  1. A decade of academic studies gets a few degrees, and a Master's at that. Funnily enough it's a Master of Engineering Science in Microelectronics, so I'm a scientist after all it seems. The problem now and it's obvious it's going back to covid is the narrative, it's all one way traffic and there's no questions asked and if you do ask anything you get the usual conspiracy theory, where did you study and show me the evidence. The same folk now will proclaim 15 minute commutes are perfect for my work commute, it's highly unlikely that is the case but it's what their brains are saying. They have an answer for everything, seems like brainwashing to me. It's getting a bit ridiculous now, boring, tedious and almost inevitable what's happening is almost predictable. And all these council climate preventative measures are gone way past the climate and clearly are infringing your very own freedom and independence. That's why I wrote to my council and asked for a concise breakdown of where my council tax is actually going - there's obviously widespread corruption going on, that's the problem we have.
  2. When this is happening along with everything else it's still a conspiracy. https://www.scottishdailyexpress.co.uk/news/scottish-news/mad-green-plan-30mph-speed-29629787?utm_source=newsshowcase&utm_medium=discover&utm_campaign=CCwqGQgwKhAIACoHCAowi76vCzCYyccDMMO8sgEwjfPHAQ&utm_content=bullets My Engineering judgement, 15 odd years of experience and my countless degrees and a master's say's climate change and net zero is all hogwash and it's pretty obvious that scores of people are basically brainwashed. The fact that so many words are even blacklisted speaks volumes then we have every second thread on anything to do with whatever is happening is closed off. My Subaru was leaking coolant last week and I was dreading the worst, the end of my seven year friendship.. I was even browsing for 4.2 Jags, it was a worrying time, then I saw an Oil cooler crossover pipe had failed, never was I so glad to see a leak. There's something enjoyable and pleasing about driving a car with such mechanical and analogue features which gives a feel good factor that modern cars just cannot replicate. This is an animation that sums it all up, what I am struggling with is the constant conspiracy jibes, there was actually a meeting in Rio in 1992 to discuss how the future will be, am I missing something here or was that meeting fabricated. https://youtu.be/vWkepoLUZfs
  3. speaking of bees my manager at work makes the best of honey - cant beat home grown produce
  4. Forget ADT - I have an IP Camera - I fitted it myself, its a standard PTZ job with night vision and alarms and all the usual bells and whistles I found out from my research that many cameras are the same and just re badged - so that £400 PTZ camera may well have the same lens as the boggo ebay job that costs £130 - what you really pay for is conmnnectivity and software. I have a Synology NAS which acts as a HDD but my camera is one of the boggo cheap ones (£150 or so) but with essentially the same lens as higher priced models - the unit works fine, remote access and app etc but if I was picky I would say that its IP functionality - ie communicating with Synology and NAS devices is a bit weak but I can live with it for now - it is easy enough to upgrade if I want to - this was really just a tester to see how they work out
  5. Well you LenT and the rest will probably say regarding 15 minute commutes that "well I walk 15 minutes to work anyway so..." The thing is I doubt that is actually the case but its what your brain is telling you - just like its telling you all of this That is why all these events are 'normal'
  6. This has to be the post of the week - do we hand out awards here?
  7. Until there are riots I guess...😐 you look like another 'bot'
  8. We cant can we - when this is happening - and if you remove goggles you will see this conspiracy stuff is actually just what the UN set out in that Rio Summit - but blinkered people just use that old chestnut conspiracy https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/article-11885237/Forget-LTNs-London-council-installs-anti-car-measure-wavy-kerbs-hard-cars-pass.html
  9. Democratic 😂 The irony is killing me - give me a few moments while I get a strong beer
  10. https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/article-11889677/Revenge-drivers-ULEZ-cameras-covered-bags-guerilla-war-against-hated-scheme.html https://www.dailymail.co.uk/video/news/video-2905511/Video-Demonstrators-protest-Orpington-against-proposed-ULEX-expansion.html Its going to get messy - this net zero bs The problem is this conspiracy nonsense - you cant say anything but agree to everything - right lenT and Las Palmas
  11. I take it you do all the service on this yourself? these engines in Japan are precison things and rarely go wrong - unlike modern ones - you can tell they were designed by Engineers and not bean counters
  12. Well everything is a conspiracy isnt it - You and LenT - anything that goes against the narrative is by default a conspiracy and this is aligning perfectly with the censorship we are seeing - I said it last year, you lot will never have a second opinion on anything and listen to everything you are told so lets stop wasting each others time on the matter? resistance... is futile Government pre-approval of all information shared online, via social media, and on TV. Dissenting views all eliminated. You think Electric Cars are eco friendly - duh! Hydrogen cars probably will happen but not any time soon so its a wast of time even talking about them right now
  13. Its not a stupid question - you said they are here , as an Engineer myself I have seen all these reports countless of times - I wont be holding my breath - the best thing is forget about them because they arent happening anytime soon and talking about them is futile
  14. A Maserati 4200 Spyder is a great way to be ULEZ compliant mind - its 430g/km of net zero obileration is a good middle finger gesture to the powers that be
  15. Or a vauxhall corsa, mucho less expensive than a electric car costing 50k and greener for the planet to boot
  16. Ok so let's hear your review on the hydrogen Toyota.. When are you buying it?
  17. I say stick with that V8, I done an Oil change on this Subaru today, almost 139k miles and purrs like a kitten and goes like a scaled cat when the needs arise, I would drive an electric car over the cliff and keep this. Old cars are selling in auctions for crazy money, mostly the buyers are well heeled gen X people who have no interest in modern cars with zero driving dynamics. 80s and 90s cars now command a premium and the trend is following with 2000 models Meanwhile electric cars aren't even taken in by dealers as part exchange.
  18. Well people who refuse to accept anything but what they are told is a bit difficult to understand sometimes, yes
  19. Hydrogen cars are way way off.. converting existing combustion engine cars to hydrogen is a long shot, if the cars have vvt or such as many modern cars do forget about it the ECU and timing and everything else won't know what is happening with the new fuel. I think we need to step back and go back to what I said, combustion engine cars aren't the chief culprit with greenhouse gases. Let's say that more blunt, blame the cows, manufacturing plants and the main sources of greenhouse gases, net zero climate change things. Is that a far etched conspiracy statement? Or common sense... Which seems absent in this world nowadays
  20. Apart from the fact you struggle to get a V8 anything now let alone in 2034
  21. Scientists say reducing planet-heating pollution is non-negotiable if the world is to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 degrees Fahrenheit) above pre-industrial levels and avoid a key tipping point beyond which extreme flooding, droughts and wildfires will likely become much more frequent.... The problem is the science, how about wake up to the fact that the automotive industry isn't the chief culprit in .. climate change net zero. https://www.cnn.com/2023/03/24/cars/eu-combustion-engine-debate-climate-intl/index.html
  22. They are ahead of schedule it seems in doing their best to get people off the road...
  23. I don't know, the amount of batteries put into EVs is at a level most people aren't even considering, I remember doing a spreadsheet last year I think it was and working out roughly how many batteries will be needed between now and 2040 with generous enough sales figures, still far lower than what we used to get but enough to provide a figure way too large to pronounce in scientific notation
  24. The wheels look to be falling off this EV bandwagon, banning them for good would be the best outcome. Dealers won't go near used one's with a bargepole https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/business-electric-vehicles/crisis-looms-used-electric-car-values-plummet
