  1. I would like to canvass the opinions of other is250 on the subject of fuel additives, the pros and cons, the types that are available, and what's considered the "best" . Any feedback and knowledge of products would be appreciated.
  2. Which is as much use as a chocolate teapot
  3. I think you will find the "knock" is due to the over exaggerated tow in, mine does exactly the same, worth getting the tracking checked out though.
  4. Agree with this, i only had one key when I bought the car, cost me £330 from main dealer for an additional key
  5. Cars are built with them nowadays to protect them from the elements. Are you sure? I've jet wash many engines and never had any problems.
  6. How do you think the millions of cars survived before manufacturers started putting covers on engines? My opinion is it's just bull****, an old army saying was, "bull**** baffles brains"
  7. Johnatg,,,,,I quite like "showing off" my engine bay to others, and It seems like you agree that these covers are for cosmetic purposes only, and also to confuse the hell out of Joe Public, when I lift the bonnet to check levels I always have a good look around for anything that doesn't look right, can't do that with covers on.
  8. Or just leave the covers off, I took all my covers off so that when I make visual checks I can at least see anything untoward, i.e. Fluid leaks. can anyone tell me why all motor manufacturers now put covers all over the engine? They actually serve no useful purpose, other than to confuse you.
  9. To be honest I didn't look too close as I have just done mine and I use Magnatec, and that only cost me £20 discounted
  10. Referring to the price of the oil, Asda was selling Edge for £29 this week
  11. I hope for your sake he didn't put 8 litres of oil in, the handbook will tell you 5.9 Ltrs without filter change or 6.3 ltrs with filter change. (Think this is correct without consulting manual) this is unless you are talking about another vehicle not a 250is and Castrol edge only comes in 4 ltr containers
  12. one thing that did surprise me was they lack leg room for passengers in the rear seats, very poor for the size of the car.
  13. I took my car in to Lexus Bristol last year for recall work to be done, whilst there they always check it over ( for possible extra work ) they told me I had a rear caliper seized, they replaced it FOC. The only reason I could see they did this was the vehicle had only done 18k although it's a 2008
  14. I had the all round geometry done at my local F1 autocentre and I mention this beforehand, asking whether the rear could be adjusted, was quoted £50, guy said if the rear couldn't be done it would only be £20 for front. I was charged £50 so either I've been done, or it was done all round.
  15. Thanks for the input guys, went for the efficient grip in the end £79 each.
  16. Some interesting comments, all taken on board, thanks for the replys fellas
