  1. I have only covered just over 10k in two years so no real issue if that is your findings. I had a Honda CRZ before the Lexus so we are miles apart although did try a few other makes. Have you seen the 5th Gear IS F Sport review Jason Plato seems to get the point of the car well...I was really surprised the video wasnt the usual Lexus hate job .
  2. I would rather the tyres were the same width so I can swap them about to increase mileage however; having just though about it that probably works better on fwd anyway. I don't mind the ride on my 2014 CT but did find the 2014 CT F Sport annoying so your comment is good to know as I did wonder about those 35" rubber bands.
  3. Thanks for the reply. Interesting to note 10 mpg drop, is that more so on the motorway? I know driving one will be good and want factor will go up so deciding on the finances first beforehand. My CT Advance is a 2014 and has the newer SAT NAV that's in your IS which I use very little for directions and when I do, find its annoying to operate. I agree with you on the posh voice.
  4. I'm mulling over an upgrade, Has anyone tried a Sport yet? Are the wheels different front and back in terms of width and being 18 inch how does it ride and handle compared to 17 inch wheels. I don't think it has the same suspension as an FSport but reading the specs on Lexus website is not always accurate. One last thing I'm interested to read the opinions from anyone who has gone from a CT to an IS Thanks
  5. Mine displays the number not the contract name. I thought this was normal? I had an S4 now an LG G4 same thing. I also don't get emails anymore but can't fathom why not and also recon it would be distracting so left it.
  6. The manual mentions not using abrasives. I know you can machine polish it but its apparently a pita to do successfull albeit most refer to Nissans . I wasnt aware Scholl made a compatible one though which is good to know. I appy all the steps in washing mine like you posted with a foam lance addition. After deox, tar removal the paint was treated to a wipe down using Bilthamber cleanser fluid which left it perfect for some C2V3 layers. I hate swirls they really bug me and im well impressed with this top coat.
  7. Anyone who has a 2014 model should take care with polishing the paint as may affect the self healing top coat. I would make sure any polish is non abrasive.
  8. It's a massive subject check out www.detailing world.co.UK which is a wealth of info. This guide from Polishedbliss is a good read http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/car-care-advice.html Just make sure you get the washing technique down before spending all that time detailing your car only to undo it at the first wash. I could recommend a load of stuff but would suggest Bilthamber products as hard to beat for price and results. However as you have the AG stuff just add Iron fallout remover of our choice and for clay the Bilthamber autoclay soft which is designed to be used with water.
  9. Surely your not saying the magazine favourite is not as good as a Lexus. Seriously though welcome onboard.
  10. http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-news/motoring-issues/2015/budget-2015-how-it-affects-uk-motorists/. BIK seems better thought out and still encourages low emission purchases more. One of the better links I've found explaining it all.
  11. why they didn't just increase the values on the emmisions scale we currently have so all car owners have to pay something is beyond me. If I keep my current car after 2017 as I understand it I will pay zero but if I buy a new CT I'll pay 140 a year for the privilege.. Makes sense
  12. 5 year old high performance cars will hold value well after 4 years or so. There is a lot you can take from that!! lexus need electric only vehicles or will loose sales in the lower end of their market. Shame as they seem to be on the up atm.
  13. Toyota and Lexus will be hit very hard by this in new car sales in uk when this comes in as will others.
  14. Mine has the same switch.. Thanks for the bit about the dealer being able to adjust the sensor if need be.
  15. You can reconfigure how the locks behave by going into the vehicle settings..
  16. Last night my alarm went off twice in in quick succession . Each time I checked it and nothing was out order. It has been okay since however I have read the manual and its less than clear how I turn the alarm off but still have the car locked. I don't plan on doing it for obvious reasons but wonder how you do it? The second time I opened all the front doors and turned the car on and off
  17. Mine has done 7k and not used a drop. I suspect your right in that it's been the service and not topping up enough. Still its better than a major overfill. Maybe I'm lucky but Lexus Edinburgh have been spot on with any dealings I've had. As I live 30 odd miles away I used their express service and it was great.
  18. Even when you work it out its likely you will forget as its so intuitive. Dual to single is in the settings Option which is one of the many you select ie HOME, POSTCODE etc. Sorry I am not in the car right now. For the compass once you get the pointer on the compass click on the wheel to select different modes.
  19. Interesting comment about tyres as my CRZ had Yokos as well. Not much I can do about the tyres as they only have 6K on them. I recon Sport mode allows more wheel spin before the traction control cuts power which may be better. I wonder if IS300H owners have issues with traction despite being RWD.
  20. Folks do you find it tricky to pull out briskly in the wet sometimes. What I am experiencing is when I accelerate the car moves fine then a split second latter the traction is lost when the cvt transmission or seems to catch up and all that battery aided torque arrives. This is usually worst when its damp. I would like to add that I am not doing "full race starts". Tyre pressures help but dont eradicate it. My previous car was a Honda CRZ hybrid which also had a similar issue with traction but that was from the instant the throttle was applied but due to being a manual it was easier to manage. I put it down to the hybids battery assisting and dumping instant torque which is great in the dry but can be a pest when its wet and you are in heavy traffic at junctions.
  21. My 2014 model cars. DAB works perfect on mine and displays the song and sat nav displays lanes on the motorway junctions. the update cost is a way too much though and the control method for the sat nav is frustrating to use.
  22. I have been using the same pencil gauge for longer than I can remember. What so you folks use and any that have been checked against a reliable benchmark. Any links to a decent one digital or not I don't care.
  23. When my Android phone updated to the latest version my voice tags went wrong. When I asked for say home it went to random contact s. I replaced them all and is been fine since. Check your phones version other than that you'll need to contact Lexus of you loose the tags again. Try setting up a voice tags using another phone as you can have more than one Bluetooth phone paired and check if that looses them as well.
  24. My Samsung s4 played up with the latest update loosing voice tags which was a pest to redo. If a text comes in when streaming bluetooth It stops playing even crashed the media until I restarted the car.
  25. You did well to even get multiple destinations into the sat nav in the first place. You can only delete the destination from the list in edit which as you mention is hardly safe whilst driving.
