  1. I can tell you off the bat a cheap scanner won't read the modules you are interested in, my cheap dongle is fine to pull engine codes and read fuel trims I can read with torque - if you want to interrogate VCS stuff you need a higher level scanner - I need to check which one I got it's quite good.
  2. It's just Brainwashing on a global scale, I said this a few years ago and it's only getting worse. What people should do is write to your local council and ask them what measures (if any of course) they are planning and if they like you know considering actually asking if it was ok with the tax payer itself before going ahead with this bs. Richard Vobes on YT is good, no nonsense and speaks sense. Electric cars have nothing to do with the environment, it's all about control.. like covid and everything else happening. In 2030 the government will have more control than whoever is in the car, if you are an engineer it's easier to figure out this racket going on. I can only imagine the amounts of money exchanging hands since 2015 to make everything happen as it is now and it's easily trillions of dollars we are talking here - it's why I never trust a politician and this is going back decades. They're not trustworthy and never were - swanning around in jets and yachts and armoured vehicles while everyone else is getting crippled, Sunak getting a jet weeks ago to some meeting, Prince Charles is just as bad another puppet for the WEF spreading the net zero narrative. The uptake on electric cars at my company is poor, we have a scheme going on since last year - everyone working here are engineers so not easily played, the company are just going along with whatever dross the government say.
  3. I've seen this on social media and it pretty much sums up how our brains are wired https://imgur.com/a/Z27qS3v
  4. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2023/01/20/green-revolution-fuelling-environmental-destruction/?WT.mc_id=e_DM97043&WT.tsrc=email&etype=Loy_Dig_Acq_Tue_4Dto7D&utmsource=email&utm_medium=Loy_Dig_Acq_Tue_4Dto7D20230124&utm_campaign=DM97043
  5. Electric cars and Net Zero are clearly all skulduggery to get control of people. It's all kicking off now what with the 15 minute commutes in Oxford next year. Covid looks to have been the green light to governments to begin this totalitarian control bull and we have all the other measures taking shape (bike sheds, squiggle lines, picnic tables, flower beds, removal of parking spaces and general nonsense, eventually it looks like ULEZ zones and all these restrictions will cover large swathes of the country) all done with no consultation because why bother with tax payers they are just getting in the way of things, referendums are long abolished - Governments use the net zero climate change narrative for everything - they are hell bent on it so much they created a war. Governments are like cartels since 2019 pretty much - the bank of England and the banks of every other western economy are getting ready to roll out a digital currency also - that too is another controlling measure - because when you ignore all the science and look beneath the bs you will see carbon credits are basically a tax on your wealth itself - hence the phrase you will own nothing, banks, high Street shops, airports closing are all part of the plan it seems.
  6. What diagnostic detail do you need? If you are a fully fledged mechanic you would probably have a very expensive scanner, if not there's literally thousands of diagnostic scanners - you need to remember that even the bog standard one's will or should pull engine codes, the rest of the ECUs will be proprietary and will need a higher level of a device - ie airbags, transmission and abs brakes. Torque I use for reading live data as it's useful to give an instant reading on fuel trim and other parameters that tell you how your car is behaving. I have another scanner that pulls airbag and abs modules as well as all the engine ones. So the first question is what do you want from a scanner and how much of the data is useful
  7. But why should you care about them - you could rig up an inverter circuit to the alarm to trip when the car is armed - hook that signal to the cat and they wont go near it ever again
  8. I dont know about you but most of these holes we speak of are tiny and in the microns - my eyes are not that good, its not like you are looking for 5mm bolts
  9. Its an opinion from GM, probably more also if you ask - of course garages will recommend a flush - they want the cash
  10. Where is your proof it works? common sense prevails - changing fluid / filter is all that needs to be done. no need to flush anything - all you are doing is flushing your wallet Most automakers recommend against using an external machine to flush transmission fluid. Among other reasons, this is because these machines, (especially when connected improperly) can block or pressurize the wrong passages inside the transmission and cause damage. Some machines will run the transmission pump dry as they remove more fluid than they add back in. Flush machines, unless meticulously cleaned out between different vehicles, can also pump a small amount of the wrong fluid into your transmission. Even if there’s only a small chance of your transmission being damaged by a flush machine, why risk it? As mentioned above, a transmission flush (using an external machine) may not be good for your transmission. Here is an excerpt from a General Motors technical service bulletin that provides their opinion on transmission flush machines: Flushing of air conditioning (A/C) lines, radiators, transmission coolers, and power steering systems are recognized practices to be performed after catastrophic failures or extreme corrosion when encountered in radiators. For acceptable A/C flushing concerns, refer to the Flushing procedure in Service Information (SI). This practice is not required or recommended for normal service operations. The use of external transmission fluid exchange or flush machines is not recommended for the automatic or manual transmission. Use of external machines to replace the fluid may affect the operation or durability of the transmission. Transmission fluid should only be replaced by draining and refilling following procedures in Service Information (SI). Refer to Automatic/Manual Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement.
  11. Negative for a reason, it's snake Oil. What do you want to achieve by flushing oil, leave it alone and replace with more oil, preferably good quality oil such as motul which is far better than flushing it with solvent fluid and replacement with something generic that the main dealer use, I doubt they would go to the expense of using motul but still find the need to charge 400/500 quid for a 20 minute job
  12. Same as what happened to me, the woke cops won't do anything to apprehend crims nowadays so they can do as they wish - they will be in touch if you go speeding 5 mph over the limit however ; the hotel where the jazz had the cat taken had hi res footage showing them lifting the car up and the vehicle they used with it's registration plate clearly visible
  13. Flushing is a terrible Idea on transmission boxes too, another money spinner for garages. There's no need to flush oil but if you really need to do it then the best way is flush it with more.. oil. Take it for a drive flush it and refill. The problem with flushing is your replacing oil with watery solvents and that is not good for high precision tolerance parts that need lubricant of a specialist viscosity, also you risk lodging gunks of particles in solenoids or whatever is inside this transmission and eventually it will get clogged to such an extent it won't work anymore and your going to get rough gear shifts and eventually it probably will just size up.
