  1. Just recently replaced one of my keys,,, the key itself cost £275 and it was about another £50 to programme it. I would not take a chance myself on any other option than the main dealer for this. Don't forget to take your V5 document with you plus photo ID (driving licence) when ordering
  2. Can't believe this, the same thing happened to me this morning though I had started the car OK first thing, but then having returned to car later the same thing happened, that is, it started then almost immediately stopped, been fine since though, stopped and started a few times since,,,,,very odd. My remote has a new battery, so not assuming it's that.
  3. Can anyone point me in the right direction as how to adjust headlight, preferably with photos. Thanks
  4. Information for replacement key. just bought a replacement key for my Is250 at local main dealer. Key £274 Programming £57 Total £331
  5. I have found the car more a than adequate for acceleration, I have a 2008 Is250 SR auto, and I have just come from a Civic Type R Fn2,
  6. Thanks for your input,,,,I just feel that the brakes could be a tad better, that's why I asked about what other 250 owners have done, there are always better options than the OEM in my experience. And there is the problem with excessive dust to overcome.
  7. I understand this topic will generate lots of differing opinions, but what is generally accepted as the best combination for front discs and pads for the IS250? Also pads that will cut down on the dreaded dust.
  8. If it helps you decide what way to go I was quoted £140 at my main dealer to change coolant
  9. Enquired at the main dealers about a service on my IS250 auto (2008 with 10,000 miles) that's right just 10k with service history (not Lexus) Was quoted 645 quid, was told it needed a MAJOR service and that includes replacing the spark plugs, plugs should not need replacing after 10,000 miles IMO. Looking at the service schedule in the book, I realise I could do 80% of it myself as I have access to a pit and a hoist at work. These main dealers never cease to amaze me with their rip off charges.
  10. cheers Exdee,,,,, thanks for the reply but one of mine is beyond it, looks as though its been painted with ali paint or something and really messed up
  11. you would imagine they would be able to be replaced,,,,I cannot see Lexus missing the opportunity to make money.
  12. Does anyone know if the chrome tailpipes on the 250 can be replaced?
  13. I would say never cut corners with engine oil, and always buy a good quality product.
  14. Thanks for the reply Hondaman,,,pretty sure the noise wasn't there a few days ago, but reading up on it chances are it's the injectors, could it possilbly be anything else though?
  15. 2008 IS 250 auto,,,,,,,,,Only joined the forum just over a week ago and already have a problem to solve. I have developed a ticking sound from the back of the engine area, it sounds central area, anyone got any ideas as to what this might be, any suggestion would be appreciated. thanks John
  16. Only had one key with my car and am looking at getting an additional one. First question is can this only be done at the main dealers, and if so any idea how much. second question is can an independent company successfully do this and if so what is their price likely to be? thanks in advance for any answers
  17. Hi James, I'm coming from a FN2 type R so the first thing I am noticing is the ride quality, Type R very hard.
  18. Have just bought an IS 250 auto and am hoping to be able to get some useful information from you guys regarding the vehicle.
