  1. There should have been a referendum in the first place but govs thought that they can ban combustion engine cars made since the 1800s in a two minute climate change speech - I suspect it will be pretty challenging to get what they want with the hundreds of millions of combustion engine cars in the world.
  2. Oh dear, you again. Covid deniers, that's what you folks say isn't it, everything they said is not a lie, politicians are up to their eyeballs with lawyers now - look at the state of them The problem is that people are brainwashed into this communism regime taking grip on the western world- electric cars are more skulduggery, ULEZ zones cycle lanes 20mph limits flower beds taking up parking space - anyone with half a brain can see all isn't quite right. Or maybe I'm just too paranoid - to you it's perfectly normal. Combustion engine cars account for less than 1 percent of global greenhouse gases in the UK anyway so let me go for a drive in my 3 litre petrol and see all the dead bodies, I can't sleep at night knowing what I am doing. Wait for them riots to kick off, the world is getting divided into a tiered society which is ironic as that's the entire plan. On one side you have people who's brains are full of brainwashing ideology, that's you clearly and on the other half you have people who are saying wtfurk is going on with everything. BTW there's ample coverage all over the interweb and YT about people who aren't happy with electric cars, but like I said a few days ago all we seem to hear on mainstream media is the good stuff. I can lease out a 50k EV tomorrow, no problem but what good would it ever do me, absolutely nothing is the answer. I would be forever paying that thing off and like the Porsche Taycan guy on YT said you will never own them cars. Zero benefit to me
  3. EVs reek of skulduggery behaviour and going on, most likely NDA agreements protect against anything from leaking into mainstream media
  4. Risks are more likely with an electric car because batteries can spontaneously combust at any given moment. Firefighters hate them and all that nasty chemicals isn't good.
  5. Combustible fuel is in Automobiles since the 1800s so I think its pretty tried and trusted by now and you wont experience its flash point unless you have an accident - if a weak cell exists from the one of the thousdands in a EV you are toast, while sitting in your car waiting for it to charge up. Anyway - like I said, in this era of 'experts' I suspect we are not told half the story and anything that is not fitting the subject is probably not even mentioned in the press - like the shipping vessle from a few years ago - was this related to climate or icebergs melting it would have had global coverage
  6. You have a bigger pair of cojones than me if you are comfortable travelling at speed with half a tonne of highly combustible batteries under your arse - in my old job when I was working on a battery powered hair straightner (I know, I know) - we had buckets in the lab with sand - to chuck in batteries when they went up in smoke - a product with 2 cells max - another room with bolted doors had a big red light that warned people not to enter when destructive tests were carried out. Lithium batteries pack alot of punch, that is a solitarty cell - unless you worked with them you wont know and it only takes one single dud battery in that half tonne enclosure to set of a chain reaction of events and with so many batteries used per vehicle you are basically reliant on a 100 percent QA check each and every time. I will stick with the petrol and honestly, i dont trust anything in the papers anymore - there was a huge fire on a shipping vessle a few years ago - when it occured the first thing I thought of was it electric cars transported -- sure enough a year or so later there was a few lines about it in some paper - it was loaded with EVs in transit from Germany to the USA - but got no news coverage - the usual. We are only told the good stuff they want us to know In more climate news... All drivers could face new 'tyre tax' charges in bid to slash emissions We will be tethered to our rooms in 2030 at this rate
  7. Everything going ahead whether we like it or not - all them road works you see in local cities and councils - chances as they are climate change improvements. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11783739/How-authoritarian-eco-plan-slice-city-5-zones-latest-bid-eradicate-drivers.html
