser. Silver/Green LS400 J**TEX All the windows down with Gilbert O'sullivan blasting out of the CD. Hope it wasn't you !
  7. The do the front clear indicators but not the side wing indicators. I'm still searching
  8. I ordered a full set of JDM lights from USA , they were picked up by USPS at 10am Saturday in California. 1pm the were shown by USPS tracker at leaving LA airport. At 11.27am Monday Royal Mail Parcel Force had them in my sweaty palms in Manchester. By 1pm both front indicators and all four rear clusters were fitted and I was back on the road. New coloured bulbs were also included in the kits. How come when I try to buy off a local company via the mail everything goes pear shaped. I bought some stuff before now from a company and it has took 10 days to arrive. That stuff was only travelling 50 miles, it would have been quicker to have walked there for it. I've not put the name of the company in this post incase its against the forum rules but the stuff was cheap For Anyone interested: 4 front clear indicators and 4 rear red/clear light clusters for a 97 mk3 LS400 AND 4 rear light clusters for a 94 mk2 LS400 = TOTAL including p&p £265 ($465), it cost another £31 to wire the money via western union (i think its a US bank problem).
  9. Before I bought mine I asked the dealer if IS200's would fit, they said they wouldn't because of the offset. I eventually bought some aftermarket 18's & tyres, they transform the car but you loose a bit of ride comfort. On the plus side they hold the road very well with a wider tyre. Took a few mile to get used to cornering again, on standard tyres seem to get a slight delay in cornering (think its the larger tyre wall), with low profiles it's an instant responce.
  10. I use Stockport alot, A = £170+vat, B= £300 & cambelt change £300. Never had any problems, they ring if you require any extras fitted and if you book in advance they will collect your car and leave a IS200.
  11. I wouldn't get very far :o That seems a bit crap actually when you consider other countries have limits higher than that, unrestricted even - is this just a feature for UK models of the TTG? ← You can set the limit to any speed, it comes as 100mph default. When reached it turns the map function off and just talks the route.
  12. but the TomTOm Go does shut the map off when you go above 100 mph
  13. it's amazing what you can achieve when you know what your doing. No more error code Cheers
  14. to be honest is was about 9am and a bit murky. I'll give it a try mid afternoon. Just realised that i gave the interior a going over with some leather cleaner, i may have got some residue on the sensor. which sensor is it? the domed one or the flat one next to the domed one on the drivers side.
  15. so I could live without it the air con seems to works fine but the sensor sounds expensive to change.
  16. I've Just done the error code check on the air con With the ignition off, whilst pushing both the buttons marked 'auto ' and the air re-circulate one with the picture of an arrow curling to the right, turn on the ignition. All the little green indicators will flash, and the screen shows 00. Press again the air re-circulate button and the system goes to sensor check. It goes through all the heater vent controls, the button functions, including front screen de-ice, temp change, etc, and a code appears in the display. These are the codes 00=normal 11=inside temp. sensor 12=outside t/s. 13=After evap. sensor 14=water temp.heater radiator 21=solar sensor 22=compressor lock detected [short of refrigerant does this one] 23=coolant pressure 31=air-mix servo potentiometer 32=IN/OUT change damper servo potentiometer 33=Mode damper S/p 41=air-mix damper S/p. 42=IN/OUT change damper S/p 43 mode damper s/p To cancel push the 'off' button I've got the error code "21" = solar sensor Can anyone say what the solar sensor does and if its worth getting repaired. The error has only just developed as I check the system each month.
  17. LS400 1994 This may have a very simple answer but I can't find it. How can the boot be opened with the keys in the ignition ? The remote boot release deactivates when the keys are in and I've tried the lock next to the remote lever in both positions but I still have to turn off the ignition!!!
  18. Get your kids to light your cigs for ya :P Got exact same problem on my mates '97 LS400. All fuses seems OK but didn't want to take console out. I'll be interested if you find an easy remedy.
  19. yeah, easy to remove and refit the lamps but the modding took extra time. Just have to solve the pink fog lamp. It looks as though he's advertising for a cheap gay brothel.
  20. just an update Has anyone found new clock/temp screens yet for the Mk2 ??
  21. I put a set of clear front bumper lights into my MK2 LS400 & my mates MK3 LS400. The 2 cars have different lights but doing both cars only took about 10 minutes. The came with orange capless bulbs in the box. Four lamps per car for £40 I couldn't get the rear lights for the Mk2 but fitting the four rear light clusters on the MK3 took about an hour (cost £150). The problem was that the new clear lamps came with coloured capless bulbs. Our British bulbs (capped) would not fit into the bulb opening. A little fine tuning with a "dremmle" and nail file sorted the problem. The other problem was the imported clear lamps dont have red fog lamp section, its a clear reverse lens. It seemed simple just to put a red bulb in but it glows pink!!! - not my car so I've left it in. I'll find out at the MOT if its leagle.