  14. Auto oil is auto oil, it's nothing magical and Sealed for life is a scam and nothing more than planned obsolescence. It's not just Lexus. Subaru, Honda and plenty others as well I am sure are on board - how better to replace cars than get expensive parts fubared due to lack of oil change. Transmission units are ridiculous expensive, I made sure to replace the fluid on mine twice in my ownership, so far less than 70k miles and it's a manual but a replacement is going to make you cry. Replacement fluid should be done as if it's a manual, so in or around 70k - forget what manufacturers tell you. Get some tools, find the correct torque for the sump nut, get the correct oil and just do it. It's not like you are launching a rocket
  15. I can but it won't be the last of you will hear about it will it. Richard Vobes and plenty others have opinion on that Oxford scheme but only time will tell, but as Richard said this 'trial' they intend to carry out how will it be assessed, his thoughts were it will be deemed a success anyway - sugar coating it as some traffic filtering is just a decoy - you need to translate all the bs you are reading. Oxford say traffic in the city is bad, no way Jose. Go visit Bangkok. Traffic in most large cities in the world is bad due to population. Greater Tokyo is the most populated place on earth, I've been there and they manage just fine.
  16. Erm, you brought this up? So, the answer to your cheeky question is no - not hiding my camera EVs aren’t just not green, they are not green at all as the manufacturing of them kills off that notion in one fell swoop. The new normal is accepting everything you are told by the gov - kids at school are told petrol cars basically kill you and net zero is life threatening, primary school students are told eat bugs (2022 study) and stop eating red meat readying them for what is normal in 2030. The gov are brainwashing people to such an extent they believe everything and that huge fires in the summer can occur when the temperature is 40C, no it cannot - someone started it. Just as fires in Australia are always started by idiots and why they have total fire bans during the hot season and its much hotter than 40C down there - it was over 50C when I visited in Feb 2002 And really when you think about it and forget everything about conspiracy and look at the car itself, the automobile – how is it possible to entirely ban them entirely just like that, a two-minute net zero speech. They have been around since the 1800s and are reliable, easy to manufacture and well known by mechanics the world over – nobody even asked any questions as there wasn’t any referendum or anything – nobody said hang on a sec, what contribution do they have to global greenhouse gases – what about the batteries and raw materials. Net zero is important to the government because it keeps the momentum to EVs and the eventual phasing out of combustion engine cars and that is not easy because they are everywhere. All the cycle lanes, ULEZ zones and general way things are going including dumping cycle sheds on public footpaths / streets are all little clues as to what lies ahead. I thought a few years about this and why are they so mad on EVs and the first thing that came to my mind is control of people and that is what it looks like but unless you delve into what is going on and forget everything you are told you will think they are for net zero. If Oxford council or another district actually goes ahead with these social security style passes they will no doubt cite climate change, net zero or such as a reason and due to all the chaos happening they already have won the war against the public.
  17. Not really no, some folks just have a brain cell. I do have 2 stage authentication however.. https://i.imgur.com/dXNXxQ2.jpeg
  18. With everything happening in the world would you bet against this actually happening however.
  19. There's a book called the Milner Fabian conspiracy, publication date - 2015. All the stuff going on now has been in planning for years, that is why most people don't know of anything untoward happening, because of the way everything is executed The thing is everything is the new normal now, people dropping like flies from experimental drugs is absolutely normal, interest rates shooting up over a year - not a problem, crack on with it. Electric cars with half tonne battery's good for the environment, absolutely. Everyone is too thick unfortunately and this is what happens when there's no referendums anymore. The lockdowns, quarantines, distancing, and isolation were merely a test-run to see how people would respond to self-captivity. The test was designed to train people to become obedient pawns to be ruled by their installed captors. And, like the obedient pawns they became, they celebrated their captivity on social media; dancing, singing, and telling each other how their captivity was "saving lives"
  20. A shambles? EVs are a mugs game - the greatest swindle of modern history, gov’s required a fictional energy crisis war to drive the net zero climate change drivel and pay off stop oil nutsters in the process. The whole plan is to get people from the over populated western world off the road and endure a future of totalitarian control bull. Anyone who thinks EVs with half tonne batteries are actually eco-friendly need to stop listening to skulduggery cowboys - aka 'experts' In reality this is what EVs are about - restricting movement and removing people's freedom. I told you read the agenda from Indonesia, it will all make sense As a comment said - and the key word used is nobody is aware, because that is the entire plan. We are sleep walking in to the matrix! Nobody votes for any of these issues and it seems that most are not aware of what’s happening. Well done Stu. Oxford council have said, "this is coming, wether you like it or not". -- Just like Net zero, lockdowns and banning ICE cars then. Referendums are a thing of the past Still a shambles?
  21. You get even less range than the already exaggerated range you are told by sales reps If you folks want to fanny around charging up EVs every day thats your choice
  22. Well yes since Boris J announced in a 2 minute speech with C19 a neat distraction that ICE cars would be banned, the ones available since the 1800s - reliable old work horses at that, no referendum either - no need for that eh Hence people buying EVs - duh - saving the net zero
  23. If it was £60k you would still see it a bargain I guess - you seem like these 'experts' we hear so much about - you are not part of the stop oil brigade are you?
  24. Because they are told to do so. and thats a fraction of the driving population - most are driving petrol or diesel, not many signed up to the EV scheme at my work place