  8. What I am angry about is how all this occured without any referendums, I seem to recall Bojo having a 3 minute rant about climate and banning combustion cars a few years ago with C19 in the backdrop - it was over in few minutes- sorry lads we are banning combustion cars as of 2030 - not good for the planet - usual. No questions asked - but its happened all over the west https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-05-29/the-rich-world-s-electronic-waste-dumped-in-ghana
  9. It doesnt get much better. Electric vehicles more expensive to fuel than gas-powered cars at end of 2022: consulting firm Research shows that rising electricity prices and stabilizing gas prices made internal combustion engine cars more economical than their electric counterparts in late 2022
  10. A Tesla vehicle fire on Jan. 19, 2023 along Interstate-95 in Massachusetts that took firefighters more than 20,000 gallons* of water to extinguish. (Wakefield Fire Department) - [*90921.8L] Firefighters trying to keep America’s roadways safe are reporting higher difficulties in putting out blazes involving Teslas and other electric vehicles, with a first responder in Michigan calling them "one of our worst nightmares." The concerns come as electric vehicle sales are trending upward in the U.S., with automakers selling 807,180 of them last year to increase market share to 5.8%, compared to 3.2% in 2021, according to a recent report by The Wall Street Journal. Fire departments in states such as California and Massachusetts say electric vehicle fires are taking hours to put out, with one in recent weeks needing more than 20,000 gallons of water to extinguish. The challenges are being blamed in part on the batteries found inside electric vehicles. "It can take four to five hours to extinguish a battery fire and after that, once it gets to a tow yard, they have had those fires reignite -- even two to three days afterward," Lt. Robert Muylaert of Shelby Township Fire in Michigan told Fox2 Detroit. Once they start to burn, it goes into what is called thermal runaway," he added. "So in that one battery, [it] puts out enough heat and fire to light the battery next to it on fire." Capt. Parker Wilbourn of the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District in California told ABC 10 after a Tesla caught fire on Highway 50 near Sunrise Boulevard last week "Electric vehicle fires are just a whole different beast." "On last week’s incident, [the] driver... noticed smoke billowing from the undercarriage of the vehicle. Thankfully, she was able to pull off the side of the road and exit the vehicle safely, but that fire just continued to grow and ended up actually burning through the hood," he said. "These fires burn very hot and it is dangerous because there are different chemicals that are being produced," Wilbourn also told the station. "On a standard internal combustion engine, I can generally put that fire out if that vehicle is fully involved with my 700-gallon water tank on any fire engine that we have, not so much for our EV vehicles. We've had three that have burned in Metro Fire’s jurisdiction, and all of them have taken thousands of gallons of water to extinguish." In mid-January in Massachusetts, the Wakefield Fire Department outside of Boston said "more than 20,000 gallons of water were used" to extinguish a fire involving a Tesla vehicle that crashed along Interstate-95. "As sales of electric and hybrid vehicles increase, the fire service is continuing to modify our tactics to properly respond, protect property and firefighters as well as control these types of fires," said Wakefield Fire Provisional Chief Purcell. "Fire companies on the scene of an electrical vehicle fire should expect longer time frames to manage and control EV vehicle fires, ensure that large, continuous, sustainable water supply is established, as well as maintain heightened situational awareness and prepare for secondary fires. Fire Engineer Matt Halleck, who works are a training officer in Hillsdale, Michigan, told the Hillsdale Daily News that "electricity and water do not mix." "As a firefighter, it's one of our worst nightmares," he said. FOX Business has reached out to Tesla for comment.
