  1. Glad all that work paid off
  2. I got 3 services and a load of cash off and the salesmans tie :-). The Advance had everything I wanted and happened to have sat nav. I get the sensible argument for going Garmin etc but they are a target for tea leafs and having to remove each time would bug me...less than paying a grand for inbuilt on though. I do like the big screen in my Advance which is easily read without having to take eyes off the road to far.
  3. I seem to recall I was entitled to an update when I was sold it but it was a while ago. I'll make some calls on Monday. I don't use it often enough for that sort of money.
  4. My 2014 Advance is due in next weekend for its first service. I have been using the Sat Nav a bit more recently and its clearly not up to date on speed limits especially in FIFE and also a few junctions which I know were changed way before I got my car. Is the Sat Nav updated at the service with the latest updates. My car was bought new from Lexus Edinburgh. I could ask them of course but its a Saturday and figured someone else must have had theirs serviced by now.
  5. You'll know its there. Lexus dealer should be able to advise on a smart repair. Otherwise go to Halfords and take a look at the touch in sticks and ask to take a few out to the car to see what's the best match on the labels.
  6. Right hand centre button on the steering Wheel. hold it down to reset.
  7. Switch between a & b trip using the button on the instrument cluster then reset just as mentioned above.
  8. Bit late but hopefully you either asked your dealer for help or found the voice tag setup in the settings section not the phone section (from memory anyway) need more help post back.
  9. No issues here either. Once I set my voice commands for the frequently used contacts it works well. I am using a Samsung S4. Sound quality is fine both ways as well. Have you been back to your dealer or called Lexus CS?
  10. The centre screen shows a top down graphic outline of the car and which end is close to an object. There is no reversing camera on the advance which I don't care about anyway. I do wish it auto dipped the wing mirrors in reverse but I can live with that.
  11. I have one and yes its standard on the Advance model. The centre screen shows which side of the car is close to an object and is complimented by audible beeps which get progressively closer until you approach an insurance claim then the beep changes to solid and screen shows a red line at the relevant corner. Works well. The Advance made the most sense to me spec wise for the money. What you may not know if you haven't driven one is the lack of blind spots compared with a lot of modern shapes these days.
  12. just a thought but pulling trim off to add sound deadening can induce creaks and rattles. I'm of the opinion the volume increase when on full throttle is partially deliberate so you do it less saving fuel. The 2014 has a better sound due to the way they tweaked the ECU and CVT relationship but its still significant when on full throttle like all cars. I think part of the problem is the car is so quiet most of the time its more obvious in the CT.
  13. Its the self repairing bit that concerns me regards using abrasive polish, which is usually required after claying regardless of how careful you are as some marring is highly likely. The manual states abrasive polish should be avoided so i have been using non abrasive Polish or paint cleaner as they are known. Dont think 2013 cars have self repairing paint so may only be a concern for 2014 onwards. Just to clarify the process after washing: Tar remover - wash - Iron X - pressure wash off - Clay bar (if required). I have found that the first two steps mean far less effort with the clay bar and as a result less likelyhood of marring. For sure a clay bar in its own will smooth the paint but TAR on a clay bar will likely cause marring as can the bits of iron contaminates the bar shears off. Iron remover is a vital step as it helps dissolve the stuff out the paint whereas clay sometimes pulls it out but often just shears the top off. Clay mitts are all the rage these days my only issue is most have dark grey surfaces so its hard to see whats coming off but at least when you drop one its not game over.
  14. I used Osram night breaker plus bulbs on my Crz which had poor lights and they really made a difference. as for HID conversions any car fitted as of a year ago must have self levelling headlamps and washers or it will fail an MOT. Apart from that how well tested are they given the electric in our cars and to work properly the headlamps reflectors are different hence the MOT change to stop this practise.
  15. avoid the FSport if you want comfort. I drove 2013 luxury, 2014 fsport and the difference in ride between the two is minimal albeit the FSport did handle better and CVT response was better. I ordered a 2014 Advance on standard 17" and it's the best combo if you ask me as it handles really well and is significantly more comfortable. Whatever you decided the CT200 is a great car to live with day in day out. I didn't like the look of the car with smaller wheels and the standard 17" Advance ones are really easy to clean as well.
  16. The 2014 does not have auto folding mirrors when locking and unlocking. Annoying when getting out when parallel parked on a street but my CRZ was the same so I'm used to it.
  17. Mines a 2014 Advance and when the low fuel notice comes up I just press the Disp button on the right hand side of my steering wheel after a few seconds and cycle through the modes until range one up again albeit once its at zero your in educated guesswork territory
  18. When you acknowledge the warning the range can be seen again. I would not bother rushing to refuel as you have another 10litres in the tank which is my findings. I wish it wasn't so early as you end up guessing a bit or filling up far more than you need to.
  19. Can you explain the knock in more detail, like when it happens most is when going from lock to lock or when going over bumps. Re the washer jet if you can pull the tube off the washer end try fitting another tube or straw over the front top part and blow hard with some water in your mouth.
  20. That's odd I wrote have expected 40 at least.
  21. This must be aimed at US market where such distance might matter more. It would be nice to able to choose to lower it to a more sensible amount say by dealer update at a service.
  22. I thought as much and if thats what you get KDS its confirmed as being normal. Still seems daft to me in a car that's all about about economy.
  23. I've had mine since march and seem to always have 10l in the tank to go when I fill up. I am left sort of ignoring for a bit 20-30 miles if need be but I don't like the guess work to be honest and wanted to check if this is normal on the 2014ct. I think I read running out of fuel is a no no on a hybrid so is this precautionary on behalf of Lexus.
  24. I thought this might happen as it's been known for a long time diesel ain't the way forward in cities. I bought my CT because I don't like the racket, vibration and filling up with the stuff as well. The sun is on the case thoughhttp://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/5809435/Sun-campaign-to-help-diesel-drivers-hit-by-Government-u-turn.html
  25. No solution other than reduce the file size for each track as anything over 6meg will take twice as long to load apparently. I do HQ MP3 copies so will try more compression (reluctantly). Maybe it's assumed folks still rip at original iTunes default of 128mbps.