  11. Its a scandal - but do you expect anything else from the government - like i said more than once anyone who thinks 2 tonne cars with half a tonne or more of lithium batteries is good for the planet really needs to stop listening to whatever place they get news stories from - that is just a single vehicle. I worked on these batteries and even putting a single 18650 cell on fire is a sight to behold -- for all the wrong reasons I think there is some light at the end of the tunnel for us folks with petol cars that are wiping out humanity, it seems the wheels are getting a bit wonky on the EV bandwagon and with so many combustion cars in the world the fight is not over by a long margin
  12. You need to look into this further, all this stuff stopped been a conspiracy around the time Bojo was caught with his pants down having parties every other weekend during lockdown. What's called out here in the link below is what we are seeing happening in the western world now, this has been in the planning for a long time. The Rio summit was in the early 90s. If you only ever listen to what is told you won't know of anything else. Now people are struggling to get food, when we were told to get EVs a few years ago there was none of this - there wasn't a war, economic crisis, food shortage, climate controlling measures taking shape in councils and we were told EVs were cheap as chips to run and the way forward. Think about it for a moment. https://www.unep.org/news-and-stories/story/world-mourns-one-its-greats-maurice-strong-dies-his-legacy-lives
  13. Thats rubbish, the western world is way too populated - including too many cars - all these climate related events are ultimately giving power to councils and govs to get people off the road - pretty much every medium to large sized city in England is chock a block with traffic most days of the week at peak hours, towns also - especially in the South
  14. Yesterday I was driving across the country, around 4 hour return trip. I used just over a quarter tank of fuel according to the fuel gauge - 65L total. I was driving as I usually do so to the speed limit - I noticed all the cars going that fast were mostly older models - the green number plates were seemingly stuck in the 1980s time warp travelling at 40mph. If I had an EV travelling at that speed that trip would take hours more - over double easily it would be a ballache - forever looking at the range, available charge points - will they work, will they fast charge, will the wife spontaneously combust.
  15. Don't expect help from the gov, they tell you work longer hours, couldn't make this nonsense up could you. If you can't afford food, work harder': Environment Secretary Therese Coffey sparks backlash by saying anyone who is struggling with cost-of-living crisis should take on longer hours
  16. Mention the environment and you are a conspiracy nut - even if you are an engineer like myself with extensive industrial experience working on lithium batteries. It’s a bit wacky but it seems like the world is turned into Dr Who Bots that the (ex) Taycan owner on YT mentioned - say anything that upsets them and they go all tin foil and conspiracy mode. Plenty of people all over the interweb are discussing how bad EVs are so it looks like the wheels might be falling off the bandwagon - I have said more than once that I don’t have a particular issue with them - it’s just how they are mandated and particularly linked to ULEZ. coupled with all these stupid controlling schemes we are seeing pop up all over the country. If Govs and councils said crack on with your 4 and 5 liter petrol V8s, after all the emissions from combustion cars in the UK is negligible when you look at the global footprint -but please consider getting a EV if you live in the city because that’s the only environment they really work in – unless you want to be forever getting from A to B on long runs. If they said that it would at least make some sense but no they went full on net zero you have to get an Electric Car or the world is doomed mode, if you live half a mile inside a ULEZ boundary tough titty, you need an EV to commute, £500 a month please. Delve into the minutes of the meetings in Davos and other cities where the G20 heads of state bods converge and all of this will make much more sense. The world's biggest carmaker believes it will be difficult to achieve a planned ban on the sales of new, non-hybrid petrol and diesel cars in California by 2035 – and has renewed its calls for consumers to be offered a range of efficient vehicle types, not just electric cars. Toyota has acknowledged the need to move to a carbon-neutral future but believes the California ban – which is now reported to be copied in New York state – is not workable with current technology and for many consumers. “Realistically speaking, it seems rather difficult to really achieve that,” the president of the Toyota Motor Corporation, Akio Toyoda, told a briefing for reporters in Las Vegas, reported by Automotive News. “Everything is going to be up to the customers to decide.”
  17. Nothing in my last (deleted) post was off topic, I covered pretty much everything that's wrong with them in a a nice paragraph but whatever - it's pretty obvious that you cannot say anything without upsetting folks nowadays but hey ho the world we live in.
  18. It's like I called out long ago, I mentioned on the Subaru website about 2 years ago - we were talking about EVs, I remember saying even back then when it was announced that combustion engine cars are banned in 2030 I said it's BS and EVs are all about control. How people deal with or accept the lies we are constantly fed by govs and politicians is up to themselves but what is clear is that politicians are never to be trusted.
  19. I don’t need to look at that YT clip but it looks to be referring to carbon credits, tax on your wealth - Houses have tax also - they too need to be 'carbon compliant' and this mandate is going back decades so what will happen is many older buildings won’t be compliant and people owning or renting them will be kicked out and the council can just buy them out - in essence the two most expensive things that one owns is at the mercy of net zero -- a house and a car – now that phrase you will own nothing might make more sense.
  20. if people only ever listen to the BS they are told they wont know any different will they. May 23, 2022 “Ukraine needs funding of at least 5 billion US dollars a month”, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video address to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Reuters reports. He demanded a complete cessation of trade relations with Russia, a complete withdrawal of foreign business from the country and again called for maximum sanctions, including the imposition of an oil embargo. Ukrainian fighters defending the Azovstal metallurgical plant in Mariupol, who surrendered to Russian forces, will be tried in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, its leader Denis Pushilin was quoted as saying by Interfax. An international tribunal is planned to be organized on the territory of the DPR. Davos..... this is the source of the skulduggery going on, Zelensky gets around $5MN a month in salary, what president of any nation gets this money. Reuters (and Getty Images) seem to be the main beneficiaries of this war - I look back to the Bush Iraq war - that happened.
  21. People just are unaware of the money exchanging hands - the Putin war is more Bs and more skullduggery to control people and get 2030 objectives met - have you noticed how this war occurred soon after the mass vaccination programme - what better way to disguise vaccine related deaths than create a war and blame evil Putin - as outlandish as it seems there no stopping Governments now in what they are doing. Is Putin blowing up Paris next week? Apart from covering Covid it also is ushering in the net zero narrative, food shortages, energy crisis, cost of living crisis and crashing global economies – very useful excuse to bring in a new digital currency and getting your brain set for the future Removing voting rights was the first step to let all this stuff occur Khan wants to extend the ULEZ zone to cover the entire of London by August, some councils are pushing back. The skullduggery is for all to see but nothing is being done. Govs have had plans with auto companies years ago, no question about that -high level discussions to ban the sale of the cars they have made since the 1800s– can you imagine the bods in the meeting, sorry stop making cars? Yes, that is correct you will make us Electric Cars Electric Cars? Yes – that is correct, its for the environment Environment? Yes, we will use Net Zero narrative Net Zero? Don’t worry, leave that to us
  22. I’m sorry, it’s about EVs and what is wrong with them - you can’t mention them without everything else happening can you – ulterior motives as it were. It’s pretty obvious from your comments you are fully behind the science. Can I ask you two simple questions? Lithium Batteries - in what way do you think making EVs full of these things is good for the environment? take your time and give me some reason. keep in mind the average EV has 400kg of batteries, some of the larger cars you are talking up to 500/600kg of lithium cells - that is for a solitary EV. What is your though process that makes them so good and second why do you need to spend huge sums of money to get into EV ownership - forget company incentive schemes and they exclude most ordinary people and most people don’t have access to them
  23. Net Zero is going to turn the entire of the UK into ULEZ zones - nothing is as it seems out there but people are too easily mugged off on a diet on trash tv, social media, tik tok and Instagram. Climate Change, how better to get control of people than convince them that the planet is crashing and burning and our very existence is at stake. If you rolled the clock back to 2017 and never turned on the news for the next 6 years you wouldn’t know of a climate emergency, you wouldn’t know of a virus wiping out the world, you wouldn’t know Putin was bombing the west.
  24. A referendum is a good starting point but politicians vote themselves into power now - tax payers are just an annoyance When I get my council tax bill, I will ask them (nicely) if they have plans in place like Oxford or other similar ‘Climate’ events and who has decided on these actions and how are these new plans allocated tax payers’ money in the same way its sent to the fire brigades, police, road maintenance etc. – the new climate improvements (lets call them that for now) don’t have any agreement with council tax payers like myself and I assume a large amount of other people. The climate scheme in Oxford, assuming they go ahead are clearly a blatant controlling exercise - they are calling it an experiment but how do you judge that? its more than likely they will continue with it regardless of the outcome of the 'trial' and extend it to other cities
